Hi folks,
It's great to hear all your doings.
I switched jobs, but not careers, and I'm really happy where I am now. I hope to stay there until I retire!
Gotta get to bed cause in 2 minutes I turn into a pumpkin!:). Sleep tight, everyone!

Thank you all - I rarely feel grumpy, but I felt like I was heading that way, so I figured I'd spare DH my grumpiness. It just didn't seem fair to be grumpy to him just because of whatever was going on that made me less than cheery. Oh well, it went away, whatever it was.

Econlady, so frustrating when the lab loses or mixes up samples - or maybe it's just that I don't like the needles. Hope you get results soon. And that your next cookie comes out the way you want!!

Kellie, I can't even imagine coffee down my back - good thing it didn't burn you!!! Maybe time to splurge on a new travel cup?

Donna, I hope your family visits are all enjoyable. That's so sad about your sister, and yes, 66 seems very young.

Nell, I know how hard it is taking care of a parent with dementia. But on the more positive side, maybe by the time you can move her to the facility with more care, she will be less likely to protest that change. We found that with my mom - by the time our dad moved her into a care facility, she didn't really recognize him half the time, and didn't feel like our house of 30 years was like home. (She told me it wasn't her home anymore.) It may make the change easier for all of you.

Toni, thinking of you and your daughter - hope all goes well!

Bess, it does help to either have a trainer or a workout buddy, doesn't it? So easy to not do what we need to do when no one (except ourselves) holds us accountable. This is why I keep trying to get DH to go to physical therapy - at least then someone is making him exercise! (I could use that today too!)

Maree, are you getting some of the rain we keep hearing about? Is the river finally back to normal? This seems to be such a wet year for the entire country!

I think everyone got some kind of storm last night - rain moved in, and reports are that there were pockets of hail throughout the western part of the state. We seem to have had some hail here, though it was worse a bit further south. I slept through whatever it was, but awoke to pouring rain, and it's been on and off all day thus far. I think I'll start some of the crocheted flowers for the afghan I have planned - it's the kind of day when you want to stay in and cozy. (Though we did go out for DH's chiropractor, and then breakfast because I slept a bit later than planned.)

Good afternoon

Malia is learning all about Bernie inconsistencies. Like she's allergic to cheese, but will eat Macaroni and cheese. She eats tomato sauce and ketchup, but is allergic to tomato chunks. She's deathly allergic to cucumbers but likes sweet pickles. She's diabetic and doesn't have sugar in her house, but has sugared products, like ice cream. This list goes on.... All you can do is take a deep breath bad THINK "whatever" Bernie is also in a tizzy about the owner of her apartment building is painting the outside and in hallways. "The fumes will kill me" So she's been on the phone complaining to her doctor and her lawyer. The place is designed with good ventilation. Malia was telling me all about it and all I could do was laugh because I've heard it all before along with other exaggeration. Such is life with Bernie!

I'm getting my hair done this afternoon.

There was a mix up on the blood test and I have to go do it again. Luckily it doesn’t involve fasting.

I don’t like the way my cookie turned out. I will do it again and then post a picture.

Have a good day everyone!

Happy Hump Day. No damage done to my back after dumping hot coffee on myself yesterday. It stung for about three hours and my shirt was damp all day but the day actually went well which surprised me with that start.

We got a lot of rain yesterday. It got pretty dark for quite a while and rain drops so big it looked like it was snowing at first. By the time I left work, it was only a slight drizzle.

I hope the new living arrangements come very soon for your mom Nell! emoticon

Sending good vibes to the universe for your daughter's procedure Toni!

Hi everyone and good morning. Can’t believe I am the only one up. My sister use to be up at 5 everyday. Times do change. I am missing my coffee. There is a pot ready but I need to drink decaf and I can’t find the kettle. Oh well. I am sure I will survive.

Bess and Toni. Go for it. I think a trainer is a great way to work into fall. What a boost to your exercise regime and your enthusiasm.

Nell. Big hugs as you deal with your Mom. This new place cannot come soon enough. She just might be happier there too with people who are looking after her understand how to deal with her.

Kelli, I too hope your day was better after the coffee spill. What a way to start your day.

Jamir wishing you good luck as you think about a new path. We all know you deserve better working conditions.

We will spend some time with my sisters this morning then head back to our sons with a stop on the way to see my brother. He wasn’t able to make it yesterday.

Hope everyone’s day goes well.

Good morning.

Mom was waiting at the door, but not for me. She thought she was waiting for my brother to take her to a movie, she no longer recognized my car (that I've had since 2005). We had a nearly 2 hour wait at the doc office. I passed the time chatting with a woman also waiting, but Mom has no conversation, she had to just sit there, poor thing. The appointment itself lasted 10 minutes. Mom couldn't remember her birthday, it was obvious that her dementia has progressed. I wish I knew when she could move, she is getting worse by the day.

Yes, we got that storm, 1.5 inches in less than an hour. Lots of wind, a bunch of trees down, thankfully not in my yard. The newly cleaned gutters worked great!

Toni, I was a hospital volunteer when I was in high school, I was on the OB/GYN ward. There were several D&Cs every day. It's not as common now, I don't think. but it used to be as common as tonsillectomies for kids.

Hard to believe we are only 1 month from the Equinox.

Good morning!

Storms seems to miss us last night so all is well and the temp is down a bit. It will get me outside to walk again, and I am looking forward to it.

Our daughter is having a D & C today to figure out some extra bleeding she is having. We hope it is just menopausal stuff, but because of her breast cancer, we are worried too. We’ll see. As for today, some waiting room time—which reminds me I can walk there. (See Bess your gym trip is already inspiring me. And the trainer idea rocks. Will call someone today about that as well).

Forgive my thinking aloud into the day. Hope all of us make the best of it! Toni

Maree - you got it - we'll go with the one who shows up with equipment. The man who hunts is moving swiftly because he'd like to have a deal signed in time for him to build a duck blind up our creek bank. we shall see
Phebess - I'm sorry you were under the weather yesterday. Hope today is better
Bea - That divine hand moves in our lives frequently - we just need to pay attention, eh? Not be so quick to complain.
Nell - did you get more storms last night. An doozy of one went through but mostly missed us. Lots of trees down across the river, though. We got 1/4 an inch of rain. Much appreciated
Kellie, Econlady - ouch! hope those burns were not too bad
Jamirblaze - wishing your dad speedy recovery
Donna - hugs to you - it's hard to watch loved ones decline
Toni - together we will conquer the sloppiness!

Shoutouts to everyone else. While Wed is hump day for most, it's the day the recycling center is open for me. Trash day!

I did make it to the gym yesterday - sweet to be there at 2 pm. when nobody else is there - the whole place was mine. Thinking about thinking about it brought up the thought that I might like to work with a trainer again. I'll check with them next time I'm there and see who their trainer is. I know once I get in the swing of things I'll enjoy it.

We had some rain last night and this morning the ground has that slightly spicy scent it gets in the fall. Almost cinnamon - though it's really just wet woods and grass. We're going to have some cooler weather this weekend. More harbingers of autumn.

Good morning!! Hump day!
Oh, Kellie! Ouch! Hot coffee down the back is a new one. I hope no scalding occurred. I certainly hope your day improved from that early morning experience.
Nell, did the appointment with your mother go okay?
Phebess, hope you feel better. It's good that you know just what you need and can take appropriate action--a book getaway!
Econlady, how soon will you receive the allergy results?
Toni, what a wonderful time you were able to provide for your lake guests! I love sharing my love of the river!
Bess, yes, did you choose the dock builder. Or is it "first come, first hired"!? After the long wait, I wouldn't blame you.
Donna, I love that you and your husband are traveling again. Sorry to hear about dementia in your "young" sister, though. Some doctors call it the Type 3 diabetes. I wish it could be reversed with diet as some are able to do with Type 2.
Bea, yes, I need to get to your blog, too.
Jamirblaze, sounds exciting! Keep us posted on your career change!
Poindextra, you made a change a few years ago, too, didn't you?
Sauteed some zucchini slices and baked cod fillets for my lunch. All packed now. Time to dress for crossfit class!
Hope all have a great day!!
