I had a very busy day today at Church. I, however, have no guilt feelings. I walked through the grocery store today after church, then walked my dogs around the perimeter of our property. I fed all my babies and got ready for evening church. Today was Birthday/Anniversary celebration and they brought in not only ice cream and cake, but chicken tenders AND pizza. Oh the joy of following Ketogenics. I got to watch everyone eat! But again, no guilt feelings!! SparkCheers,

Had a great time yesterday - the concert was Midge Ure, who used to sing with Ultravox back in the 80s. British/Scottish group. This was at a club sort of setting - my brother had booked a booth for us, we were right dead center and I somehow was under a spotlight. So I swear Midge and I were making eye contact half the concert, LOL!

My brother actually knows him - brother has been doing sound systems since about age 12, he's just a techie geek sort of guy. Specializes in live sound, works for some big fancy sound system company on product development, testing, and sound system installation and sales. Anyway, so it's always interesting to go to a concert with him, because he'll notice things that most of us don't - I told him the instruments were miked too high and drowning out the vocals, he agreed and pointed out that one backup vocalist's mic was turned off!!! Brother also tracked some of the sound on his phone, doing some graph of the mix or something.

So, it was a good show for the first half, only because Midge finally stopped asking the sound guy and just sang over the instruments. Man has a set of lungs on him!!!

Second half was Paul Young, who, well, might have been a little drunk, or just took a while to get into being on stage. Just didn't have much stage presence. And he's a bit more pop than old school rock, so not so much to my personal taste. He livened up after a bit. But for us, Midge really was the highlight of the concert.

Got home about midnight, managed to walk over a mile in downtown Seattle (the longest walk since getting the pneumonia), and fell sound asleep by 1 AM. Was still sleeping when housekeeping came by at 9:15 AM!!!

Yeah, we're just a little spoiled.

Hi team,

Well, I poured 6 bags (3 cubic feet) of pea gravel down the holes, and it didn't seem to make a dent. My neighbors called back, and said that there doesn't seem to be any critter sign, so I should call a foundation specialist. Sigh! Fortunately, they had someone to recommend. I'll look for others too, to get multiple opinions. The joys of homeownership indeed!

Nell, I remember my first days away at college. I kept pinching myself becsuse I couldn't believe I was really in my own in the city! Time sure does fly faster the older we get.

We slept in today, so will have a late lunch. Have a great day, everyone!

Well my transfers went well and the cookies look adorable. I have to make one more cookie to finish the set. Today is mostly grocery shopping and laundry. I need to get my other project finished so i can focus on packing and all the little things. I know 16 days can pass in the blink of an eye.

Happy Sunday all, yes the signs of fall are here but I sure hope we have some nice days ahead. I donít think I am ready for too much rain just yet.
Maree and .Bess, I sure understand. These big moments in our kids lives effect us too.
Yesterday I got hubby out for a few hours. I took him for a haircut, we went to Costco then out for sushi on our way home. It is almost getting too much getting him in and out of the vehicle. He was very happy to get home. I wonder if it will be better after he has the surgery on his arm. I sincerely hope so.
Enjoy your day everyone......I sure love hearing all the positive events happening with you all!

Good morning, team,

Yes, Bess, perfectly glad to have slept in my own bed last night, and sleep we did. We were more tired than we thought and slept long last night, even after spelling each other driving between naps between Vermont and Virginia. All worth it because our time in VT was so terrific with good friends on three magnificent days.

Can everyone feel it...the little twinges of fall in the air? The shorter days? Makes me savor these last days of summer and anticipate fall as well.

For me it is Sunday catch up day. I wonít be able to do it all in one fell swoop, but I will be making some lists and checking things off. Hope everyone has a good Sunday however you decide to spend it!

Sigh. Nell - I remember my first day of college too - but I sat on the bottom stair step and wept the day my son drove off with his roommate/cousin/buddy. After about an hour my mother called and the first words she said were "All right. You've cried enough." Only another mother would understand.
Maree - don't you just love to watch children and dogs?
Sunny - I had to laugh. Strawberry season here is in May. period. Imagine autumn strawberries!
Poindextra - too right - the joys of homeownership
Econlady - hope those decorations transferred without breaking
Donna - ain't that just like life? Get your routine just the way you like it and something changes. Sending you hugs
Kellie - how did the race go? Did you get your nap?
Toni - I bet you're saying "East or west, home is best"
Jamirblaze - and how was your weekend?

I'm loving this drier weather we've had all week. The low humidity has brought the first week of Good Hair for me. my fine limp strands just cling to my head when summer humidity blankets the earth. Yesterday was all about the vacuum - and lawn mower. Company coming for the day and bringing their dog to play with ours. Maybe a big salad for lunch - maybe a restaurant meal. But anyway we look at it, the day will be blessed.

Believe it
Do it
Become it

Hi all! A great race day. I tweaked my knee a smidge at mile 4, not sure how so I eased the rest of the way and placed 2nd in my age group again. I guess it was a good thing for my fastish beginning of the race and the fact this is a small race.

I'm a very average mom and was a very mediocre kid so these little moments are pretty thrilling.

DH and I have errands to run today there will be walking and yoga today. It's gonna be a hot one!

Wow Nell, the granddaughter going to Columbia. How exciting. Where do the years go indeed. Maree, I hope the tension isn't anything serious. Moms get those feelings!

Happy Sunday!

Good morning.

Yesterday DS#2 and his family went up to NYC to drop my oldest DGD off at Columbia. They'll be coming home today leaving her to her great adventure. I remember my first day at college, I remember leaving my boys behind at college, now it's my DGD's turn. Where do the years go?

The tree guys came yesterday and removed that big dead tree. I'm glad it's gone. Having had one tree expensive tree disaster this year, I don't want another.

Off to church in a few minutes.

Good morning!

Same view today. Sweet, but DD and family went home last night. SIL hurt his back last week at construction site (he travels), so he wanted to sleep on his own bed to see if that would help. There's some stress going on in that family, which of course saddens me. Sure loved my DD and DGD time. emoticon

And oh how Scamp was in doggie heaven!

Bess, great "match" story! Is it likely their paths would have crossed without the internet? Don't we all reflect on the twists and turns our lives have taken and how small random acts have had a major impact?

Kellie, how was the run? Blue ribbon? Oh, I was wondering about your DD--was she able to find those lost items? Hope all is well.

Poindextra, my journeyman carpenter DD used to say: 100 different carpenters, 100 different ways of doing it. Hope you solve your critter problem soon.

I feel like I need a long walk today, just low intensity cardio. I bet I'll be outta shape for the long walks I'm planning Wed and Thur with my former walking buddy who will be visiting from TX. She's about to become a grandma for the first time next month!

Well, I better get this posted. Wishing you all a beautiful day filled with joy and laughter!
