About time for the fire works to start again. The only difference it will make is the time of the day of the boom booms. We have had a lot of target practice going on around here

I would put a tight tank shirt on Oreo and it helped with thunder and fireworks. It's cheaper than buying a Thundershirt and it works pretty much the same, or I would wrap her tightly in a blanket and when the noise stopped, she would shake out of the blanket.

My Sadie had a rough time of it too. Although she is doing somewhat better now that she is older. She makes her own little cave under the end table - New Year's Eve we put a towel and a toy in there with her. She was still shaky, but wasn't crying and would peek out at us from time to time. We were lucky and didn't have to many go off on the other days.

I had 2 Corgis, male didn't care, female did all her life of 13 yr
now I have 2 poms, one could care less, the older one Hates loud booms. I have to time her potty time too. They do have pills from the vet for really bad times like July 4th
But they are expensive. If that's one night I can give her some comfort, its worth it.
They also sell those Anxiety .....wraps??? I don't understand how they are suppose to work, but they advertise they work. (Thunder storms and loud noises)

I Have even found if I put on their harness then they can't run away from me, and if I use just the collar with leash, she will pull her head out.
That scares me because Poms have a sensitive tracia ?? She would hurt herself.
Fireworks are suppose to be a no no after July 4th or 5th. IF a person is setting off several, you can report them. Check your State laws on Fireworks.

My Dobie jumped over a gate we had, ran about 3 blocks away,
a lady saw her, knew she was in panic/run mode and got her in her yard and then in her house. We had a tag with our Phone number on it. she called us to see if we were missing a dog. So of course we drove over and got her. Thank God we had a tag on her.
My dogs now days are Always CHIPPED. So they are double id'ed.

One house we had one time had a 1/2 bathroom in the center of the house, with a second story above.
so we put them in that bathroom with a radio on, when we checked on them from time to time, they were in good shape. Not shaky or anxious. but its rare to find a house with walls within walls for quiet insulation.

We have fireworks from mid December to mid Jan. One dog curls up in the back of his crate. He likes his crate to have a blanket over it and be under a table. The vet says I'm making a cave for him, and dogs can relax in a cave. A blanket might not be a good idea with a puppy. The other dog thinks if he bounces balls off the washing machine he will make enough noise so he can't hear the fire works. I'll hear him before the fireworks.

So sorry to hear it. You may already have done this but do look on internet for tips on how to handle this situation.
I know for example that it's important to distract the dog by putting on music, giving it small treats, and not acting like it's terrible or it will believe that it has reason to be terrified.
Our vet also has an 'air refresher' type thing that gives off hormones of a mother dog, seems to help to make a pup feel safe.
You might also try to find tips regarding how they train guide dogs to be unafraid of noise.

I just irks me when people do that. On the holiday I can see it, but people like that don't think of how it is affecting others around them. I feel for your puppy, poor thing.

My puppy is now terrified of going outside at night. She spent Sunday night on my bed shaking and terrified. Every night people are still setting off fireworks. Thankfully we took our 30 minute walk before they started tonight. As soon as we got home it started again. About an hour ago I tried to take her out 1 last time before bed and she runs and hides, poor baby is so scared to step outside at night time now.
