Hugs to you, Nell - and yes, it's difficult to do.

Kellie, that sounds like an exciting race!

Happy birthday Donna!

And my calories are in range, I did some walking, and we're heading out on Wed. so today was laundry, tomorrow is repacking.

Happy birthday, Donna! And Kellie, go for it! I'll support you.. from here. I've been thinking about gearing up to do a 10K, but since I've only done one 5K so far, that may be a bit premature. But I can think about it!

I've been busy with work and running around doing errands. I did go clothes shopping this weekend. The weather has finally turned, and I had only 2 fall/winter tops in my closet that fit. I was able to find some good deals, so the closet is now ready for the cooler season. I've been ready for a while! This girl loves fall.

Happy Birthday Donna. Happy wishes for a great year.

Back from Phoenix and I am focusing on getting back down before the holidays really hit. Made a commitment to no wine and no eating out. Did both but I did eat a bit of homemade pumpkin mousse.

Checking in late. Busy day and time got away from me but you guys are always on my mind. I second Toni's thought about you guys being my power source.

Last year I thought about it for half a second, yesterday, I thought about it for a few minutes and today I have decided..... this 5K woman is going for a half marathon next year. Whoooo! That is tough to even type.

I've never had any remote desire to run more than a 10K and only did one of those. I like my 5Ks, 30-something minutes and done! But I have heard about this Detroit - Canada half marathon and I've decided to do it.... only because the concept of crossing countries during a race is very cool!

I have a year to get ready. I can do it!

Hi All,
I walked all weekend because of no car. My son took the car to a Con in NH. I walked to do everything. I walked to shop and bank. I walked to church. I walked my dog.

It is cold here too. The leaves are falling fast with this wind. The wind chill is in the teens this morning. I wanted to stay in bed but my dog needs his walk. I am trying to do the fall cleaning and keep warm. I will make some tea to sip and warm up.

Good Morning!!!!

I am so cold!! It is in the 30's once again. The heat is on. First winter here I set it at 75 degrees, but now have it at 69 degrees. I miss living in Sunny FL. We might get this cold in February for a short time. Still adjusting.

Phebess I can't even imagine no heat. Stay snuggly warm..

Toni, such a great blog. I am still playing catch up reading everyone's blogs...

Warming up with my Cinnamon Spice Coffee and getting a late start. I am so ready for the time change and I think my 3 birds are too.. We have them with us right in the family room..
Getting ready to start Day 51/ 60 Max Abs. Not sure if I will have time now to do the 2nd show on my 30th Anniversary DVD. I will be taking my mother to PT later this afternoon.

Wishing all a Wonderful Day and Week ahead!!

Good morning all -

Toni, I loved your spotlight blog - I do need to work in more "peaceful" time, but it's so difficult to do that. And, it seems contradictory that we have to "work" to add peacefullness to our days:).

Nell, my heart goes out to you regarding Isabelle. That's a hard choice to make, but it certainly sounds like the right thing to do.

I did make it to the gym this morning; it's been so long since I've been, I got to try out some new equipment. There are some fancy new treadmills that have a "rolling hills" program. Unfortunately, it was only 20 minutes, so I need to figure out how to make it 30 next time, and increase the difficulty a bit - like BrooklynBorn, I'm definitely a gradualist when trying new things. Then, I did 5 minutes on each of 2 different stairmills; I went very slowly since I've never used that type of machine before. I could tell that it did increase my heart rate though, and I'll be able to increase the intensity and duration next time I try it - I'll increase incrementally to make sure the repetitive motion won't mess with my back. I also did a few stretches for the first time in ages - I really need to add that back into my routine too.

Unfortunately, this whole routine didn't net me as many steps as my previous walk around the block, so I'll have to work on that part.

Tomorrow and Wednesday I'll be working downtown, so I'll get plenty of steps in walking to the bus and climbing the metro escalators.

Have a great day all!

I woke up this morning to 26 degrees outside. Brrrr!!

Welcome home Maree, back to the peace of normal.

Congrats Toni, on the Shine the Spotlight blog!

Busy week ahead. The vet appointment for my oldest cat is Wednesday afternoon, and I find myself second guessing my decision. Isabelle is eating, and last night she jumped onto my lap and purred. But her breathing is so labored and it breaks my heart. It has to be done, and I'm glad my husband is supporting the decision. Left to my own devices I'd selfishly keep her around and let her decline in misery, all the while convincing myself that she'd still fine for now. She's not, it's time, and I hate it, hate the pain of loss.

Happy Monday!

Last week was a very bad week - food, feeling, exercise. I had a headache a lot of the week that turned into a migraine (which I still have the dregs of) this weekend plus a minor car accident (very - all okay there but a scratch or two on my old girl). I ate okay, but meh, didn't track so I know it was more than I wanted to. And yes, I've been having some nagging minor health issues, and I do have an doctor's appointment scheduled for a couple of weeks.

Anyhow, this is a new week - onward and upward! I have only a couple more weeks to prep for my HM (which I have not been as good about this time - it's going to hurt). Going to get out for a run and go from there. Do the best that I can to prep in these last couple of weeks and have fun.

Hope that everyone has a good week!

Yay Toni - congratulations on the praise - quite deserved. I enjoyed re-reading your post about peaceful practices. Just typing that made my face relax into a smile. Welcome home Maree. A lot of us got that first blast of cold this weekend. Himself and I walked out to the Mile Point and felt the frosty chill in that north wind. It was a gorgeous day, though, full of puffy white clouds and blue blue blue sky.

I feel the thrum of autumn beating inside me. Now and then I get a whiff of wood smoke in the air. A peek at the calendar tells me that Something is happening every week from now through January 1. I'm going to be having a lot of company soon and the guest bedroom looks like a tornado hit it. Yikes! I better channel my neat'n'tidy scheduling Left Brain to help me get through all this or my wildchild Right Brain will throw a spanner in the works.

Monday! How did you come so fast. Cheers to one and all.

good morning! DH is feeling better, and yesterday we went for a slow stroll around a nearby pond. we had lunch at a restaurant, good choices. managed to hit the step goal with an extra walk with pelle, and did half an hour of yoga - "yoga for my mom" it was called - nice beginner level, but i really feel it today! will have a break today and tomorrow, we are off to seattle. will see the widow of our friend who passed away last week, as well as the newlyweds when we get to seattle. probably not much exercise the next two days.

have a great monday!

Good morning!

Home sweet home! And back to a more normal routine. We returned to a very cold home and turned on the heat in kitchen and our bedroom. I slept like a rock for a full 8 hrs, the first time in a long while. No travelling for me today, thank goodness.

I hope to catch up on all those blogs mentioned in recent posts.

Cardio and crossfit for 90 minutes this morning, leftover pecan encrusted halibut for lunch. Simple clean eating on agenda for me this week!

Hope all have a great day!
