Blue Buffalo made my dog sick, so I discontinued it right away. If you have a Tractor Supply store in your area the 4 Health food is very good. My vet recommended it. We use the grain-free one.

I would NOT EVER recommend Blue Buffalo at all. We used to feed 2 of their formulas to our 3 Collies, and the older bay was essentially poisoned by it. Despite trying to get answers or any kind of support / assistance from the company all we got were denials of any culpability on their part.

Within months they were involved in a multi - million $$ class action law suit, but because we are Canadian, we were not able to participate in it. Our boy displayed ALL of the symptoms sited in the law suit....

He had Grand Mal seizures that started within about 10 days after starting on the Blue Buffalo, as well as chronic vomiting of mostly undigested food - usually 10 - 12 hours after eating, along with a number of other issues. Almost every single syptom disappeared completely within about 2 weeks after taking him off that food.

In the meantime - we spent a huge amount of money on tests, medications, etc - which didn't really matter to us - what DID matter was that his health remained compromised for the rest of his life!!!

We now use FROMM and are very, very pleased with the food as well as support from the company - and yes, I still live in Canada - which doesn't matter to them at all!!

You DO need to be careful about the protein levels in any of the foods out there. Many are far too high for most dogs - for example the Collies really shouldn't have more than about 22% - 25% protein .

Our new puppies are both on the FROMM GOLD puppy food and thriving!

try 4-Health from Tractor supply. It compares to Taste of the Wild, is highly rated on Dog food advisor, and only $39 for 40 pounds. My newfoundland thrives on it..my vet highly approves. win.win!!

After one of our dogs had an intestinal blockage from dehydrated dog food that didn't totally dissolve in water, the vet recommended Wellness brand dog food. It comes in several kibble sizes from large dog to regular to mini size for smaller dogs. It is made from human quality ingredients, and has never been recalled. It's pricey, but worth it. The dogs love the taste too. I get it online from Chewy.com, and it's a few dollars cheaper from them. They give free 2 day shipping if your order is over $50.

I use Taste of the Wild. The only problem I have is is that I have to get a feed store. In town I've seen that some if the independent pet store carry it.

I just got a Yorkie from my daughter and she kept bringing food into the front room and than I realized she doesn't like the smaller bits of food, I started separating the food and now she sledom does it anymore. So I am going to switch to a good quality food that doesn't have the little tiny bites. Any ideas?????????
