I just curled up in my favorite red chair at the end of a long day and busy week, and treated myself to reading all your posts from today. Wish I could check in every day, but life is just very full right now. No offense to you all, but I often choose to play with the grands instead of my computer. They will be small such a short time! But they are gone for the weekend, so I have a quiet evening, and tomorrow: time to do the taxes. Great way to enjoy the sunshine, right? But even though I haven't been checking in, I'm still eating right and exercising, and losing weight slowly. Don't have much more to go, maybe 7 pounds, maybe 12. Whenever all the clothes fit again. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Econlady, 100 cookies sounds daunting! Only time I ever made that many cookies was when I was baking desserts for a progressive dinner - gave me a reason to bake, which I love, but then all the items went off to someone else's house and about 120 people got to eat them. (And my idea of cookies is making rugelach, which is rolled into a loaf and cut into 12 pieces - so pretty speedy!)

Maree, I love coordinating furnishings and paint and all the accessories to create a comfy home - so have fun with it!!!

And yes, the weather was nicer today, I even wore short sleeves!!!

DH's brother and sister-in-law arrive tomorrow. They'll only be here 4 days, but we'll have fun. I've shopped for snacks for them - they are grazers. I figure they can either take the food with them when they leave and munch on their flight home, or they can leave it with us and DH can eat all the cookies. (I'll get the almonds, and the very dark chocolate which I eat one or two squares as a treat.) I'm hoping they want to go do all the things I can't get DH to do - like spend a day at the Sonoran Desert Museum, which is both a botanical garden and a zoo, with huge enclosures and only rescue animals in there.

Hi folks,
I'm winding down for an early bedtime cause I'm tuckered. I was tired in the morning, felt better throughout the day, and then was really pooped by dinner. I'm going to sleep as long as the cats let me tomorrow:).

Hugs to you all!

TGIF!

I tackled a couple hurdles at work today that I've been procrastinating on, which brought up some more issues so I've talked myself into that being a good thing, keep moving forward instead of throwing my hands up in frustration and more procrastination like I usually do.

Yesterday I went for a 3.14 mile run. In the running community, on March 14, you post a 3.14 mile run (Pi day). It was beautiful out yesterday but about 29-30mph winds when I went out. oof! I powered though, walked a bit telling myself this is good for stamina, for days when it's not so windy.

Econlady, this Monday I have to go in for a, shoot, forgot what it's called, but a bladder scope. I spent the whole month of February feeling like I had a UTI when the test showed none. Other tests showed no other infection yet I still felt horrible! I saw a urologist who gave me some OTC meds to help with acid foods that bother the bladder and that helped. I've been feeling great since and even stopped the OTC meds and still feeling great. So you'd think I'd relax about it but I'm still very nervous that something is brewing. Two weeks ago, when they scheduled this test for Monday, I decided to keep reminding myself that I'm not going to know anything for at least three weeks, I have to stop spinning! It's not easy. I'm with you in spirit every day.

Looking forward to tomorrow's local St. Paddy's day 5K.

Six hours is quick for a 100 cookies. Typically it would be about three days, but I made the design simple.

Morning all, just a quick stop by as I have to get ready to head out to a coffee party shortly.

We are looking forward to a warm weekend like many of you. How wonderful to think about feeling the warm sunshine on our skin. Itís been a long winter.

Maree, I bet you are excited about your new furniture. Isnít it fun to be able to do it all at once.

Bess, your electronic system sounds more complicated than for us city dwellers. I hope it all works well for you. I would like to give up our land line but hubby had a hard time letting go of things. My cell phone is on all the time but he hardly ever has his on unless he is going out. You know what they say about an old dog!

Toni, Good for you for keeping up the steps. Itís important and we all know that. Itís also enjoyable.

Jamir, sounds your office has a problem today. It will be hard to get ahead on your work without email.

Nell, you can get your prescriptions repackaged for each day. Would that work for your Mom. It is very serious if she is not taking her meds properly. I know the worry about her never goes away for you

Econolady I canít imagine making cookies that would take me six hours. I am glad you are getting help with it.

Better get moving and get ready for my day.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

Thank you everyone! I can feel your prayers and good wishes and it helps! I did sleep 7 hours last night! Definitely helped. Right now Iím slammed trying to finish my cookies for CookieCon. They are more elaborate than the typical cookie. Iím also a lot more fussy about all the components. Tomorrow a friend of a friend is coming over and we are making a 100 chocolate sugar cookies for an Eagle Scout ceremony. Itís a quick and simple decorate. Well finish in about 6 hours or less.

Happy Friday! TGIF! Had to get up extra early this AM so that I could get to work early as I'm taking a couple of days off next week, and am trying to flex some hours so that I don't have to use as much vacation.

Maree - Ouch! But atta girl on 14! New furniture is very exciting! We're currently saving up for a new bed - upgrading to a king and a better mattress.

Econlady - There are some good guided meditations and other relaxation tools on YouTube if you need an assist. Hopefully, Cookie Con will help take your mind off things, and you'll get some rest.

Nell - Cats are wily and sense the vet vibes, I think. My sister used to have a cat that would lay in your lap for hours if you let her, but god forbid that you try to pick her up.

Just catching what occurred in New Zealand. Heartbreaking. We are more alike than we are different, and it feels like there are too many in the world that are exploiting differences for their own agendas. So sad.

I've got to see what I can do about putting the office in order. The boss broke our email somehow, and the only one authorized besides herself to fix it is on leave, and the boss isn't here yet and just had a death in the family, so I'm not sure what will happen today.

Hope everyone has a great day and a fantastic weekend!

Good morning!

I think we are all ready for spring. Do you agree?

We got a taste yesterday. DH and I walked in 75 degree weather. My long sleeve felt a little warm. After we trekked to the dock and had a pre-dinner glass of wine. This is the first on the dock since last season and I actually started thinking about kayaking and swimming. Perhaps packing up most of my ski clothes last week put the ďlidĒ on that subject, lol.

Maree, I had the same reaction as Donna to all those burpees! You are amazing. I do not like my chiropracter THAT much because I think Iíd be in her office all the time if I tackled all those burpees.

Phebess, delighted to hear you are able to step out more. And Sunny, nice you are heading home for some family time in CA. Listening to you made me remember how challenging it was to keep up with a rambunctious toddler. Jamir and Kellie, happy Friday. You both sound really busy this week at your jobs. Nell, cats are such rascals. I swear they know when the vet appointment is. Nell, might your mom just want an outing at the mall? I guess that would just put her back into buying cosmetics she doesnít need though. Bess, miss you. Hope your computer woes end soon!

Sue, glad to see you back!

Poindextra, thanks for reminding me to pay more attention to calcium among other things. Econ, have a great time at the Cookie Conference.

I got in 13 K yesterday and am happy there is more consistency in my activities. Gotta remember to stetch though. Feeling a little Ďcreaky.í

Happy Friday, all. Toni

Good morning, everyone!

Had to look back through the entire week just to catch up with all of you!
ECONLADY, waiting is usually the worst part. I spent the whole summer with worries about a breast issue and everything turned out fine, and as you know, same with my liver. It sure is scary though, and the waiting can make a person miserable.

Happy Friday!
I had a really busy week at work... not complaining. Well, not really, lol.
I'm home today and will get my groceries and do some outdoor chores. My weight was going up from some celebratory food choices but I've reigned myself back in again. Very happy about that. Have to really get SERIOUS about my maintenance again.

Hugs to all of you, I've missed you.

Friday! Yay! Rain. Meh.

The computer is home from the hospital. Yay Yay! With a wi-fi card. And the mobile hotspot seems to work very well. Now let's see how much data we hog with it. We switched to MetroPC - because cable is not available here in the country and our home phone is an old copper land line. We get 15 gigs of wi-fi data on each phone which is more than we're getting from the satellite service. With the phones themselves, we get unlimited data, so there's always access of some sort. If things continue well - and if DH can train himself to log off the network, I suspect we'll drop both land line and satellite. Save a bundle each month. Maybe take a trip with the $. Best of all - this puts internet access in the new studio without any extra expense.

So - that's the tech situation at the Haile House.

Good to be back with a keyboard, though. We've had beautiful sunshine all week but the builder's wife is very sick and he was here only a few hours on Thursday. But after today's storms, we are promised one whole week without rain. Last time that happened was July!!!

Tonight is an engagement party and tomorrow is a funeral. Big transition moments for people I love. A very heart moving weekend.

Do it
Become it

Good morning.

How great to be able to get to furnish an entire room at once. I've never been able to afford that, it's always been a piece at a time, an evolution rather than a redecoration.

I went out to Mom's yesterday about her "I'm out of everything" cosmetic emergency. I took a bunch of my backup inventory to hold her until I could buy her new, when she wants something it has to be immediate, she doesn't understand waiting even for a day. Turns out she has so much makeup and creams she is out of storage space. She has about 5 jars of face cream, but one jar was empty so she thought she was "out". Now she has even more. While I was there I checked her blood pressure med supply, she's about due for a refill, and she has a 6 month supply. I don't think she is taking it. We have a caregiver, but they aren't allowed to do anything with medication, you have to have a state license as a medication aide to do that. I could do it but she is too far away to get there often.

Econ, the 27th will be here before you know it.

I hope my son gets rid of that tom cat today. I know it's hard but he brought it on himself by feeling sorry for a stray cat.

Good morning! It's Friiiidaaay!

Oh, Toni, a weekend away at your lake home retreat sounds WONDERFUL! Aaahhhhh....

We have "abundant sunshine" predicted this weekend and I hope to soak some of it up. Not quite warm enough to sit outside on the deck in a bikini, but I shall find something to do, yard work, or something, to warm up in shirt sleeves or otherwise "thaw" out from this very long, hard winter.

I'm glad you're enjoying some nice weather finally, Phebess.

Econlady, I join with the others, in recommending that you try to manage the fear you're feeling. As this anxiety also affects your wellbeing--like losing sleep. Soothing wishes coming your way--like a momma comforts her 4 yr old. It'll be okay.

Good plan, Poindextra! Find the natural ways to get the vitamins you need. Tweaking what you eat. It takes some trial and error, as well as time to study and hone skills to get those macronutrients in proper proportions. Wish I was better at this. Do you use SP tracking?

I guessed it--it was death by burpees. Two the first minute, four the next minute, six the next and so on. I got to 14, so finished the round of 14 and would've had to do 16 without any rest from round 14. I settled at 14, which was the best for our class. Today has quarter mile runs interspersed with kettlebell work. Thanks for all the "atta girls!"

I bought new living room furniture last night--sofa, loveseat, recliner chair, rugs, mirror. DH will be painting as we await its delivery in 8 to 10 weeks.

Time to scoot. Lunch made. Hope all have a great day!!
