Did you all see what CurrClick's free download of the week is? It's a preschool activity unit on tools, with over 60 pages of things little ones can do themselves. Here's the link www.currclick.com/product_info.php?p

As seems to be typical for this kind of thing labeled "preschool", some of it is harder than other parts of it. No one of my kids would have found all the activities in it "just right" at any one time. Some of it would be a nice review for my 6 yo that just finished Kindergarten, and some other of it would be simple for my kids at 3 years old. Anyway, I plan to print just portions of it at a time for my preschooler (she'll be 4.5 later this month).

The best thing I've found for keeping preschoolers busy (I'm on my 4th preschooler while homeschooling) is Activities in a Bag www.activitybags.com/ The book gives directions and ideas for tons and tons of activities, each self contained in a gallon sized ziplock bag. Years ago (when my 3rd child was soon to be 3) I got in on an Activities in a Bag co-op, where each of 20+ moms made 20-whatever identical bags. We mailed our bags off to the organizer, who sorted them and then mailed 20+ different bags back to each of us. The result is a plastic bin chock-a-block full of keep-'em-busy-while-teaching-them-somethin
g activities. It has served me quite well over the years.
