I wear ballet shoes, they are reinforced on ball and heel and don't move about like the dance paws.

If I'm on a hard floor, then the sneakers might be good. I'll look for them. Thanks for the idea!

I've taken a few classes and workshops where several ladies are wearing sneakers, regular sneakers. There are some cool "hip-hop" sneakers that have extra tread on the ball and heel of the foot, leaving the arch more flexible that could be good.

Get your shimmy on!

I like the dance sandals that lace up. I forget what they are called. The ones I have are from Danshuz and have a little extra sole on the heel area. I replaced the strings with softer leather ones. There are a couple other companies/people that make them, with different thickness of soles & materials. I've seen people wear jazz dance shoes to class for extra support while still giving flexibilty

Wood and wood laminate flooring cover my dance areas at home. I've had a lot of surgeries on my feet, so I have to limit the amount of time I'm barefoot. Until I can afford a small area rug, I'm wondering if there are shoes that will keep my feet padded a bit.

If you've had some experience with shoes, tell me what you've discovered!
