hope you all are having a healthy day. I have been working on my weight since April cuz I quit smoking 2 1/2 years ago and gained 30 pounds. I have lost most of it. Now eating healthy has become a habit(most of the time). I go to the life fitness center in bettendorf,,,my insurance pays for it,,,if any one else goes there and would like to chat you can contact me emoticon

Great idea! I like weekly progress reports!

After 2+ months off track, this week is starting out okay for me! I went to HyVee and got all of my food for the week, and as long as I stick to that and keep it up at the gym, I think I am doing pretty well.

I usually give myself a cheat day (only after I have had 6 flawless days), but I think I'm going to hold off on that this week!

Hello everyone. Maybe we could use this column to say if we met our individual goals for the week. My schedule was thrown off by the holiday and I didn't exercise every day. How did everyone else do this week?

That sounds good! Are you able to set things for the team goals in that section of the group/team page?

My personal goals have been slipping some the past two weeks -- I recently started university classes again, while working and maintaining my daughter on my own -- and it seems like I'm back to square one on meal-planning and fitting exercise in!

Let's do a challenge of some sort. I like using Halloween as a goal date!
Since we all have different health goals, lets post our own personal goals, and then maybe each week we can have a roll call of how well we are doing!
Any input? :)

Sorry you are having a rough week, Shannon!

I have been slacking something terrible with eating healthy. I think it's the season change -- the fruits I've been getting aren't really in season, so they aren't as good, and I end up wasting them. I'll be glad when the apples are a little more in season. And oranges!

Thanks to my job and to Wii-Fit, though, I've been keeping up the exercising daily! :)

A Halloween challenge would be great! I need it... I keeping eyeing those Dots candies in the aisle when I'm with my daughter. SHE can get away with eating that stuff, and I can't! And I'm hoping to look cute in my costume, too.

Bix fest is always a blast! I don't know if I'm going to be able to enjoy it as much this year if I'm having to get up and run the next morning, but I'm up for the challenge!
Lets see what other responses we get for goal ideas and we'll put some sort of tracker up...
We need to get together and have (diet)drinks sometime! emoticon

Wow! Congrats on taking on the Bix! That always falls right near my birthday, so I am usually out enjoying Bix-Fest rather than being motivated to run... haha!

I work in a Day-care, which is actively running around with kids for 4+ hours a day... I usually only count it as an hour to two hours, depending on how crazy the day was. So that's my work-out, normally, and I just got the Wii-Fit game last Sunday, so that's keeping busy, too. Fun stuff!

I drink tons of water, so I'm good on that. Not so much on walking/running a certain amount, and I haven't gotten a pedometer yet to keep track of my steps. But that would be a neat thing to track, too.

I know there's a way for you to put them on the mainpage of the team, Jess, so once you decide on some goals, that would be cool to have to track!

Ahhh I'm here I promise!!!! I have a love hate relationship with this whole dieting thing!

I think the goals thing is a fantastic idea, Ali! What about for the exercisers, we have a cumlative goal like X amount miles of running or walking per week? Or even nutrition wise, we could do X amount of servings of fruits or vegetables per day, or track water intake.
My goal right now is to find the time to login to this page!!! I need to stay on top of it.......

But I ran 7.5 miles last night and I'm signed up for the Bix. Anyone doing the Bix on the 26th?? emoticon

Hi, all!

I was just wondering how everyone is doing on our goals/challenge. I know we didn't agree on just what to do, but I'm working out at least 4xweek, drinking 8+ glasses of water a day and I'm not eating after 8.

So far, I have been great at working out, but I need to work on drinking more water. I also had a handful of cereal last night around 10. Oops.

I hope to be at 155 by August 16th. I have a cute skirt that I want to fit into by then (it's my 28th birthday, and I want to feel cute!). How is everyone else doing??

I like the team goals idea!

What about working out (at least) 4 days a week, drinking all 8 glasses of water every day, and (this is the tough one for me!) no eating after 8:00pm.

Those are just my votes! I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's ideas!

This is the beginning of the month... so a perfect time to start a new healthy routine!
