Phebess, maybe it is good thst the train was late so your hubby could find his way to pick you up. I did chuckle when I read thst.

I had no idea that Bellingham consisted of four towns. No wonder I canít find anything when I go there.

One of these days you will have to tell me the story.

Jamir, stay safe, and I hope Dorian goes in the other direction or something! Take care!

Train coming back on Thursday evening was 2.5 hrs late, so I didn't get in until midnight. And DH was calling me on the train because he got lost on the way to the train station, and I had to give him directions over the phone. This is why I do most of the driving in Bellingham - it's a town that once was four separate towns, so one street will have multiple names, and often the grid of streets suddenly changes directions because that's where two towns merged. It's weird and quirky and confusing to someone who doesn't really know the town well. Plus the new roundabouts that are supposed to speed up traffic make life confusing for everyone.

So, bed time!

Hi folks,

Packing and moving and cookies and hurricanes, Oh my! Seriously, all of that stuff is hard. I hope the storm passes you by, Jamir. Sunny, glad you have a planned break from the packing. Nell, I hope they get their permits soon so you can get the move over with!

I'm pacing the house to get my steps in. Had a nice dinner with Hubby at Houlihan's tonight. He had the impossible burger (pretty good!) And I had the small portion of Georges Bank scallops, served with a scoop of risotto, a pouf of arugula, and a sprinkle of cojita cheese. Delish, and only 350 calories. Then we went to Costco dor the weekly supplies. It was a lot busier tonight than the usual Friday, I guess for the holiday weekend coming up.

Now off to do my yoga and get to bed.
Sleep well!

Maree how fun to have your walking buddy around for the weekend. Enjoy
Bess I love having the car detailed. I think about it then totally forget to plan it in my schedule.
Toni the scallops and peppers sound wonderful. I may pick some up from the fish market on Sunday.
Nell nothing is easy when you are caring for someone with dementia. I hope it all goes well.
Econ planning the cookies is a lot of work. A cookie cruise how fun is that.
Jamir just sending prayers and supportive thoughts.
Kellie you definitely need the down time. Enjoy
Donna I think there are pounds just hiding in the car so when you go on a long trip they just attach themselves to you. Glad your having fun with friends.
Bea hope that the weekend is great.

Today is Friday and we are up to our eyeballs in boxes and I mean that literally. We are frantically trying to empty shelves and sometimes I think the gnomes bring in more stuff at night. The packing is at a high energy rate through Saturday. Then DH and I are taking a break on Sunday and Monday to go visit open Art Studios in Santa Barbara while the realtor holds open house. I have done this art studio tour before and you visit little old houses, beach shacks, wonderful fancy beach condos, expensive houses on the hill overlooking the ocean and art galleries. It is a lot of fun and the weather is going to be warm but not hot, just perfect.

I will be back on Tuesday

Good Morning!

We'll be leaving for Church Family Camp pretty soon. Once we leave the main road, we'll no longer have cell phone coverage. No tech weekend! Good Inspiration! Food that is too good and too fattening! Lots of fun and relaxation!

Jamir, stay safe and hopefully the hurricane will beer away from you. You are prepared as much as you can be.
I too agree with leftovers. We eat them all the time and sometimes they are even better the next day. So much less waste too.

Econolady, I hope you are feeling better today. Cookie cruise sounds pretty awesome!

Toni, I am so pleased about the good news with your daughter. I am sure the whole family is breathing easier.

Bess, a detailed car is just like a new car. I think it is time for me to consider that for sure.

Mare, what a great walking buddy yiu have to get up that early. Have a great weekend.

We are having lunch today with a friend who is visiting from New Zealand. We are both looking forward to catching up with her. Also planning on meeting friends for dinner tonight. I certainly hope that works out.

I havenít been able to weigh myself since we got here and I am sure it will not be good news. You just know when you donít feel the same. We will be home a week today and life will get back to normal.

Have a wonderful long weekend everyone!

Hi all! I was watching the news this morning and thinking of you Jamir!! Safe thoughts going to you and yours!

I'm such a weirdo about workouts Bess. Yesterday at work, I was hoping the slight chance of rain predicted would come through and that would give me an excuse to go home. But no, blue skies and sun so I made it to the group run and was glad I did.

Enjoying my day off so far, slept in a couple hours after saying goodby to DH when heh left for work at 5:30. Just had some egg and avocado mash on toast, watching some episodes of Schitt's Creek and then I'm going to the doctor to see if I have an eye infection. Darn these fall allergies.

When I get home, Yoga With Adriene and some reading time. Then I'll think about my September Spark Yoga challenge.

TGIF!

Good morning! I made it to work despite having SO MUCH TO DO. I have stuff scheduled from 8:30-11. We'll see if people show. I believe the first one is here.

Dorian is very likely to hit us at this point. The track has shifted, but still has it coming dead up the middle of the state and the vast majority of the spaghetti models show it doing so. I managed to top off my gas tank this morning without too much more hassle than usual at a busy gas station. My tank is on the passenger side - makes it very hard to jockey for a spot when 90% of cars are on the other side. I've bought so much gas (cans, the guy's car, filling my dad's truck) that my first credit card that I've been using denied the transaction. Switched cards and got it. Dad and the guy will be prepping generators and filling cans today. We popped into Sam's last night and got some food stuffs to get us through. We didn't need much.

Nell - I don't get the leftover thing either. The guy's dad was like that and passed that along to the guy. He has since gotten over it because I'm not cooking a meal every night after 9+ hours at work and 3+ hours in a car. I batch cook on the weekends, typically, and we eat off that for the week.

I got to get going! Have a great day, all! I'll try to pop on if cell phones are up with an update.

Nell I canít understand not liking leftovers. I love them! Hubby and I have leftovers for lunch almost every day.

Yesterday I started some notes for my my cookie class. It helped with the anxiety. Iíll probably start a list for my trip. I leave on my trip three weeks from today. Iím doing a cookie decorating cruise with my best friend.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning.

I have to figure out how to get Mom out of her apartment long enough so the moving consultant can assess the job. I'm not used to trying to fool Mom, though I'm sure I spun my share of tall tales when I was young.

My son who works there gets a meal every day as one of his benefits. I've been accustomed to making extra food every night and giving him the leftovers, it's time to start cooking for two again. It's harder than it sounds, my husband won't eat leftovers.

I have a haircut today, a week late because my hairdresser has been on vacation. I am so ready!

Good morning!

Crazy nightís sleep last night. I was so tired from an active day and thought Iíd sleep like a rock. Not so. Nap in the picture for later today.

I had fun with a cooking adventure last evening. I had some scallops to cook, but not veggies, or so I thought at first. Then I checked out my crisper drawer and found a couple of peppersóred and green. I checked the internet for a scallops and peppers recipe and voila. It included onion and garlic with a bit of lemon and lime zest which I also had, and all of it sautťd in little olive oil. The meal was amazing. And we ate outside on a pretty night.

And along with all my fall planning is a new commitment to getting back to low goal weight over next month or so.

Thanks, Maree - I did let them know about the many prayers being offered up for Mac. It is an added benefit and another lesson in how connected we are.
Thank you everyone else, too, for the cheers about my first sale.
Phebess - hope you're enjoying your overnight trip
Bea - It's fun to watch the next generation come along, isn't it?
Econlady - I'm sorry your having so much pain. I hope you feel better today
Kellie - you inspire me to get up off my laziness and start working out more regularly. Thanks for that gift
Donna - this is a long visit you're making to your extended family. I hope every day is a joy for you
Jamirblaze - sending you lucky juju that the hurricane heads back out to sea - or at the worst, only hits with minimal damage
Toni - that's wonderful news about your daughter. A real occasion for doing the happy dance. Enjoy your low key weekend.
Nell - way to go for exercising your engineering skills. And thanks for the explanation about the concierge doctor service. I've got a sweater on this a.m. it's so cool

I woke at 1:30 this a.m. and never could get back to sleep. Read. Tried some of my sleep tricks. Eventually I got up and here I am but I know a nap is on my schedule for today. I had the car completely detailed yesterday, including having the upholstery shampooed. I used to get it done once a year but that was when I was in town. Boy it needed it when I took it in but boy oh boy - it looks like a new car now.

Enjoy your FridayFridayFriday everyone!

Good morning! It's Friiiidaaay!

Congratulations, Bess!! I wondered if you let that family know that there are a lot of people praying for that soldier's safety, just an added benefit to a beautiful portrait!

Nell, those movers sound perfect for the job.

Jamirblaze, I hope Dorian's impact lessens as it moves toward FL. Glad you're prepared and have a handle on the chimney repair.

Econlady, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope cookie project goes well and gives you a boost!

Kellie, enjoy your time off!! I'm very happy to have some time off from "werk"!

High fives to the rest of the group! I need to dress for walking with my visiting TX fitness buddy, leaving here at 4:45, then I'll do 6 am crossfit, then 8 am blood donation.

Hope all have a great day!!
