HDL increases with exercise. Eating right is good also. After running in to the wall enough times, I understand what the Drs. and Dietitian have been telling me all along. Learn, vicariously, through my mistakes. emoticon

When I started on my journey I thought of the following when I wanted to eat unhealthully:
Loss of my mother in her 50s from a massive stroke
Permanent lifelong disability from a stroke in her mother in her 50s
Dementia
Heart attack and subsequent surgery

Now, as I've been on this journey for several years and have changed the way we eat, I don't even want some of those things I used to eat. I now think of exercise as a treat for myself! I used to dread exercise! Woo hoo. Go me! My total cholesterol dropped a hundred points! Thank you Dr. McDougall, Dr. Ornish, Dr. Esselstyne, Dr. Fuhrman
