Maree, 200 morels? What do you do with all these wild mushrooms? Do you dry them for use during the winter?

Kate, do you think you're allergic to something in your house? (I've had episodes of mold in the house in the spring, and I have to find it and kill it to stop reacting!) That's a lot of steps when you aren't feeling great.

Nell, I'm so sorry you had another rough morning. I hope your medication kicks in soon, this really is wearing you down! (And that tenant sounds appalling!!!! Is there some law that mandates landlords must accept tenants who don't have a good rental history? No wonder our landlord's rental company did a background and credit check on us!!!

Cindy, I feel your you and your family - I hope things work out for your niece and nephew. It's always such a tough decision whether to stay together and ride out the disagreements, or to make a clean break - and even more complicated when children are involved. The ramen story is kind of funny, though! (We were in a hotel where the fire alarms went off about midnight one night, someone burned their microwave popcorn!)

Donna, happy to hear you had a fun day with your golfing!

Sunny, sometimes just paying bills and doing house stuff feels like a major accomplishment!

Toni, morning yoga sounds like a great way to start your day. (What exactly is restorative yoga versus regular yoga?)

NancyAnne, don't get the J&J vaccine if you can help it - I personally think the problems with it are some kind of interaction between oral contraceptives and the vaccine, but with your recent vein surgery, you probably want to avoid a vaccine that may be related to causing blood clots! Glad the builders will change out the outlet - are you any closer to getting the closing done?

Sue, couldn't the place schedule you and your DH for vaccinations at the same time? That's kind of crazy that you had an appreciable amount of time between the two!!! Yeah, I thought about taking this afghan down to the dock, but I don't have a backpack large enough to carry it. I may need to find a box to ship it! It's double yarn so it's really cushy, and large enough to fit a king size bed - so about 2 m wide by 2.5 m long? I'm on the last double skein, should finish tomorrow.

A neighbor who DH has befriended, and I've chatted with, came by today and ended up staying an hour while DH took our car to a mechanic just for his usual check up. We like to do that prior to a long trip. Anyway, this woman has been through a lot (messy divorce from an abusive husband) so I had the feeling she needed to talk. And having worked crisis phone lines and crisis outreach, well, it wasn't exactly a therapy session but I did suggest she seek out some options for therapy to help her deal with things.

But I got a whole lot of crocheting done while we talked! I also sent some unused food items home with her - one of the immediate problems is that her ex found where she lives and had her car repossessed, just out of spite. So she doesn't have a vehicle at the moment. (My friend down the street told me she has a friend with an old junker that still runs, and she's going to give it to this woman.) Yeah, everyone is trying to help out, but given everyone's normal lives as well as the limitations of living in a pandemic, things are sort of limited.

It was quite an afternoon!

Kate - Exactly why I was trying to ward off a cold or anything else. With 14.000 steps I would think that you did accomplish something yesterday! Hope that the allergies clear up for you.

Phebess - Good luck getting the afghan finished. Crocheting does often go much faster than knitting so no doubt you'll be able to keep to your planned timeline. Could you crochet while out on the dock? Our knitting group meets in the park during the summer and it's kind of nice to be able to work at our projects in lovely surroundings.

Nell - Here's hoping the infusion has you on the road to good health as soon as possible. I can't imagine how anyone could live with all that garbage! Unbelievable! emoticon

Cindy - It's amazing how some things just "happen" sometimes. Glad that you had the chance to chat with your niece and hoping that they are able to work everything out for the best for everyone.

Donna - Glad that you enjoyed your golfing! I just heard that golf courses here are beginning to book tee times hoping that they'll be able to re-open soon. Very dull here today with lots of rain this morning - just one of those cool damp days.

Sunny - Nice that the neighbours didn't mind your hubby trimming back branches that were encroaching on your property. Some people can be difficult about things like that.

Nancy Anne - It was so dull and rainy here at times this morning we had to turn on lights in our family room that has two good sized windows and a patio door. Having a good cry can be very cathartic when dealing with a great deal of stress. Glad that you can easily have the extra plug fixed. Sometimes it's hard to imagine just where we're going to want all those outlets when planning out a house. I would hope the builder or company would at least split the cost of dealing with the radon in a home that they just built. I certainly will be able to find patterns more easily in the future - once I get everything labelled which I won't do until I get all the patterns organized in case I have to switch anything around. Still need to come up with a little bit of something to declutter yet today so I could tackle another one of the folders. I'll see. I can imagine that other family members would be happy to receive copies of favourite recipes from a relative. That's a nice gift!

Hubby and I got our first vaccine shot this afternoon. Fortunately the rain had stopped but it was still a rather cool wait in the car for me anyway. I took a book to read to pass the time. We probably could have easily gone separately - we had enough time as everything was going smoothly and hubby would have been home in plenty of time for me to drive over for my appointment. Hubby asked the nurse if he'd get a band aid with a happy face so she drew a little happy face on it which he noticed after we got home and I took a picture of his arm for him. He thought it was hilarious! I didn't even get a band aid - not that I needed one. Ran into one of the knitting group members who was there just ahead of me with her hubby and we had a bit of time to catch up, mainly while we were in the rest area waiting to check out afterwards. I expect I'll feel fine tomorrow but was glad that today's workout video was the one with weights in case my arm is sore. Our daughter called this morning so we had a nice chat. Hubby hadn't talked to her for a while because the last time she called me, I was at mom's. Should go figure out something to declutter here that WON'T take my 30 minutes. Maybe tackling another knitting folder is the way to go.

Have a good evening!

Hello and happy Wednesday! Im envying those of you with stunning weather- Its raining here!

Cindy, your niece is being prayed for here in Indiana! I am specifically asking that this somehow works out to be a good thing. Yeah- I know thats a stretch!

Kate- I am sorry you are still dealing with a sore throat and hope it really is just allergies that abate quickly.

Sunny- Thank you for asking how I am holding up. The truth is that I curled up on the bed and cried for a while yesterday morning. My husband was not in ear shot. It accomplishes nothing but increasing his anxiety level to see me like that. Afterwards I actually felt better- For me, there is something cleansing and stress-relieving in tears.
Isnt it indeed how fast weeds spring up, even when everything else is struggling to grow?

Sue- So very glad to hear you have no cold symptoms and are in the clear for your first Covid shots!
While your organizing of the knitting patterns took longer than expected, Im betting it will save you more time than that in the future. I did something similar with my most frequently used recipes, then made copies of the book for the women in our family on Christmas. They were very well received!

Phebe- I am considering a vaccination, just so that there wont be any potential hiccups with going out to see mom. Although I do worry about the lack of long-term testing. I really do have a bad feeling about it for myself.

The radon abatement people came out. The good news is that they can easily install it and therefore squeeze us in late on Friday. The bad news is that it's pretty expensive. We're asking the building company to cover half, but are not hopeful that will happen. We're not positive it's needed to close the loan but don't want to take the chance that anything else will hold it up. Also, we just want the peace of mind.

The builder stopped by to visit with Sam when he saw him out mowing yesterday. I explained that the only outlet in the base of the island is being red-flagged and will need to be changed to GFC. I asked if they could install another one closer to the island surface when they do so. He said no problem. Yay! Of all of the things I wish I'd of thought to ask them to do differently, that's #1.

Time to run and make some dinner. BJ is here and will be returned to his house after. We picked him up at his Day program about 5 minutes away- One of the big reasons for moving!

Have a blessed rest-of-your Wednesday!

Nell What happened in that unit is crazy. How do people live that way? If I was him I would also sell! Hope your resting! You are in my thoughts!

Cindy Im so sorry about your niece. They probably moved out because they thought it would help the marriage. Its good 5hat you can be there for her.

Donna I knew I was over 10,000 steps. I had a trip to Costco, the grocery store, the gym for yoga and two walks. Today Im trying to get caught up on my to do list. Its 11:00 and Ive done almost 9000 steps.

Good afternoon.

I have a few things on my schedule today, but it started with a slow morning and then a very restorative yoga class. I also managed to prune back a partly dead plantI think from deer damagethat looks like it is coming back. And at this stage at least it doesnt look like a jumbled mess, just short.

Glad to see nice weather and agree with Bess, wish we could ship it to the whole world.

Maree no turkeys but lovely mushrooms to use

Bess have a great day

Econ glad you are feeling better

Nell renting has become a real challenge these days between crazy people and odd rules.

Cindy my heart just goes out to you worrying about the family. You just want people you love to find happiness

Donna getting out on the links really put a note of joy in your words, ckeatly you could do this again

The DH worked hard outside yesterday trimming branches off the neighbors trees that hang in our yard, it looks better but what a lot of work. Then we got food from a food truck which was good but I am not that fond of food trucks.

Nell do continue to take care

I am going off for a walk with a neighbor and plan to work on paying bills today. Nothing exciting but it will be good to get them both done

Morning all on this cloudy day with rain expected later so not quite the same as you today Cindy.
So sorry to hear about all the issues with your nephew and his family. This is a really hard one for young people and especially when children are involved. Lets hope they can make the right decision. It is not always best for couples to stay together as we all know. Life is long if we are not happy. We will keep them in our prayers.
Such a hassle for your niece about the keys. Thank goodness she had her wallet and wonderful family to help get through the dealership problems

Nell, I sure hope it does not take a month for you to feel better. As for the tenant with the filthy condo that is unbelievable. It had to have had an effect on the surrounding tenants. How can people live like that.

Kate glad to hear you are doing better. How in the world could you put on 14,000 steps and not know it! You must have a very large home. Haha

Busy Bess....hope we hear from you later.

Maree I too would like to know how you keep that many mushrooms.

I had a wonderful day yesterday. It felt so good to be out once again but my body sure knows I did something different. My game was not awful but sure not like before so it is a good thing I was not expecting much. I will definitely be going out again soon.

Good Wednesday morning.

First off, I just have to say: The full moon this month has been just amazing! Don't know if it looks the same all across the country and Canada, but here it is in the south this month, and even brighter than usual. Just beautiful. Plus, it didn't give me any migraines, so I'm not mad at it, LOL.

Maree, I just have to know what you do with SO MANY mushrooms!?? Do you dry some of them? Give them away? It just doesn't seem like you two could eat that many fresh all by yourselves. How do they differ in taste from the plain old little white mushrooms they sell at the store? I'm curious...

Kate, glad you're feeling pretty OK, and hope you finish getting over the side effects soon. What shape/design are your current cookies?

Nell, I'm praying for you! So hard when all you can do is just try to hold it together! And wow, those tenants you told about!! How can people live like that??

Nancyanne, I'm sorry you've had such a crazy time with this whole move! That's a lot of stress. Glad your DH can balance things out with his being able to relax about the whole thing a bit more. Hopefully soon it will all be done, and things will smooth out for you.

Bess, I envy your sail, it sounds lovely. I hope all goes well with your day, and you get caught up on whatever needs catching up.

Donna, looks like you and I have a few lovely days to look forward to, weather-wise. I hope you can get out and enjoy them. I think of you often, caring for your DH, and missing how things used to be...

Well, God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. Yesterday I got a text from my niece. Her purse containing her car keys and apartment key was stolen from her friend's car. Thankfully she had her wallet and phone on her person, so didn't have to deal with cancelling credit cards, replacing ID, etc. BUT, her car is new and has one of those push-button starters, where you don't even insert the key into a keyhole. Much more difficult to get a replacement key for. And she happened to have the spare key in the purse as well. She had to have the car towed to the dealership, where it will take until this evening for them to get it rekeyed. She said it will cost over $500, and she was going to have to get a rental car on top of that. So DH and I agreed for me to go pick her up at her apartment, drive her here, and then loan her our car so she could pick my nephew and the Littles up from the airport last night, get the kids here this morning, and herself and nephew to work today, and then back here. Then we will go along to the dealership, so we can bring our car back. So, that was a very long-winded way to tell you that God worked it out so we had a wonderful chance to visit in person, and talk about what's gone wrong. We are praying our hearts out for these guys right now, and anyone who wants to add their prayers will be welcome to join us! They are having big relationship troubles, and making the tough decisions about whether to stick together or split up. Huge, life-changing things to contemplate.

So, we'll see how things go with the Littles today. At the very least, they'll have some interesting stories to tell about their first flight in a real airplane. Niece told me that the plane broke, and the airline put them up in a hotel for the night they were supposed to fly out, and then they flew the next morning. And that Little#1 tried to cook Ramen noodles without any water in the hotel microwave and nearly caused a fire.

Sorry to be so long-winded today! But the internet was working up to speed, and I just needed to share. Now, off to start this day! Hope it's a wonderful one for each of you!

Cindy

I had a very bad morning. Today's infusion can't come too soon. It will take over a month for the new drug to have any effect, best get started.

It's going up to 90 today. I haven't turned on the AC yet, I have had to postpone my spring AC check twice because of medical issues, but at least I can do it. Over at the condo the AC is central and we are doing a major repipe in 2 buildings so they can't have AC yet. It will be another week and a half. One unit in one of those buildings is having to do a health cleanout, the owners had to pay a company to go in with moonsuits because of the filth. They rent to low income tenants, they have to rebuild every 2 years, this time they are going to just rebuild and sell. Because of the eviction moratorium the owners couldn't get rid of them, the sheriff finally came out last week to change the locks, but no one could go in without safety gear. The tenants hadn't taken out trash in over two years, their dog had done his business in the unit for over 2 years. How do people live like that?

I envy all of you who have lists of stuff to accomplish. I'm just trying to hold it together.

Just a spot of insomnia. Yesterday 8 felt like I didnt accomplish anything and then I realized I had 14,000 steps. I must have done something. Today Ill work harder on my list. Except for a sore arm and a scratchy throat I feel fine. I think the sore throat is allergies because it goes away when Im gone.

Take care!

Everything ran late yesterday and I didn't finish a task that needs to be done by 10 a.m. so I'm just dashing through to say hello. I will try to get back again later this afternoon and catch up with everyone.

We're having glorious weather - the kind I wish I could share with the whole world.

Good morning! Hump day!

I stepped out on the back deck to experience 70° and humidity, a preview of summer!
I think that's the high though. A sail sounds good, Bess. When DH and I went out on the John boat last weekend, the 53° water temperature made for a chilly boat ride. Bright sunshine made it all worthwhile.

DH reported zero turkeys but over 200 morel mushrooms yesterday. Rain on and off all day today.

Cindy, I hope your niece feels comfortable sharing her troubles with you soon -- it could be anything, but she should surely know by now that you are a safe person who has her entire family's best interest at heart. Sometimes we just need a good listener--same goes for you with those friends of yours, Bess.

How was golf, Donna!? So happy for you to be back doing something you love!

Glad to hear of the improvement, Nell.

A day at a time, Nancy Anne. You'll get to the finish line eventually!

I better get this posted and dress for crossfit class. Hope all have a great day and stay healthy!
