Donna, that sounds good! I know people who do well with the injection in the joint - and then some of us just wait too long so it isn't an option. So I hope you timed it right and that it helps you!

Poindextra, isn't a road trip fun? Sounds like your travels are wonderful!

Nell, I hope the trespassing crazy lady leaves without any more problems!

DH had his first chiropractor visit today - this guy specializes in sports injuries, which DH, former football and baseball jock, likes. The dr did an exam, said he thinks he can help, and did some various things with cold laser, pulsing machines, and then a manipulation. DH's back is so tense, nothing moved. But he'll keep working on it. We're also waiting for a referral for the PT. And I'm waiting for results from the x-ray.

But things are progressing, which is the first step!

Good afternoon all, I took agree with acupuncture but the secret is getting someone who knows what they are doing. The fellow I had trained in Taiwan just like a medical degree here and now teaches in Canada along with his practice. There are people who do acupuncture who have trained for a few weeks or months rather than years.

The visit today was very interesting. This doc thinks I may need a hip replacement and a partial or total knee replacement. We are going to start with a shot in my hip to see if that helps with the pain. There will be no removal of the kneecap according to him. So we will start with the shot which will be done by the radiologist at the hospital within a few weeks. Six weeks after that I will see the orthopedic surgeon again and we will then decide what will happen next. If I need both replacements I think the hip will be done first.

Just weighing in on acupuncture. Iíve had it for particular injuries and found that most of the needles donít hurt, but maybe one or two might. That trigger Ďouchí has triggered healing for me, Econ, too. Also, my massage therapist keeps my range of motion in my neck working. I believe in alternative therapies when they are appropriate because they often work for me. Not always though, of course.

Good morning. It's hot and sunny now, but more storms expected later today. That's the last thing we need around here. At least it's not what New Orleans is going to endure.

My son says that woman is packing. All she has to do is be gone by Monday and I won't drag her into court. I checked the civil court records, she has been evicted before from places where she had a lease. (As well as a dozen traffic convictions including DUI.) She knows she has no case: no lease or any other agreement, and no money has changed hands. She stole the key, my son just didn't challenge her on it. I would have called the police when she ripped my curtains down. That's vandalism (which will cost me $1000 to replace) and it's a crime. So is trespass. She is lucky I gave her two weeks to leave, I could have involved the law immediately. She thinks I'm a monster, in reality I've been too nice.

Happy Friday eve! Today, our old big boss is in town, so lunch out of the office. The place they chose doesn't have very many good options for me, but I'll figure something out. Barry will be hitting the poor LA coast, it looks like. But there's a wave off Africa that I'm keeping an eye on.

Maree, Nell - Landlord tenant is about 50% of what I do, representing tenants, and I've seen both sides - bad tenants and bad landlords. FL law is generally very landlord friendly. I have a client that has a landlord gaming the system against him right now - inflating the money owed by about half to a third. And then there were the clients that had racked up two pages of itemized damages - they didn't object to the underlying claims, but to what the landlord was charging (probably slightly inflated). Needless to say, I'm glad that I no longer rent, and I'll never be a landlord.

Phebess - I generally choose female doctors, if I can. My gastro isn't, but not a ton of choices. He does take time and listen though which is more than I can say for some.

I've been typing this between stuff coming up. Gotta scoot! Have a good one!

Good Morning!

I walked 3 miles this morning, a little further than usual, but I'm going to be sitting a lot today. Soon we will leave for Kalispell and leave Michaela there.

Needles scare me, This is the first time needles have hurt, but I have a lot of sore muscles, some of which have been sore for decades and I will walk out with no pain. The biggest surprise has been my neck. I have always had nonstop pain and 8m losing the pain and I have almost gotten full rotation back. I can take 10 minutes of pain for relief.

Did I mention I just bought 3 ridiculously large copper cookie cutters and spent way over a $100 each for them. I didnít think the tinsmith would make anymore cookie cutters and heís restarting and let me buy first. Iíve seen these cutters sell on eBay for $175 to $250 each! Thatís used and Iím buying them new!

Iíve been taking albuterol under doctors direction and Itís making me sleepy.

Today I need to make some cookies and find a police man or fireman to give them too. I think Iím just going to have to go to a fire station and offer them. Iím afraid they wonít take cookies from a stranger.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Bracing for rain here again while I do a few loads of wash to prep for the weekend. I have loose menu ideas in mind and will grocery shop tomorrow. Trying to have a calm day as yesterday afternoon was a confluence of a project that is coming to fruition, a decision point for the young newly engaged about the wedding, and a couple of others things. Why does all this happen between 4:30 and 6???? Oh and I cooked dinner.

Argh!

Nell, I too hope the legal process works quickly for both your sakes!
Econ, Phebess, Jamir, Donna, and anyone else who needs it, I wish you quick and accurate diagnoses.

Yesterday hubby realized we're only an hour from Portland, Maine, and that the road there goes directly past Long and Sebago Lakes. So today we'll go on another road trip. Yesterday we visited Jackson Falls and Ripley Falls. The Ripley hike was a short but steady climb with lots of rocks and tree roots to navigate (my kind of hiking!), and we even puzzled the way across the river to the other side. So much fun, and we also got to walk a few feet on the NH portion of the AT:). Another falls near Ripley is even taller, so we may hike that one tomorrow. Now I must roust hubby. We want to get an early start because it's supposed to rain this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Maree, imagine if that woman had used all her knowledge, craftiness and effort into doing something productive - what a great life she could have had.
Nell - you have my sympathy. I watched our social services dept. deal with a mentally ill woman who insisted on living in her car in the county parking lot. She'd been dumped there by another county's police dept. It took a year to go through due process and a local lawyer stepped up to serve as court appointed guardian. Predators like her are so deeply broken she'll pull all sorts of tricks out of her bag. You are strong and you are wise - I hope your ordeal doesn't last too long.
Phebess - oooo - glad your dr. is addressing those lungs
Toni - wasn't it nice that yesterday evening we got a last blast of clear air? We savored ours on the back porch.
Donna - yippeee! We'll be interested to hear what the dr. orders
Econ - I am leery of acupuncture too, only because it's so foreign. And I thought those needles weren't supposed to be felt at all, too
Jamir - I don't have difficulty swallowing but I do know I sometimes eat too fast. Been paying attention to how quickly my tongue pushes food out of my mouth and trying to slow that muscle down.
Yoo hoo to the rest of the team!

Like Toni - I have company coming on Saturday so I am going to do the housecleaning today. I've been savoring days and nights with the windows open in this lovely weather but today I have the a/c on to dry out the damp. I've been loving my aerobic step all week and the scale is whispering sweet nothings to me.

Poindextra - your vacation sounds like such fun!

Good morning!

We're all hoping for a productive appointment for you Donna, as you have waited so long for some relief!

Nell, I represented a landlord who rented to a woman who never had any intention to pay rent, caused damage and had to be evicted. She had no fear; she knew the legal system as well as I did and attempted to use it to her advantage at every turn. I just had to push like a bull dog and we finally got her out. They use our "due process" to steal, basically.

Cooler today--much lower humidity.

Time to dress for crossfit class and pack my lunch.

Hope all have a great day!
