Bess, I'm laughing at your dream - dinner where each course is chocolate sounds like my idea of heaven!!!!!

Econlady, I've had my shoulders freeze up like that, fortunately only one at a time. The easiest stretching I could figure out was to bend my arm at the elbow so I could raise my hand and hold onto a towel rack on the bathroom wall. Then I'd slowly back away to stretch out my arm and shoulder - absolutely couldn't move the shoulder otherwise. When I let go of the towel rack, my arm would snap back against my body. Very frustrating, but with the chiro working on you, and doings stretches a couple of times a day, you'll get full motion back. Just takes a while. (I had to have my husband help me dress and undress for several weeks before I could do it myself again.) It was a humbling experience.

DH had his chiropractor this morning, and PT this afternoon. I went to the chiro with him, because we go out for brunch after that (and I skip bkfst in the hotel, I don't want to fight crowds for my brekkie). Anyway, when he went off for PT later, I went out walking to Michael's to buy yarn needles - and of course some more yarn. Got in over 3 miles of walking by doing this - I do better with my walking when I have a destination!

I should send a photo - DH has fallen asleep with a bag of potato chips on his stomach. I'll go put it back in the kitchen when I close down the computer. He's sound asleep, LOL!

I heard the term "adulting" for the first time recently on the news, some college was offering a course in it. Maybe people don't raise their kids like that anymore, but my Dad drilled financial prudence into me right around the time I got my first dime from the tooth fairy. Household management was part of Home Ec. When I took Home Ec it was for girls only, boys took shop, which was forbidden to girls. They finally allowed boys and girls to take either back in the 70s, then dropped both as irrelevant. Evidently it wasn't if it has to be taught in college.

Good afternoon!

Checking in late and have to weigh in on the "adulting" idea. I have a t shirt that says "ADULT-ISH" . Always makes me smile. I've been an adult so long, don't remember how long I wanted to become one! If I had to guess it was probably thinking that when I grew up I could eat whatever I wanted! LOL

Merry Monday to all.

Good Morning

I'm taking Bernie to a doctor appointment this afternoon. She'' insist on eating at Cracker Barrel afterwards. Thankfully, her appointment is late afternoon, so it will be in the dinner hour when it happens. There has been times that she has 1PM appointment then want to eat because she hasn't eaten all day. This is usually around 3 in the afternoon. So I watch her eat because I'm not hungry and I'm going to have to cook dinner for my husband anyway.

My husband will probably go to our local restaurant eat. We've already talked about it.

This morning I have a 7 am appointment with the physical therapist. My shoulder has been getting worse. In the past Iíve stretched it out, but it freezes right up later. This woman is wonderful and does a great job. Itís just going to be very painful. Have to leave soon.

Have a wonderful day!

Morning all, the weather did cooperate sort of. It did rain later but it did not interfere the the osrty, it was so nice to see everyone . Old worry wart Mom, me, didnít need to bother worrying. The kids pulled it off very nicely. It was a lot of work for Doreen but she is a trooper just like I use to be. I helped right up to the end then my hip and knee were way to sore to stand any longer. I really felt bad.
Today our other son and his wife are here so we will have a little family reunion. It will be great to be together.

Econolady, I would say you have found a perfect chiropractor. It was great thst she stayed to help you. Not many like thst roday. I hope you are feeling better now.

Maree, I am sure the houseboat is sparkling for your weekend visitors. Have a good week.

Bess, looking forward to some more pictures of the studio. Also, thst dock just might be finished this year. Wonít thst be great.

Onward to the week everyone.....

Happy Monday! Rough weekend here and still not feeling 100%, but I made it. Today is the first day of craziness as the fall semester has begun.

Maree - I often say that I don't want to adult today. If it were so easy.... Maybe a GPA collar for Scout? We're lucky that our dog likes to stick close to home and doesn't wander. He's 8 though, so I'm sure that helps.

I've got to get to it - didn't get as early of a start as I wanted. Have a great day, all!

Adulting. Love it. I wanted to start adulting at about age 7, Maree. I bet that houseboat smells wonderful. Enjoy your week.
Phebess - hope you slept soundly - I had some weird dreams last night too - one involved eating at an eastern European restaurant where all the food was chocolate and the waiter explained the purpose of each course. In the other, DH was in a dance group that involved men holding sticks and keeping balls in the air with them.
Bea - hope your family situation smooths out
Econlady - how fortunate that your chiropractor would see you on short notice! Hope you feel better
Nell - hope you enjoyed the beautiful weekend - nothing but rain for the next few days
Donna - I am like you - I like party day to dawn with nothing to do but dress. But other people are successful in other ways, eh? how was the weather?
Toni - I could almost hear the laughter - and remembered the fun we used to have with our 12 yr olds on long summer evenings around the game table

Yoo Hoos to the rest of the gang!

Lowes called me yesterday while I was in the studio. The countertops were in!!! We drove out to have a look at some piers the doc builder had put up and on the way home stopped to pick them up, along with some few more things that go with the cabinets. 2 sets of pull out drawers and 2 boxes of square cubbies that will go on top of one counter to hold yarn ... just like in a yarn store! I hope today is assembly day, but I'll need help from DH and I don't know what his plans are. More Photos before the week is out, though.

Even though it should be cloudy and even a little rainy this week - it will be cool. I'm ready for cool.

Good morning!

Wow, I slept well. Wish I could've stayed in bed a while longer, but I'm glad the weird dream I was having has ended.

Sounds like a good weekend was had by all. It was nice of your chiropractor to take care of you, Econlady.

Bea, wish you well with your situation.

I worked several hours on the houseboat interior yesterday and the newly shampooed carpets dried in time for me to replace all the furniture. It poured after DH returned from the island with Scamp. That was fine, we were packing up to come home anyway--headed home around 3. Food prep for the week, laundry. I need to pay bills and send $ to DH's daughter to help her rent a car to come to the houseboat for the holiday. And pay some other bills. Always so many responsibilities. They call it "adulting" nowadays.

Lots of running in crossfit class this morning. Lunch is packed. Hope all have a great day!
