Hope everyone is feeling better - the cold and flu season seems to be starting earlier and earlier! (Has everyone gotten their flu shots?)

Went to a movie, "Love, Gilda" - documentary of Gilda Radner. Such a funny woman, such a short life. There were clips from early episodes of Saturday Night Live, and I remembered so many of them - made me feel quite old!

Then I "fixed" our TV - we couldn't make it turn on with the remote. Turned out I bumped the button in the side of the TV, so it was turned off. I'm just so good at these electronic things, LOL!

Okay, watching the "Grey's Anatomy" opening episode, so I'm gone!

Hi team,

Our document went out the door this afternoon. Hallelujah! I'm over hours for the pay period already, but will have to work at least some tomorrow on project cleanup and my other project. The joys of being a salaried employee:). I can at least work from home so the plumber can install a mew garbage disposal, and take nice long walk breaks!

I'm at the gym because it's raining pretty hard outside. It's supposed to clear up tomorrow, though.

Donna, we ditched our land line long ago; we don't miss it. We both have smart phones now, but Dad does fine with his old flip phone. He doesn't email, though.

That's all for me, folks. Have a great evening!

Morning all. I just may go to Apple first to see about a new phone. I certainly donít need the latest and I am definitely not willing to pay those big bucks for their latest phone, have any of you given up your land line. I am thinking we should do that. Between FaceTime and Skype and our cell phones we really donít use our home phone very much. Telemarketers are just about the only other calls....
Off to golf today and itís going to be lovely...around low 70ís with is perfect. There wonít be many of these days left.
Toni our Thanksgiving is pretty much the same as your holiday but because it is early October it does not turn into early Christmas shopping along with Black Friday it is more of a fall bounty celebration. Also I enjoy it being early rather than two big holidays so close together.

Jamir and all, what happened at Apple is that they could just take the sim card from the old phone and put it into the new to set me up again with AT&T. Apparently there are some carriers who won't let Apple do that, but with ATT and Verizon, apparently you can. A real time saver.

While at AT&T they needed info I didn't have...my husband's social. Even though I was authorized on the account, yada, yada, yada... So it sent me scampering. Then they didn't have the phone I wanted! Which took me to Apple where things moved like clockwork. Lots of young energy there. A young man from Morocco--Ustaf--completely helpful, a guy named Guy (adorable) also helpful.

Ah, adventure.

Happy Friday Eve! I was in a bad mood after I left work that was magnified by a minor home issue when I got home. And I'm not in the greatest mood this morning either - this is our busy season, and something happened that I can't really talk about (not by me) that has caused a great deal of stress.

Bess - Yes, I love the downhill. Hope you don't get the crud! Or a mild case, at least.

Donna - Hope normal life resumes soon!

Toni - The last iPhone which I've had for 2 years was purchased directly from Apple. Was so much easier than at Verizon.

Nell - Don't you just love how fixing one issue reveals more? Hope the condo fix is not as bad as it seems.

I've got to get to it! Have a great Thursday!

Good morning.

I never got to get a new phone yesterday. We had a major electric problem at the condo. The electricians were there to repair an old splice we found underground when the plumbers were replacing an underground line, and they took down 8 buildings including mine. While they were fixing that they found that the whole underground run is failing, it wasn't installed properly back in the 60s. I told them to get the buildings back online, and tell us what needs to be done to the underground grid. This is going to be terribly expensive. It was a long day, and a new phone wasn't a possibility. I need to do it soon before it does what yours did, Toni. That would send me into a panic. The phone is so old that all the settings are on the phone, not in the cloud, and it has to be working in order to transfer everything.

Lots of minor things to do today. I just hope the rain holds off for the day today.

Good morning!

Bess, tis the season for colds and Ďstuff.í. Hope this thing doesnít hit you too hard.
Love how you experimented, Maree, and survived the fast.
Boy, Econ, sleep is so important. Glad you are sorting it out.
Donna, your Thanksgiving is really coming on fast. October 8, right? It can be such a fun, satisfying holiday. Do you know how Canadians and US citizens differ in how they celebrate? Iím curious.

Long, hard walk yesterday. My phone died, mid walk, taking away my musical inspiration. Well, that was it. I knew I needed a new phone. Why is it that a phone purchase involves so much rigamarole? It took me two visits to the AT & T store and one to Apple. Apple was pretty efficient, I will say. Our time saving electronics take so much time to set up! Thinking of you, Nell, and your recent computer change.

Laundry tumbling, coffee on, gotta get to work on a project as well. Have a good Thursday, all.

Toni

Good morning team!
Maree - I'm not tempted to fast 24 hours but I have done the skip a meal recommended in the Beck Book to prove to myself that hunger is not an emergency. In all my years of dieting and weight watching or lifestyle changing - I've seldom been hungry - but that's actually a good feeling to have now and then. Skipping a meal helps remind me that if I over eat or binge ... it was a choice, not because I needed it.
Econlady - you are a dear friend to make such special cookies as gifts
Phebess - sounds like a busy day
Donna - Different kind of busy for you, eh? Hope that document goes out snag free.
Sunny! You got it! It's problem solving all day long - mostly geometry problem solving - which was my favorite math after word problems. Have a fun weekend with the GS
Donna - Thanksgiving! Love that holiday. And yes - it does require an early start of the planning. Hope your DH sees daily improvement
Kellie - Ditto what Phebess said - happy travels
Jamirblaze - Don't you just love it when Thursday comes around and you're on that down hill slope of the work week?
Nell - sigh. Doctors just shouldn't get old. Sigh
Toni - glad to be of service. looks like we have a day and a half more of rain and then .... fingers crossed - a beautiful weekend

Babysat Da Pwincess, who gets more fun each time I go there. I've been feeling a little off all week and her mom had a full fledged red-nosed cold. Now I am feeling a lot off - but not quite yet sick. Think today will be a hot bath cold drinking water kind of day. With naps.

Believe it
Do it
Become it

Good morning!

I'm awake too early, drinking "sleepy time" hot tea, catching up on yesterday's posts. I ended up dropping DH off at the clinic, and after his vitals and post-care instructions, I scooted over to crossfit class for the deadlift workout. I got to 143 lbs, 3 reps. Then back to the clinic in time to meet him in recovery as he awoke, and to speak to the doctor. We'll receive the full report in about a week.

DH had a big breakfast, I continued the fast until I went to a luncheon at 1:00. So a full 24 hr fast for me. Then I had a "life balance" menu entree of salmon, garnished with spinach, tomatoes, a few potato slices.

I think the fasting was a good exercise to prove to myself I can eat less and feel great. We'll see.

Kellie, hope you have a great trip to Florida!

Donna, good for you--returning to a more normal life. Hope your Thanksgiving plans are going well! It's nice to hear all these good health reports for our loved ones; Nell, Phebess, too!

I'm going to try to get back to sleep. Big and long day ahead.

Hope all have a great day!
