Unpredictable weather affecting so many of,you today. I am so glad you are all safe while so many have had to deal with such devastation. We have to be thankful we are o.k.

Hi all, busy day today so late checkin for me.
Bess, I'm glad your immediate area wasn't devastated by the storms.
Nell, so sorry to hear about your Mom's finances.
And the shooting situation in Kansas - so sad.

On my home front, Doc said I'm healing well, and can start experimenting with my core exercises. She said to ease into it, and not to do anything that hurts. So I just tried a couple of cat/cow tilts, and I'm not ready for that yet. I'll try some light core muscle activation while lying down instead. I'd like to get on top of things before my back really starts hurting again. Also, I didn't need any pain meds at all today - hooray!

Maintenance is as much work as losing, but it has the advantage of allowing us to do it in cuter clothes - BESSHAILE

Workplace shooting here in KS. 4 - 7 people dead, including shooter. In Hesston, KS, small town 7 miles away. Also a shooting in highway here in my hometown. Possibly related. Glued to the TV for over an hour.

I'm now dealing with another financial disaster my mother has perpetrated. She keeps giving her credit card info to spammers, now she is giving out her checking account number. I can take her checkbook, but she'll just go to the bank and get another one. If she asks, they have to give it to her. The credit card is less problematic for me, it's a problem for the card company, but someone can strip her bank account in a heartbeat. There is no legal way to help her.

I have always found Hawaii to be very calming. It is so easy to slip into a slow life style enjoying the lovely trade winds

Cleaning house and exercise classes today will give me a lot of exercise minutes. The weather is Spring and getting outside is on the schedule also.

I'm also thinking of those affected by tornadoes. I live in KS, and we were fortunate last year. Spent very little time in the basement for tornado warnings. This year, "tornado season" has not yet begun. But, we know that tornadoes don't always follow the calendar, and could come during unexpected months.

Here are my Thursday weights. My goal continues to be to get back down around 121 - 122, in the area where I'd been able to maintain for a year or two, following my weight loss of 60 lbs during 2010-2011.
Monthly weights:
12/31: 134.6 lbs
01/28: 132.6 lbs
02/25: 131.6 lbs

February weights:
02/04: 132.2 lbs
02/11: 131.8 lbs
02/18: 133.4 lbs
02/25: 131.6 lbs

Lost 3.0 lbs since 12/31.

Thoughts going out to those affected by the tornados. Bess I'm so glad all is well by you!

Quiet night last night. Took it easy except for a dog walk and yoga. I did some coloring. I love to color since I read it's good for adults!

Looking forward to an 8K with my daughter St. Patrick's day weekend. My first race longer than a 5K since I tried a 10K two years ago.

24 more days till spring! emoticon

I'm tired this morning. My son in Arlington, whose 41st birthday was yesterday, had his basement flood. Last night around 9 I drove the 40 minutes to his house with a dehumidifier and two fans. It wasn't too bad, but the laminate flooring will all have to be removed and replaced. Got home near midnight. We found where the water came in, and I told him how to fix it. Alexandria is OK, but Great Falls is without power because of trees down. No tornadoes nearby, but lots of hard rain. 100 miles south of us had tornadoes and lots of damage, 3 people dead.

I'm grateful that I am healthy enough to still be helpful to my boys.

Happy Friday Eve! Trying to keep keeping on with scale frustration.

Bess-I'll be thinking of your town and those effected!
Donna - Smooth travels! Tampa is a great airport, IMO, so hopefully it will all go smoothly.

The storms were intense but less bad than predicted here and brief. Brought some under 70F temps for the next few days - we have to enjoy while we can as 90s will be here soon enough. Arms last night. Light cardio and grocery shopping tonight.

Hope that everyone has a good one!

I'm saying prayers of thanks today that there were no fatalities in my county, where a tornado touched down 3 times. 30 homes were damaged, half of them destroyed. 25 people were sent to our tiny little hospital, filling it to capacity. The first responders in our community and in neighboring ones rallied round and everyone had some kind of bed to sleep in last night.

My eyes are wet with tears of gratitude that we won't be attending any funerals. The little town of Waverly, VA was not so lucky.

Hold your loved ones close. Give thanks for your blessings.

Good morning!

We went to an school orchestra performance that my oldest grand daughter plays in (cello). We were so impressed by how good the kids were. Outside tornado sirens were going off and also flash flood warnings. Nothing that we know of yet occurred in Alexandria, VA, but we'll see when I get a chance to see the news. This is wild weather for us. We often get storms in May, but not in February and only very occasionally tornado concerns.

Heading to the gym this am to work out with a buddy. Salty day yesterday and my weight is up. Keeping the faith and ignoring the number today. This too will pass.

Good morning!

Ah, another long sleep, about 9 hrs. Hopefully I am catching up from the red eye flight home from Hawaii. Yesterday I had a white knuckle drive through snow coupled with high winds. Thankfully my destination was the opposite direction from the area with blizzard warnings and the roads were practically dry on my way home. Funny how I quickly I lost my routine of getting ready for work. Memories of waking early and walking the beach in the warm breezes ...

Hope all are safe from tornados.

Enjoyed a low calorie simple nutrition plan and 60 min on incline treadmill paging through several days of newspapers. Glad to be in town today and able to attend Crossfit class and my cardio routine for 90 min.

Bon voyage Donna! Safe travels!

Hope all have a great day!
