Good Morning!

I don't have too much planned today. As usual, I walked 2.5 miles this morning. It was a little later than usual because, I slept in a bit. So, since school started, there is more traffic on the streets. I don't like the added traffic, but I do like greeting kids on their way to school. This morning I greeted a kid and his mom on their way to school. He might have been in K. He wasn't too excited. I said something like, "Only big kids get to go to school"

Iím glad you are enjoying the idea of a weekend, but every day is Saturday to me.

Iím sorry for being so quiet. Iím not sleeping well. Itís a combination of pain and anxiety. My shoulder is hurting enough I canít do exercise classes or even yoga at home. Also, Iím anxious about my cookie for the competition. Itís a big stretch in my skills. I started last night so hopefully Iíll find my answers.

I love reading your stories and being a part of your lives, but in the morning Iím so tired I canít concentrate to comment.

Please have a great day everyone!

Hi all! It's my Friday too Maree!! Still at my PTO ceiling. I know, rough problem to have!

emoticon

Thinking of you Jamir. I'm so happy my daughter and SIL moved back from Florida. I know you are experienced and prepared but keeping you and your family in my thoughts!

I plan to do some morning yoga, read my book and head to a pedicure.

Low energy day yesterday. I celebrated National Red Wine day with a glass of Cab, some grapes, chicken lunchmeat and crackers. DH wasn't home so I relaxed with a snacky snack dinner.

Then I pulled myself up for Jessica Smith's 30-min Dance Party video. Then I figured out how to load a tv channel app on our Apple TV so I could start watching the latest season of Schitt's Creek. A crazy little show I'm addicted to on Netflix but the latest season is not available until October so I went to the source.

Big positive-day vibes going out to all!

Morning all, itís a lovely sunny day so that is good as it is the rehearsal this evening. We are not going but I will definitely be helping Doreen with food and cleaning.

Maree, what a busy week you have ahead. Enjoy all,the family time. I hope the weather cooperates for you.

Phebess enjoy Seattle. I think it is a wise choice to take the train as I am sure the highways will be even busier with the long weekend.

Toni, yeah for a quiet weekend for you. It has been a busy year for you.

Nell, it sounds like you have everything looked after for your Momís move. Do you know yet when she is moving?

Jamir, letís hope the hurricane slides by you. Sorry about the chimney but st least you know now where the leak is originating

Bess, congratulations on your first successful commission. What a lovely way to celebrate. I think you live in Heaven!

Yesterday I got paid for my first commissioned portrait and it was the most amazing feeling. I'm still smiling. DH was as happy for me as I was and we decided to have a celebration dinner.

Only - we didn't want to go anywhere. So we dashed into town and picked up Chinese take-out and came home to enjoy it on the porch along with celebratory wine. I confess - we imbibed too much - at least enough to not want any breakfast today - but it was such a happy evening. We sat on the porch, read a little poetry, talked about art and success and things to be grateful for and things to look forward to. We savored the evening sun. There had been quite a cloud cover but as our star sank below the treeline I kept noticing how the light changed and wanted to see how it looked if I walked out to the field for a wide vista. The trees that rim that field, along the lane, face northwest and were lit by slanting rays, turning them from deep forest green to a golden bronze green. As the sun sank the angle slowly shifted so that you could actually see the rotation of the earth. This is only the second time I've ever been able to watch the world turn. It was a magnificent ending to a thrilling day.

Believe it
Do it
Become it

Good morning! Happy Friday Eve! I have another people event today, but usually not as crazy as the one yesterday. I'm kind of exhausted. I'm an introvert that can fake it, but it can take a lot out of me.

Thanks again all for the birthday wishes!

So Dorian - I'm not on the coast (I'm near Mount Dora, almost due north of Orlando), so no storm surge. However, FL is a skinny state, so right now, it looks to track just south of us and will still be a hurricane when it gets to our area. The north side of a hurricane is always the worse. Last night, the guy and I grabbed my dad, and we went and filled our gas supply for generators and filled his truck. My car is full, but I have to commute today and tomorrow, so will try to top off tomorrow evening. The guy is working from home today, and may take off tomorrow - so we can fill and keep his jeep full as his vehicle is the one that we'd use if there is debris. Our roof situation is now a confirmed chimney situation, and we know that the house is not water tight against water being beat against it at 70+ mph, so he'll be doing what he can for that. We have water and food.

I have been through MANY hurricanes and the track can totally change between now and Monday. We were supposed to get a dead on hit from Charlie in 2004, but it bobbled about 75 miles south at the last minute. We will get wind, rain and will probably lose power if it continues to track the way that it is currently predicted to do so. Question is how much and for how long?

Maree - I've seen chard sauteed as a preparation primarily. Hope your visiting family goes smoothly!

Nell - I assembled one of those carts for work recently - has come in very handy, so far.

I have to get to it. Good thing is that with the home opener football game today, I get to leave at 2, but get the hours until 5. They want us off campus.

Have a good one, all!

Good morning. Our mornings have been really chilly this last week.

I assembled the platform dolly yesterday, really easy. I don't know how tough it will be in use, but it only has to last through one job. I have to figure out a pretext for my nephew to get Mom out of her place for a couple of hours so the moving rep can come estimate the job. It's not just the cost, she has to know how much she is moving and to where. We won't be using their sorting service, but I will need some packing. They'll deliver to as many points as I want, but they have to know in advance so they can pack the truck accordingly. And they know all these retirement communities so they can reserve the elevator in each place.

A lot of PCP practices are going concierge, or at least that's what they call it. It's like a club, you sign an annual contract and pay a fee (mine is $2100), they only see a limited number of patients. The idea is that we'll get better care. We still send each visit to insurance for payment, but visits won't be so limited. The problem, beyond cost, is that it takes an entire group of doctors out of service for other people.

Lots of errands today in anticipation of the long weekend ahead.

Good morning!

Iím eager to jump into the weekend too, Maree. For us it will be quiet and since weíve had such a busy summeróa welcome quiet.

Our daughterís test results from her D & C came back and they were all normal, no cancer! We are relieved and happy.
Our Ďkidsí in Colorado are nesting and trying to get just enough furniture in their new house. At the moment it is a bit skimpy...a sofa and a bed in a 3 bedroom house! Imagine the possibilities, lol.
Are you excited about your new home and community, Sunny?
Jamir, I think of 50 as middle aged, or maybe 45? I just read about a new class in our area called Ďthe 100 Year Life Style.í. First Iíve heard of an educational approach to our greater longevity, but interesting concept. Meanwhile, what a wonderful age, 35.
Phebess, hope Seattle is lots of fun.
Really glad you have gotten such appropriate help with your momís move, Nell. You deserve it!
Bess, are your new shelves filling up?
Bea, last night was rotisserie chicken at our house too. Along with a bag of micro waveable green beans, voila. My DH loved the minimal clean up.
Everyoneóenjoy the labor day weekend. Iím cleaning cupboards, organizing my calendar and ordering fall shoes. It must be back to school time...

Toni

Good morning!

It's my Friiiidaaay! Five vacation days, plus the holiday ahead. Returning Mon, Sept 9. My TX fitness buddy will be in town this evening, so there will be a happy hour and we plan to walk tomorrow morning. Then I donate blood and will head to the houseboat. DH is going over today and will wash the boat. He mass cooked for the holiday and company we have coming--burgers, brats, taco meat and pulled pork.

We will be "over peopled", too. DH's daughter and her son arrive Fri evening (she will stay at MIL's house), DD and her family arrive Saturday morning, neice and her daughter will come for the day Sunday, and Monday morning we will have a 1st birthday party for grandson at MIL's house (I felt obligated to organize this). It's a sore subject--I'll leave it at that. Tues through Fri will be a staycation.

Jamirblaze, FL is in the news as Dorian approaches. I trust your area is safe--rain and wind Monday?

I, too, am unfamiliar with a concierge fee in connection with choosing a physician, Nell.

A gf gave me kale and chard from her garden. I don't think I have ever had chard. Open to your ideas.

I woke up way too early and am going to try to get a little more shut eye.

Hope all have a great day!
