I can certainly relate, re: disgruntlement over how much time, energy & money is spent to our collective disease and poor health. My big gripe is, okay since we gotta have our profit motive, why not profit off of food and systems that contributes to our HEALTH instead of to our DISEASE?

I look forward to seeing what the author proposes for solutions. My own solution? I disconnect from food as meeting comfort and emotional needs and attempt to maintain a "food as fuel" mentality. If I want quality performance from my body, I gotta put quality food / beverages INTO my body.

Don, Thanks for sharing the link. I've read the book. emoticon

I find much of what's occurring rather troubling. My dear husband often hears me muttering things under my breath like "propaganda, mind control, brain washing".

Much of what occurs feels evil to me. I know evil is a very strong word and I have not chosen that word without thought. To me evil is choosing to do something despite knowing it is wrong and knowing it will deny another of their right to thrive.

It seems, to me, that much of the marketing that occurs has crossed that line. And, the designer foods? Food purposefully designed to addict us? Foods and products known to be detrimental to our health?

Their choices are conscious. It would behoove us to retake control of our own minds and choose consciously as well.

It fits right in with an old blog of mine: Fighting Corporate Control Over Our Bodies

The best part of the book is how he outlines steps to break free from this influence and claim a path toward health.
