Two days of on and off sleep, this cold bug got me good! I'm getting restless, I may go to the gym at some point tomorrow, since the boss said to take the day off. Just have a bit of sniffles, and an itchy throat.

Donna, I thought as much. Didn't sound like you could have overeaten by over 10,000 calories, which you would have, or close to it, to gain three pounds of fat. It sounds like those days are behind you.

Ooops, missed this yesterday, the wifi was slow slow slow. Calories good, not quite enough walking because it got all drizzly. Today is sunny, heading out soon.

weighed in today at WW and lost the 3 pounds I gained last week. Water retention was the cause.

well the meeting with the dietian went well and the news was I was only up 2 lbs and with some searching we have come to the conclusion that the added muscle relaxants and pain pills are likely the problem. Since we can't eliminate them we are going to try adding 1-2 protein shakes split in half when the hungry urge hits from the meds and that way we will be adding protein instead of lots of carbs and still keeping the calories in check. Then we will check and re-evaluate in September. This will also allow me to add more fresh fruits and veggies to snack on and still meet my protein goal of 60-80 grams per day. Having had the bariatric surgery protein for me is critical, and I will also try adding some extra biking and dog walking if the body cooperates. I spent 26 years in a wheelchair before having surgery and losing 105 lbs and now have been out of the chair for over 3 yrs since the weight lose. That is the main reason I had the surgery, but sometimes the body just doesn't always cooperate and flare ups happen. I have a rare joint disease that has caused all my problems But at this stage I also refuse to let myself gain the weight back, so will try all I can do to keep it off and still get the exercise I need. Thank Goodness for water aerobics and water jogging. which I can do and not stress out the joints. Ok enough pity party and on to better living

MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it

Hoped to make it to the gym this a.m., but family responsibilities prevented, so did a good workout at home. Avoided the Mexican food potluck at work, and just ate my salad. In a hurry now, no time to write more!

Stayed home from work with a cold, but am going to a wedding this weekend and had car repair work that had to get done, so I loaded up on meds and took it in. Walked back a little under 3 miles. I'm feelin' it now. Will get horizontal soon and take the bus to pick the car up.

Hadn't seen the Beck mantras, but used one this morning (no choice) on the walk re: getting some breakfast along the way, though I let the dickering go on longer than I needed to before I remembered it. Glad now, or course.

Weight wavering a couple of pounds over salt. Okay by me.

Thanks for sharing the recipe MANDYCAT3. Sounds so good. I'd even like to try it with tilapia.

And KELLIEBEAN, you are doing so well with your exercise. You go girl!

As for me, it looks like another rainy day. We do need the rain but we have had rain every day in May except four. My feet are developing webs between the toes.

Hey Hey Hey, Happy Thursday!

Did some meditation yesterday. Really helps keep things in perspective! Did some planks during the Blackhawks game last night.

Today I'll be working on upper body strength. The warrior dash is next month. I will need all the upper body strength I can get by then!

Our big meal of the day will be "Lemony Chicken" -- a simple recipe I found in a magazine.

"Arrange sliced lemons of a rimmed baking sheet. Top with smashed garlic and fresh herbs (I'm using Tone's Rosemary Garlic Mix). Place chicken pieces or salmon on top and roast at 400 degrees, 35 minutes for chicken or 15 for salmon."

DH has assumed the role of fruit and veggie buyer, with the result that we currently have enough purple potatoes to feed all of County Galway. So purple potatoes and salad on the side.

Good morning! It's Friday eve! And even with a short week, it's looked forward to.

Run last night outside with the guy - just short of three miles. I forget how much different running outside is from the treadmill, and it was rough. I've only run outside 3 times since maybe March or so, so I have to get it back into my routine. Nutrition has been great. Just keep plugging away at it, and things will come.

Got to hop on my busy morning before it runs away from me. Hope that everyone has a good one!

Good morning, all! I've taken my morning walk (the air was thick with honeysuckle scent - lovely!) and done my PT/yoga routine, and now I'm doing my morning Sparking before setting to work. I'll be working from home today waiting for the A/C guy to diagnose our leak - I sure hope it's repairable. If not, we'll need to replace the whole thing.

I was very pleased yesterday when the scale went down to 128, but today it was up to 128.9 again. Like Pooh, I'm doing everything right but the scale won't budge; I'm also curious to hear what her dietician says. In the meantime, I'm keeping with my routine (checking in here helps), and making sure I get enough protein and fiber.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Hello maintainers! Thank you all for your kind words as I fight this nasty bronchitis thing. I seem to be fluttering round true health in much the same way I flutter around Happy Weight. pbbbbth. I was well enough yesterday to do a very gentle workout on the stationary bike but then I was so tired I bought Chinese for dinner - so I probably ate twice what I burned off.

Maree - I hope you find some relief for this sciatica. I've had only one really bad bout of it and that required bedrest for 2 days. Yay for the light packers. I always try to limit myself to the smallest suitcase but it took forever to break the PackTheHairDryer syndrome. LOL. I'm interested to hear what you learn from the dietitian, Pooh. And don't we all wish we could even out some of this rain? I'm sure Texas could spare some for California.

Off to werk for me but if I can get it all done today then I get to start my staycation tomorrow - quite an incentive, no? Cheers to you all.

Good Morning!

I am getting a late start. Our electricity must of gone out last night.
Coffee is brewing, can't wait for that first cup.

I have a 3 mile run planned for today. I am loving my taper week.

I hope to do a warm up cardio soon and push out the door. We are expecting some storms and want to get home before it starts up.

I have chiropractor appointment later this afternoon.. Maree, I love acupuncture. It really does help and hope you see some improvement. I also take my elder mother to have it done and it really has helped her.

Wishing all a great day!!

Good morning!

I've arrived in Ohio with my smaller bag (-: You are so right, Phebess and Poindextra, and I'm sure I could have done better still. There are 5 fairly formal dinners on this visit with the same people so I felt like I needed more. Thank heavens it's warm and summer dresses are light and don't take up much space! And we have a short family visit planned mid trip and I've already reserved a washer appointment for our undies!!

Yesterday I got in over 10K steps thanks to Dulles Airport. Golly, it was a nice long jaunt to find our gate. And the college where we are has gone local and healthy. Fresh asparagus and strawberries for dinner! (I ate around the pound cake...so proud of that.)

Glad you are pursuing what it takes to take care of your pain, Maree. And Bess, sounds like you are up and about. Hope you are well. I believe in showing up for funerals when we can, so good for you. I live a whole continent away from where I grew up and it kills me when a friend loses a loved one and I can't show up.

Have an excellent Sparky day everyone! emoticon

Good morning!

So only 7 hrs of sleep last night. Not bad I guess.

Congrats to those who had good weigh-ins yesterday and thanks for sharing your new mantras, Bess. "It does matter" and "no choice". I have only thumbed through Beck, but expect that you developed these mantras after some soul searching. Anyone else have a mantra to share?

And yes Toni the traveling without a scale presents another challenge, although I noticed a scale in the hotel's fitness room last week. (I did not step on said scale).

I plan to face the scale today after a week of travel and craziness. I feel good about making an appointment with a recommended professional (chiropractor, acupuncture, nutritionist, push massage) for June 15. I need to get this sciatic nerve pain licked and the PT exercises seem to have diffused it but not eliminated it. So I'm hoping this will work.

30 min cardio and 60 min crossfit this morning. Healthy lunch to pack.

Hope all have a great day!
