Welcome back to Bess, Jamir, Poindextra, and Econlady! (Though we did get to see those cookies from the cruise.)

Nell, your story about the grandson is amazing - too bad they couldn't do the surgery sooner so he could have done better in school!

We likely have settled on South America, and I think I've talked DH into a cruise around the southern tip so we can sort of skirt the edge of Antarctica - I'm more excited about this than he is!

Welcome home, Bess!
Sorry for the wait on the move, Nell.
Congratulations to everyone for maintaining and to our hubbies for losing!

We went to SC this weekend to see my in-laws, and were pleasantly surprised to see 2 of 3 situations there better than we expected. Both hubby and I lost a little on the trip, even with Saturday night dinner at Duke's BBQ. I'm still 6 pounds over goal though, and am convinced that at least 3 of it is lack of throughput. I see the dietician on 10/15, and in the meantime am trying to eat a little under budget to see if that helps.

I'm on the treadmill topping off my steps for the day. Gotta go do my Yoga and get to bed!

Maintenance is as much work as losing, but it has the advantage of allowing us to do it in cuter clothes - BESSHAILE

Late check in for me too as I went to the pool this morning and had a few things to do before leaving. This afternoon is a medical appointment for hubby.

We went and saw Downton Abbey yesterday. When I say we I meant thst I went with a friend. Dh would not have enjoyed it and I donít think anyone would if they had not watched the series. I loved the older ladies. They were hilarious.

Congrats to your hubby Maree on his three pant size weight loss. Good for him.

Nell thst is hard to,believe that that poor young man had to suffer like that when he was young. Thank goodness they were able to find out what was wrong. He has a much better life ahead of him now.

Stiggy you are in the same path as the snow in Alberta. Letís hope it doesnít stay. Itís way too soon.

Bess, great to have walked around your property and enjoy being back home. Hope your hubby feels better soon. Thank goodness this did not happen on the trip.

Kelli, good for you for making those appointments. Us, yiu are a big girl now so go and make that pedicure appointment.

Good Morning!

Its 41 degrees today and no longer snowing. Because of the warm temperatures, we had a lot of snow yesterday, but it melted as soon as it hit the ground in most places. I had to give up wearing shorts. I knew it was coming, but I hated giving up shorts.

Today, I'm taking Bernie to Missoula to a doctor appointment. She wants to have lunch today in Missoula. Thats ok because if I don't take her to lunch before the appointment, she'll want it at 3 in the afternoon. I don't eat at that time because I ate lunch at noon and I still have to worry about making dinner for my husband. So it works better.

Our second flight was delayed 45 minutes, so we got in at midnight. Got home around and I got to sleep at 2. Not a restful sleep. My friend went to leave and her car wouldnít start. Hubby is out giving her a hand. Sheís a dear friend, but Iím no help to the situation. Today is grocery shopping, laundry and physical therapy.

Take care everyone!

Wow Hats off to DH Maree!

Welcome back to those that have been traveling. Love reading about your adventures.

I had planned on booking a pedicure appointment but gave myself a talking to.... not until you reschedule that dental cleaning you missed when you were sick and schedule the annual physical exam.

I hate going to the doctor, the older I get, the more sickness I see around me, I get this nervous feeling like 'when is it my turn'. Didn't help that over the weekend, I went to a memorial for a 47 year old woman with no health issues that we knew of. Coroners report came back inconclusive.

But I'm being a big girl and making the phone calls in between meetings this morning.

Happy Monday y'all!

Good morning! Just a quick hi from me this morning. My vacay was lovely, but really could've used an extra day. Happy last day of September 2019 - hard to believe that it's almost the holiday season! Have a great day, all!

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the welcome back.

Maree - the dogs were ecstatic! Mega congratulations to your DH! 3 pant sizes! woo woo!
Nell - wow! I had no idea adenoids could cause such issues. How wonderful that your grands can sleep the night through now.
Toni - not surprised the lake is low. Leaves are falling off our trees as if it were November. I will water 3 of them but I can't water a whole forest. And still no rain in sight!
Phebess - you got it about loving people without understanding them. Sister has always been an odd duck - well - aren't we all - but she is of a different feather. Have you picked a summer spot to stay warm in this winter?
Donna - what movie did you go see?
Bea - oh man - snow! I'd take precipitation in any form - snow, rain - now that the beans are harvested, even hail. This place is as dry as west texas
Econlady - I"m glad you got that cruise in then if it's the last one.

The dogs really are happy to see us. We took them for a long walk the moment we got home and did a circumnavigation of the farm to say hello to everything. Good thing, too, because DH woke in the night with an attack of gout. Providential that it didn't happen a day earlier. We'd still be out there in western VA because .... I would not drive on I-81 for love or money. I know my limits. He had the meds for it and spent the day in bed. I did lots of laundry and then just walked around the house loving every inch. I'm always glad to get home from a trip, but this time seemed even more intense.

I'm taking advantage of this extreme break in routine to tweak that routine a little. I feel like I've gotten addicted to one of those silly match-3 computer games that I can play on an old i-pad mini. It's totally mindless and I can spend half an hour fiddling on it - more than once a day! I end up with bleary eyes and a sense of sadness at the unrecoverable loss of time. A long car trip gives one time to think about things, especially if the road noise makes it hard to talk. I've decided to delete the game. It will be interesting what gets to claim that lost time.

Scale says I did well on this trip - now let's see if I can do better!

Believe it
Do it
Become it

Good morning!

Nell, what a wonderful change for your grandson and how thrilling for himóand all of you that he is so energized now.

Itís remarkable what your DH has accomplished this year, Maree. What fun to see the difference in clothing sizes.

I had a quiet weekend, but yesterday kayaked with a friend for about an hour and a half. It was glorious and pretty on the lake. Our lake is low and I needed help to get the kayak up on the dock afterwards, but itís a big lake and there was plenty of room to paddle. I also had a swim, but it is getting chilly. Lower night temps must be bringing it down.

Welcome home Bess, Jamir, and Econ! Sunny, I hope you are feeling welcome in your new home. And Phebess, are you itching to leave the NW already? And Donna, what did you decide to see?

Toni

Great day yesterday.

DH's son and his wife came by to visit. My DGS is headed off to AmeriCorps in California this week. He didn't have a great high school career, he just couldn't get out of bed. They had him to shrinks, they hired tutors, he was able to get into a college for next year but needed a year to "grow up". Well they took him to an ENT who removed his adenoids, he also had a deviated septum. It was a dramatic surgery, and the result is that DGS is able to sleep well for the first time in his life. He bounces out of bed in the morning ready to go. The ENT said he couldn't have done the surgery when DGS was younger because he was still growing, but what a difference! He is a whole new young man!

DS#3 came by with his wife and kids for a quick visit. DGD, 5 years old, had her tonsils and adenoids removed a couple of months ago. She is now sleeping through the night for the first time in her life. Amazing!

Good morning!

Welcome back Bess. Sounds like it was a very interesting trip! I can just imagine the reunion with your puppy dogs!
It's always great to be home, Econlady! Hope the final leg of your trip went well.
After dinner last night, DH and I shopped for some new clothes for him, starting with Goodwill, Burlington, Marshalls. He has dropped 3 pants sizes and they now fall off of him when zipped and buttoned. One pair of Levi's and a couple of t-shirts. I could tell he was enjoying it. All those 2X tall Duluth shirts he got for Christmas last year are way too big now. We'll box them up, but hang on to them for awhile anyway.

Liquid biopsies to detect 20 different cancers in the news this morning. Whether to have the blood test is controversial as you might expect. They didn't report on the cost or whether it's covered by health insurance.

Tough crossfit workout ahead.

Hope all have a great day!
