I hate getting in the middle of a marital spat. You can't win no matter what you do. If you say something they get mad, if you say nothing they get mad.

Brooklyn, hope you have water!

Spent the day with BIL and SIL, touring southern NJ down to Cape May. Beautiful, but they were having marital issues so a bit tense as well. DH and I tried to calm everything down, separately - I was yelled at, don't know what happened with DH. Ah well, such is life.

Calories in range, lots of fruits - love this time of year!

I am late today but just wanted to stop by and say Hi!!

I slept late.. I guess I needed it. My mother and I are still recovering from sinus cold.
I completed 40 minutes Yoga. I was going to have mom join me after breakfast but she was choking on her food and just wanted to rest after all the stress.. She is better now.. Me, I just feel like I had a heart attack..

Take care!! Yes!! It is the Weekend!

I'm new to the group, and I like the idea of the Daily Check-in thread. But I have no idea what to say, so I'll just jump in and say 'Hello!' to everyone. :)

Oh the joy of country living!

DD#1 is out of town and we are playing Mom & Dad to 3 teenage grandkids.

Suddenly we have NO WATER! The repair guy is here looking at the well. Fortunately, there is water. The drought is always a concern. He's checking the pump and all that goes with it. Hoping for good news and water before the kids get home from school activities.

Stayed with the diet yesterday and staying mindful. Shopped for some of the foods to be prepared for what I need. Frustrated with this arm that won't go up without a lot of pain and frustrated to be in this spot again. Guess I will go on the soma's again and be grateful that they work. Need to get myself in that place that I work on what I can - like walking and squats.

I agree that gym classes sound fun, but my life revolves around other people's constantly changing schedules and needs so much that I have to have something more flexible. So mostly I exercise alone, whether at a gym or at home, except for the increasingly rare times my DD and I make it to the pool together. Oh well, it's my own fault for inviting everyone to live with me! Today I am taking care of a 3 yr old as well as the 2 yr old, so fun times ahead! Glad my migraine went away in the night. Not sure what exercise they will allow me to do--maybe chasing them?

Hi All, I walked 5 miles yesterday. Today I am home with the plumbers installing new heating units. I hope they all work well for a many, many years to come. I had to get a heat loan in order to pay for them. Pray it is all worth the money I am spending. My boilers are 35 years old and have issues like leaking gas so I am due for some new energy efficient ones. I belong to a gym but hardly ever get there. I walk my dogs three to four times a day. I walked yesterday to do errands. Hope you have a great day. Linda from bean town

Today I need to get up into the attic to do the job that I paid someone $830 to do and he didn't do it. The attic has no floor so I'll have to carefully walk the length of the lower level while bent over, along the joists and re-install insulation. I'll have to be sure to keep my anger at bay so that I don't do something stupid. One missed step and I'll go through the ceiling.

I have joined gyms in the past and would go for a couple of months, then be too scheduled to keep it up. I wish I knew how you all did it, while keeping the house cleaned, the laundry and shopping done and making 3 meals a day every day. The housework never ends. My husband goes to a gym, but he has never lifted a finger around the house. Maybe this is why people move into retirement communities.

Happy Friday! Half day for me. Feeling better, so hope to rest and ease back into training for my HM this weekend. I have committed to going to Halloween Horror Nights with my sister Saturday, but since she's a passholder, we get in early and shouldn't be out too late.

In good news, the guy finishes a contract today and starts a better paying one Monday. The current company wanted to keep him, but in a position that he's not suited to. This new contract may be for longer than 6 months, so that's exciting. It's also with a company that he's done multiple contracts with and that he likes, so yay! There is always the potential of being kept on (contract-to-hire), but no guarantee. The old place may also be expanding again in March, so he's got a jump on a position there if something opens up. Good progress, for sure.

My eating has been pretty good this week, even if I haven't put much fitness in. Hope to be finally be on a steady rhythm.

Have a good weekend, all!

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope everyone who's been sick is on the mend - I had a taste yesterday with a nasty migraine/intestinal distress that made me cut my work day short - AND, it was on a day I was working downtown which made it harder. Thankfully I'm feeling better today. Hopefully I'll be able to accomplish everything I left hanging yesterday!

No bike riding for me today, though - I'm glad I already had this 7:30 Dr. appt. scheduled, so this way I'm not disappointed that I shouldn't ride because being sick yesterday. Maybe I'll bike a little over the weekend, or bike to work on Monday instead.

You have every right to be proud, Kellie - and YAY for your daughter for taking action. I have a nice gym but it's a half hour drive from my home and the classes all seem to be at 9 or 10 a.m. or start at 6 in the evening so I don't take many classes. I can schedule time with a personal trainer and I may give that to myself as a Christmas present. My shoulder is pretty much back to where it was 2 years ago when I injured it. But I seriously heart my gym. If I go directly after work I always get in a workout no matter what the weather.

I was pretty stupid yesterday but it was fun to get back to work. Enough of my friends are interested in my trip to listen to me tell about it so that I am getting to process it and re-live it and just be happy about it all over again. Oddly, the two people I spend the most time with and care the most about are the least interested. This doesn't really hurt - but it is an eye opener.

so. after 14 days of drinking only espresso ... am I crazy to be looking at espresso machines?

Happy Friday to all!

HI all! Happy Friday! I'm up too early as well. The storms here and my sinuses woke me up. I tried to stay in bed but my bladder said "Let's party!" Ugh. so here I set at 4:45 am with coffee and waiting for the Allegra to kick in,

It's gonna be a long day. Might as well dig in and get to it. Going to bed early tonight. Have to get up very early to help out at the Chicago NEDA walk my daughter is organizing tomorrow. A lot of stuff to get from her place to the park and then I'm working the registration table. Always a bitter sweet day. I'm always so proud of my daughter for the progress she has made and for organizing these walks and then I will meet people trying to begin healing.

Onward and upward Sparkers!

Good morning!

Happy Friday! I'm awake way too early. Second time this week. Although I was able to go back to sleep last time. I have several errands to run before we head to the houseboat and may just knock out the grocery store before crossfit class.

Speaking of classes at gyms, I agree that they work best for me. I joined my current gym in 1996 and almost all of my visits include attending a class. Sometimes 2 classes back to back, like cardio followed by strength training. I just do not make myself work as hard on my own as I do with a trainer/leader. And if I get bored with a class, there's plenty of other options. Usually they are included in the membership and I resisted paying extra until DH joined and I got a free month of the Art of Strength and Dynamic classes he was taking. These classes ultimately changed to crossfit. And I do not get bored. Ever. And I have made some great like-minded friends. It's whatever works, right!?

Lots of healthy options for packing my lunch and dinner. Looking forward to a great day.

Hope all have a great Friday!
