Econlady, I'm sorry about your daughter. Let's hope her life is just busy and she'll call soon to say thank you and wish you a Happy Christmas.

Kellie, Happy Anniversary!!!!!

I found the Lush store (it took forever to find parking though), and they were so nice - took back the co-wash that isn't working for me, and helped me figure out what shampoos would work best with my hair. So I have a new shampoo (in a solid bar), a metal container to store it in, and new body lotion. We'll see how they work. (And then I immediately washed my hair to get the build up of the other stuff out!)

You can see how exciting life is right before Christmas for Jewish people, LOL! Though we do need to do some grocery shopping so we have some food for the holiday.

Enjoy all of your festivities!!!

Spent the day with the DDs family, chased the DGS around, made chocolate dessert for Christmas Eve, miniature golf and just general doing chores. The DH went off to the local urgent care. Looks like a sinus infection so he is obviously volunteering to be the sick Christmas person. Isnít there always one?

More of the same tomorrow, Monday and Christmas Day. Nice to be here and only 10 minutes away.

Wow - can't believe I'm only just joining in here. I woke at some zero dark thirty hour this morning - way before even an early bird like Maree would have started the thread. Went back to sleep and have been puttering ever since. Yesterday I got a manicure and then met up with a beloved friend who I hadn't seen in a year. We had a late breakfast and took a walk through town. I bought all the stocking stuffers for my family ... I'm always doing that at the last minute because every year I say I am done with stockings - and then succumb to the lure. Ditto an extra present for Da Pwincess. We bought her one thing plus one more thing and that was going to be it. I haven't been in a toy department since Dec. 8. but yesterday I slid down the girly toy aisle in Walmart and fell into the Melissa & Doug display. One more gift for DP - but we'll just see how the present opening goes. If she's had enough after two I'll save the last one for her birthday next month.

I don't have to go anywhere again till ... um ... well - we have to do a trash run on Monday but that's nowhere near a store. So - home as long as I want to be till the 28th.

Day #4 of no snacks. Feelin' good. Channeling my Inner Nell. emoticon

May all of you breeze through this busy weekend with joy and grace.

Itís really for the party. Instead of exchanging gifts we give to a charity. Instead of a cash donation for a charity I do a raffle for my cookie cutter collectors club. I pay for everything from the gifts to the mailing. Itís a way to energize the club.

Sorry to hear that about your daughter, ECONLADY, that must be disappointing.
How nice that you are still going to make the most of the holiday!!! Maybe I am amazingly old fashioned but I still feel that the woman sets the tone for the household, and it's such a nice gesture to be decorating and celebrating the season, even if it's "just" the two of you.

Good morning all, it looks like we are all busy with preparations for the holidays. I am impressed thst you can still fit in a spin class Maree. Inspiring for sure.
Hopefully w wonít hsve to go anywhere near a shopping centre. Yesterday was enough for me. Today I am baking. I am not doing much but it wouldnít be Christmas for my family if they didnít have a few butter tarts.

Good morning! Because my allergies we donít normally decorate for Christmas, but Sunday night we are doing a neighbor round robin and hubby wants Christmas decorations. Yesterday we bought an artificial tree. Today Iím buying ornaments and wrapping faux gifts. A tree must have gifts, but we donít exchange gifts. Also, daughter never replied about coming for Christmas, so just the two of us.she never even said thank you for her Christmas gift.

Hi all! I could use a little beach time!!! Today is DH's and my 12th anniversary. We got married on a beach in Key West so my mind is wandering there today!

Fabulous stay and vacation vibes to those enjoying time off and healing wishes to those that need them!

DH had to work today so I've been up since 4:30 am hearing him puttering around. I just got through a lot of housework and then heading out to Target for last minute stuff.

emoticon

We're going out for a nice anniversary dinner tonight. Then tomorrow the family is coming over to celebrate Christmas due to a couple people that have to work Christmas eve.

Looking forward to a quiet Christmas with DH!

Maree, let us know what you think of the Cyclefit class if you go.... I have an old Spin bike
from when I first started Spininng over 25 years ago when the sport (?) was brand new....
I am addicted. There's an app that I am using now called Aaptiv.. I got a certain amount of Weight Watchers points (I do the online program) and they give away gifts now, which I like very much, it's a nice touch that inspires even better tracking....and I chose three free months with Aaptiv so that I can listen to their audio classes. I did a Spin class yesterday and felt wonderful afterwards! They also have walking, running, cycling, yoga, meditation, stretching, weight training...the list goes on and on.

I am reading a book called Loving What Is by Bryon Katie. I am the self help Queen, lol, and this book is very interesting. Basically it's about the way our thoughts dictate how we exist in the world, and how changing our thought patterns can elevate our lives. Sometimes it verges on a little hokey, but I think the basic premise is a very good one.

This is her website.

Good morning. I'm with you, Toni, on loving internet buying. I keep a running list of deliveries I am expecting as I order them, crossing them off as they arrive, otherwise I'll forget. I usually have something I am expecting, but at Christmas the list gets long.

Today I bake. I am listening to a biography of Julius Caesar, a 22 hour book, perfect company for days of baking and cooking.

Three more day to get it all done!

Good morning!

The last of our packages keep rolling in. I usually love to shop shop, not buy on the internet, but this year the internet has been a godsend.

I Ďmadeí dinner for my DH last night. Not fancy. Soup and a salad and heated a little whole grain bread. He felt like he was getting a break!

As this busy weekend moves forward, wishing each of you some fun and relaxation midst all the hurry. toni

Good morning, friends!

I'm in the "yikes" mode...the presents under my tree...have I remembered everyone? I just don't feel my gift-buying was very organized or methodical this year and I think I'll be venturing out this weekend, actually hoping to do some shopping at those stores that have crazy hours, like my wake-up time, which today was around 2:45 A.M. Remember Christmas 2015 when I gave fake leis attached to "Hawaii Vacation" that we took February 2016? I'd really like to take them all to St. Thomas this Spring. Phebess, you could give me some pointers, right?

I am so in need of sunshine on a beach. I'm about to find a suntan bed place and just pretend... I get this way in the winter, I don't care about the tan so much as just the warmth and the rays...

Toni, what a great story at your restaurant! You were all such good sports to stay and enjoy each other. Nice 50% off reward, too.

Sue, glad to see you back posting today. I sent you a SP email, too. Hang in there!

Jamirblaze, how wonderful to have the rest of the year off work! I can just hear the sighs of relief from all those in the same boat -- there's a lot of folks doing that! I'm working Wed through Fri next week. Hoping and expecting it to be quiet.

Sunny, hope you are "freed" from the captive garage door! Those springs seem to fail without much warning--just glad no one was hurt. I hope you enjoy your "camping."

Bess, that tree sounds perfect for your family! I love the idea of lots of ornaments on one branch. I loaded our tree with lights this year and tried to position those plain gold and silver balls near the lights to reflect them even more--it worked and I just love our tree this year--wish I could preserve it forever!

Poindextra, hope you enjoy that cruise! And some "sunshine on your shoulders" emoticon emoticon "makes me happy...."

Nell, we have a wonderful "Lighting" center that I try to frequent for bulbs -- they are so knowledgeable, I don't care if they cost more than the box store. Hopefully, the contractors in town will keep them in business. It's sad to see places close that we've used for years. All the years since I was sworn in as an attorney (May 1984) I ordered the same calendar and this year when I didn't receive a reminder to purchase my calendar, I called the 800 number and the recording said, after more than 60 years, we have closed the business. Dang, had to find something similar.

Econlady, good morning! Cheers! emoticon

Kellie, Donna, did you finish your lists yesterday?

If I don't hear from SIL about walking today, I'll run over to the gym and take a cyclefit class--something different. Plus grocery store, and I guess I better do some more shopping, or otherwise come up with some ideas!! Wish me luck!

Hope all have a great day!!!
