I'm not on vacation, like some of you. But, here in Kansas, we had awesome weather the past couple of days. Around 70F.

Went to a Barry Manilow concert this evening. I had my handicap placard, which I rarely need in my home community. Used it there, but, the closest unused handicapped parking was still two blocks away.

I also took my cane, which I only use, occasionally, during MS (multiple sclerosis) flares. But, stadium steps scare me so i thought I might need it there. i didn't, though. Our seating was near an exit and I only had to go down two steps and there was a handrail. I was able to hang on to my husband on the escalator, which always is a balance challenge for me.

Hi all!

It's gonna be 60 today here in the Chicago area! WHOOHOO! Wish I had the day off.

I'm going out tonight with my running group. We're going to run three miles ending up at a local bar and grill where one of our member's husband is going to be performing. Can't wait!

Happy Friday to all!

Looks like I am without my Fitbit for a week or so. I put it in to charge, and put the band on the bed beside the charger so I wouldn't forget and leave the house without it. I turned around and it was gone. I vaguely remember the kitten behind me, and it seems that she carried it off and hid it. I looked all over, but the cats are like squirrels and just hide stuff everywhere. I have another band, but not another clasp. I ordered another band and clasp (they aren't necessarily sold together) so it will be a week or so without a Fitbit. I can't believe I have become so attached to the counting.

Happy, happy Friday! Been a stressful week at work, so I'm looking forward to the weekend.

Maree - I hope the vacation is fabulous!

Kellie - Hope work has gotten better this week. I do like to cook, but I do very little cooking during the work week as it's too much for me. I batch cook 2-3 things to rotate during the week, adding in different sides and usually something else different during the week. It's not for everyone, but it does make my life less stressful. You could grill or poach a couple of pounds of chicken breasts/pork/seafood on the weekend which can then be chopped into salads, seasoned as a main dish, shredded with a sauce, added to a veggie stir fry, etc. SkinnyTaste and Eatingwell are the two recipe sources that I use most often.

Yesterday was a rest day as is today, but I am hoping to be more active today - got chained to my desk yesterday.

Hope that everyone has a good one!

Happy Friday everyone!

It's funny how glad I am that it's Friday, even though I've been home from work all week:). I continue to recover nicely - I even forgot my pain pill yesterday morning, and didn't feel the need to take it until I ate my afternoon snack. However, I still need a solid couple of hours napping each afternoon - and I'm talking the dead asleep kind of napping, not just resting on the couch reading. This has been a very good exercise in listening to my body.

On the activity front, I did 3 5-minute stretches of walking around the house yesterday, so fitbit actually recorded 13 active minutes:). Today I'll try to increase my time a bit. I need milk, so may actually venture out to the grocery store - it will be my first time driving since the surgery (I have a manual transmission, so I haven't wanted to rush that). I also get my hair colored tonight, which will feel great.

Smiling, I'm so glad the home dialysis is working again. Nell, I'm sorry you had a crummy PT experience.

Have a great day everyone!

Maree, I hope you are enjoying Hawaii for all of us! It was sunny here yesterday, but I was still bundled up in my winter duds against the cold and wind. It will be in the low 40s today with less wind, a good day to run my end of week errands.

I did terminate my PT yesterday. I didn't need any special equipment, and the therapists were wandering around while I did each segment so I couldn't even talk to them and ask questions. This was the first time I have ever needed PT, and I thought it would be like the PT I see on TV when athletes are recovering from an injury. Boy was I wrong! I do all those stretches at home all the time, after all it hurts so good to do them.

Tomorrow: 60 degrees!!!

We got sunshine yesterday too, Maree - just with some cold wind to keep it company. BTW you are not allowed to werk at all this week. Sparkpeople will take away 1,000,000 spark points if you do! Kellie - I feel for you, loosing your chef. It's hard for me to plan meals and I am a pretty good cook. Poindextra - glad you're feeling stronger.

We had a favorite, but salty, dinner last night - ham and apples with spinach. The scale told me all about it this morning. This is why I never fix that dinner close to my weigh-in day.

So glad the weekend is almost here!
