And you are very right!

I have NINE children and until these last few years we lived in 1,100 square feet. The second floor had slanted ceilings, so the taller they got, the worse things got, lol. There was one closet in the house, until my husband built my wall of shelves and cupboards and drawers.

But now we have moved to a house 2 or 3 times the size.
We GENERALLY KNOW where things are, but they get lost easily because we don't sit at the table to 'do school'.
I have books books books...All worth keeping and I have to decide DECIDE! whether or not to just pass them along! EEK!
And then I have photo albums of those 'precious memories' that are oozing out of the shelves. Old photo albums where the pictures no longer 'stick' in place and keep falling out and getting misplaced! ALL OF THAT FUN STUFF.

So, no, I'm not worried about having a pristine house....THAT will NEVER happen.
But I would like my eye to be able to skim across the room without thinking we've been hit by a tornado! lol

It's always a work in progress when children are regularly added to the family, because of course, I will ALWAYS make room for MORE! ;)

And we all lived happily ever after...

I'm one of those cluttered homes and I try not to let it bother me. I grew up in a pristine home. We weren't homeschooled so their weren't any "extra's" but people used to joke that you could eat off the floors. Even now when we go to my parents home I'm afraid my kids will spill something or heaven forbid put their hands on the walls.

When we were blessed with four children I knew that my home would always be lived in and that I needed to be ok with that. I want my kids to look back and say how much fun they had growing up. We have a small home for the six of us +2 dogs. The house is clean and we know where everything belongs - for the most part. One day, in the not so far off future, I won't have the clutter of toys, electronics, pens, pencils, books and books and more books. For now, I am embracing the clutter because it means my home is filled with four precious miracles.

Got any cool desk organizing ideas for a Victorian House's library?
Any pretty-but-practical computer desks?
Our library is FULL of books, a couple of desks and several bookshelves. 3 doorways, two corner windows and a fireplace.
It always seems to look unorganized.

I saw this REALLY really REALLY cool thing that hangs on the wall.
Maybe 3 foot high, 2 1/2 foot wide. Double doors. Stained. When you open the doors, there is a multiple number of tiny drawers that you can pull out (paper clips, staples and such?) And I was thinking that we could put corkboard or chalkboard on the inside of the doors.
Then you could just CLOSE those doors when you're going to have company and everything could be hidden in one place.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Hello!
I LOVE Home Educating, but BOY does it come with some tricky circumstances.
I would love for my children to be able to look back on their home schooling years and NOT THINK, "clutter".
I want it to be a BEAUTIFUL example of how Home Life can be.

Well, I don't know about YOU, but in MY household of nine children, you things can just ADD UP! You can't pack away or get rid of your curriculum and supplies when they are going to be needed pretty soon for your next child!
So PLEASE share with us your ideas on how YOU make your house organized. BUT, NOT just ORGANIZED, but Beautiful and Tidy.

Maybe you could even upload a photo!

Thanks,
~Susan
