Thanks to all of you for your good comments and support emoticon
I just read here on Spark People "3 ways to Build Consistency" This is what I took from it.
Never say " I'm not motivated," instead acknowledge I have a choice. Ask myself this question instead. "Will this help me reach my goals?" Review my goal board more than once a day if needed. emoticon
emoticon Make small easy changes and then gradually add to them. For me this means , break it down into smaller pieces and stop trying to do it all at once.

Run my excuses by my accountability partner, she can be my excuse buster if I am rationalizing poor choices. emoticon

Finally I need to have a plan B. I need to store some easy healthy choices of food in the house for those days when I just don't want to cook and the fast foods and chocolate/sweets are calling my name. That will make it easier to say no. emoticon

I too have days where my motivation just isn't there. I often find during these days I have a little voice inside my head that keeps telling me how far I have to go, all the sacrifices I need to make and how awful it is that I am not making them. Does this sound familiar? It has taken me a long time but I am finally learning that thinking this way zaps your motivation. I have come to accept these days as part of the journey to improve my health and not as an excuse to throw up my hands in despair and quit trying. Bear in mind this takes time and patience but remember you are worth it. I have also found on these days I am better off not expecting much of myself. For example, rather then not eating your favorites, practice eating some of them -but practice eating them in moderation or maybe trying new ways to prepare them to make a healthier version of them. You may also want to try doing something really nice to yourself during these days. You know take yourself to a movie, get a massage or do something else that you enjoy. emoticon

I am with you. The cholesterol is under 200 but my triglycerides that are my problem along with the bad cholesterol.
I have taken statins and do not like them. I know they can do good for others but I do not like how I feel.
You must JUST SAY NO !!! SAY YES emoticon
I used Niacin, Krill oil(THE FISH OIL always makes my mouth taste fish oil all day )
I eat right and instead of it going down it is going up.
You must JUST SAY NO !!! not doing your exercise. I am house bound and too cold to go outdoors. emoticon
I am on a plateau and I know if I can get a few pounds off it will help it did till it Plateaued. Now I will be tracking and eating because triglycerides are now considered the worst part of the lipid profile.

. Find your better choices and learn to love it for your health's sake. I am getting back to doing it right. Winter has been awful and it made me slip on the ice and that made me feel sorry for myself and slipped up with my good eating plan too

To those foods that have made us this way. I had a diagnosis of High blood pressure. high blood sugar-Type 2 diabetes and the cholesterol has been the stubborn one.
I am off medication for Diabetes and high blood pressure but still the Dr says it has to go down.

I remember a news item last month saying that someone had found that cholesterol in food doesn't drive blood cholesterol up as much as they use to think so maybe ask your doctor.

As for staying motivated to stick to a specific diet, if it's too much of a change from what you've been eating sticking with it is hard. Rather than change I try to substitute for higher cholesterol things, like using 1% milk and Earth Balance margarine instead of eliminating them. Or I just eat less of something I like that's not so good for me and fill up on veggies. Sometimes it's the challenge to find substitutes and work arounds that keeps me motivated.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.--Socrates

When I first get the High cholesterol report I am very intent on getting those numbers down so I take my fish oil and eat a cholesterol lowering diet. I take my daily walk and do my other exercises at least twice a week. Then, after a couple of weeks I start wanting the foods that drive up the cholesterol like take-out pizza, Ice cream, butter on my bread rather than olive oil and Benecol. I find myself thinking, just a little bit which turns into more than a bit.

I'll be having that cholesterol check again May 1st. I would so much like it to be down. The past two times it has gone up. My good cholesterol is great but I've got to get the bad stuff down, so how do I stay motivated? Suggestions anyone?
