I've homeschooled since 1999. I didn't like what public school offered my husband and myself, though I am grateful for what I DID manage to learn. We did not have pleasant experiences. Avoiding the troubles and trials of being a kid in school was worth the effort it would take us to homeschool each of our children. We have 9. We do not regret the choice.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Life.
It's Worth Living.
It's Worth Giving.
Choose Life.

Build up the Culture of Life!
We can change hearts, by bringing up the next generation to embrace Life at an early age.
If only moral people are willing to do that, mass abortion will end.

I've always homeschooled. . . my oldest is going to be 13 in a couple of months here. (And she is acting 13. . . so responsible and forward-thinking! She's really doing a good job!) I decided to homeschool because I love teaching. It's my favorite part of being a mother. If I have to do that character building stuff, I don't want to turn over the "good part" to the government. Wow! Scary thought!

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23

I was just wondering how long everyone here has been homeschooling, and what your reason(s) were for doing so. This is our second year - it's really the first full year that I've homeschooled all 3 of my kids. The main reason I considered/started homeschooling was because my oldest daughter was falling between the cracks at public school (she was diagnosed with mild dyslexia and inattentive ADHD) and I wasn't convinced that the 'help' they were offering was really going to be of benefit. My middle daughter begged me to homeschool her, and I got to the point where I realized that it would just be a whole lot easier if we were all traveling on the same path.
