Yes, I have my computer in my assisted living room. I don't get it on it much as my back hurts and legs swell when I do so haven't chatted.
Thanks to all of my emoticon ,s and especially to Marcy for keeping everyone updated.

Congratulations to birthdays, openings, exercise, and all accomplishments!

Calories in range, walking done, and lots of water - plus a shirt that was snug fits once again - YAY! So things are going well with me, and DH can see without his glasses.

Congratulations on 24 years.
My husband and I had coffee this morning with college roommate and of 58, yes, 58 years ago. We enjoyed over two hours of conversation and some great fruit along with our coffee.
Cardio only today with only a little shoulder PT. Strength training again tomorrow along with cardio.

Wow - finally getting to check in after a long day working, interrupted only by a visit to the physical therapist:).

I'm going to head home and change into my workout clothes - I need to get all my steps in, and have less than 3K so far!

Yesterday I was so beat I went to bed early (lights out at 10:30, and I felt so much better today - need to make that a habit.

See y'all tomorrow.

Yesterday was SUCH a LONG day! Got up at 6am and didn't get to bed until 6am THIS morning! After a regular Monday, TRX gym class included, I had to go back to work graveyard! Got in at 8pm and left at 530am!
I'm surprisingly wide awake after only 5 hours of sleep. I hope this doesn't throw off my days too bad.

Have a great rest of the week everyone.

Good morning! I am in my new digs after much stress. Still working on un-boxing, but such is life.

Kettlebells last night. I'm new to really using them too much, but some are similar to what I have been doing and some are tough. SP's calorie burn estimate seems way too high, though I do feel more challenged than with my old routines. Time shall tell. Run 3.5 miles on the training schedule. Hopefully, it won't be too crazy hot.

Hope that everyone has a good one!

Hi all! Nell, that is so cool your son opened a brewpub. When I ordered my miller lite with pizza my daughter said "oh mom, that pains me, just TRY something else."

I did not make my running group yesterday. So it was plan B, a 40-minute kickboxing video from Excersize TV. Then, since my son met Billy Blanks on a city train a few days ago, I searched Youtube for his 8-minute video I used to do before work years ago. I love that one! I was a sweaty mess, it was awesome!

The scale was up a bit this morning, I was suprised, but then thought back, I had a lot of carbs the last couple days. Carbs never used to sneak up on me like that. As I'm marching toward 50, things change.

Terrific Tuesday wishes all around!

Some of the 2 pounds fell off over the last day as soon as I got away from the heavy salt of eating out all the time.

I'm old enough to remember the old portion sizes. I am frankly offended by huge plates of food in restaurants. While traveling, you can't get a take away box, so I told the waitress to take away the excess right away and give it to the poor. Which they can't, but at least it wasn't in front of me.

Lots to do today. I'll be playing catch-up for a couple of weeks.

Yay for you Kellie - and Toni - for all the miles you're racking up. Happy Birthday to DH, Maree - hope you get a little time for movement. I always love it when I'm at a training session where movement breaks are built in. Welcome back Nell - I'm sure those 2 lbs will melt away swiftly. Travel always puts me into an anxious state too, though I do know to insist on daily walks when we're on the road. I'm not a beer drinker but there sure are a lot of craft beers popping up. Sort of like wine did a while back.

I was so tired yesterday I was pretty much worthless. I even scaled back the workout at the gym - I put in the time but turned down the resistance on the stationary bike. I knew that more effort would only have prolonged the recovery period. Feeling much more lively today. We ate up all the leftovers in the fridge last night and fortunately there was tofu stir fry for me. A little wilted tasting but still full of fiber. Tuesday is nearly always beans and rice - for sure it will be tonight.

My beloved niece leaves tomorrow and if I can I will slip away from work early today, even if it means driving back to town for the WW meeting. Some people are worth the effort. But however things turn out today I have loved having her with me the past 10 days. I am blessed.

I survived my first restaurant visit since going low carb/high protein. The restaurant (selected by our friends, not me) turned out to be a good choice. They have a Cobb salad loaded with what I wanted and, since I bootlegged in my own dressing, nothing I didn't want. I did what we should all do, given the gigantamundo portions restaurants serve these days, and asked for a takeaway box at the same time I ordered. Good thing, too. I commented to our waiter that there seemed to be something strange about my salad; I kept eating and kept eating and kept eating and the salad stayed the same size. It turned into yesterday's lunch, last night's supper and today's mid-morning snack.

I've read numerous articles about "portion distortion" and the way in which average servings are 30-50% larger today than they were 20 years ago. Even average plate sizes have gotten bigger. Here's an interesting visual; scroll down for the actual picture.

Good morning! So glad to check in at my regular time today. We are at the beach where my family will join us. First plane load today from Boston area.

Meanwhile it is my youngest son's birthday! Born on the night of shooting stars (-: He has to work, but is the one who is recently back from Spain. Will miss him, but the priorities are correct.

15K steps yesterday, much of it on a strong beach walk. Jet skied on the bay and inland waterway last night. Water was calm and pretty just before sunset.

Good morning!

Today is DH's birthday but we celebrated over the weekend so I don't feel too bad that I'm leaving town for work for 3 days. I hope I don't forget to pack anything crucial.

Welcome home Nell. 2 lbs isn't bad at all. Congrats Kellie on meeting your 30 mi 30 day challenge. I hope to jog or bike to the Lake while in the City but I have a feeling we're going to be kept very busy. What great memories you're making, Bess!

Heading to the gym this morning for30 min cardio and60 min crossfit. Train station at 8:15 am. Packing some healthy lunch (leftovers)!

Hope all have a great day!
