Just one? At different times of life there are different scriptures that speak or lend comfort.

Please list some of the most comforting Bible passages that you feel everyone should know.

I'll start with Psalm 23.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Life.
It's Worth Living.
It's Worth Giving.
Choose Life.

Build up the Culture of Life!
We can change hearts, by bringing up the next generation to embrace Life at an early age.
If only moral people are willing to do that, mass abortion will end.

I found this idea through a Ken Ham book and I use it regularly.
He said that the following scripture would make a great tract to pass out to people, because it covers the basics of EVERYTHING.

Here's the list: (I wrote them out on bookmarks and passed them out to friends and family)

Genesis 1-11 (this covers the Beginning of many principles (including marriage)

Exodus 20 (this is where the Ten Commandments are listed. We must ALL know these.)

John (whole book) (this includes the life and ministry of Jesus)

Romans (whole book (this teaches how salvation works)

1 Corinthians 15 (spiritual, new life in Christ)

Revelation 21 and 22 (Heaven)

At one time we had memorized the Revelation verses, Exodus 20, 1 Corinthians 15 (which is hard! I don't think we finished it).
If you don't MEMORIZE it, I suggest READING IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER until it feels soooo familiar to your children.
We have read one of these DAILY for an entire month. (we covered all eleven chapters of Genesis this way, Exodus, John, and now we are on Romans. ( I failed in Romans, because we stopped doing it last November when my mom was so ill and haven't returned to it yet. )

Doing it this way, is awesome, because the kids learn to automatically know where a passage is in the Bible. When I was younger I used to be flabbergasted that ANYONE would know where ANYthing was in the Bible. (I've grown since then. :) )

And we all lived happily ever after...
