We don't have that problem here, but I agree with you. Is there anywhere anyway from people you can take your dog? We live in the desert, and have that option at least. Hardly anyone walks where we go.

May I always be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

I don't know why you can't take your dog on a leash to the park.

I agree with the little dog thing. I've been bitten 3 times, all by little dogs. Instead of training little dogs, people pick them up when they are misbehaving. That just encourages it. The little dog thinks it did good, since it's being hugged.

You might ask the park guy next time why it's okay for the little dog to be there. Maybe he'll get the hint. After all, he works for you. (Not that he's likely to see it that way.)

Good luck!

Our little dog totally dominates the big guy but he is the one everyone is scared of. Not the grandkids though they instinctively know he is such a wuss.

I'm with you, smaller dogs are tolerated better in public. In most of the cases that I have personally seen, the little dogs that are spoiled and let into public places like that are more aggressive than alot of big dogs in the same situations.

I see it all the time. Just the other day I saw a lady in Target with her little dog in the cart. Supposedly you can only bring in service animals, and this dog was not a service animal. He was just shopping with mom. My dog is too big to ride around in the shopping cart. Not that I think she would want to. But people with small dogs do take advantage. emoticon

I live in a city that does not allow dogs in the city parks. We have several nice parks with running paths - I have a sheppard mix that is not allowed at the park, however, last night when I was there running someone was there with a small dog running around on the soccer fields - the park ranger was right there and didn't ask them to leave or remove the dog. I go to the mall and these people push their dogs in carriages carry them around. But I can't do that because I have a big dog - some how that doesn't seem fair and I am very annoyed with the favoritism of small dogs - any one else agree.
