Eileen, I remember that show where they went to the pound and matched a dog with a family. Each family got one night with the dog and they each had certain things they were to do with the dog.

Susan, the show is on ION Life. I don't know how many areas have it. They have it here on antenna TV and I think they also have it on cable, but not sure. If you look up ION life TV I think they will list where they are and what their shows are. They have a bunch of new shows right now. Used to be they only had 6 episodes of the shows they had and not a lot of shows. There is also ION that has a lot of shows that have gone off the air on their regular channels. That's where I found out I liked a couple shows, which they have quit showing now.

I may have seen a show or two of his but not sure. He goes into the homes with bad behavior dogs and the one I see goes to the "pound" and gets a dog close to being put down and trains them to be adopted in a hand picked family for good matches. Certainly both needed and both very different handlers!

Sounds like the Dog Whisperer has changed since I saw it. He only ever took one dog away when I had satellite and could watch it and he traded them one of the dogs he had.

This guy has threatened to take the dogs away if the people will not learn to control their dogs and do the exercises he gives them. The lab they had today (the aggressive one) had total control of her owners and even bit him when he was working to get her to lay down. He just had hold of the collar and was using some pressure to get her to down and she went after him and bit him on both arms. He is more like that Victoria from England who was also on cable.

I don't know the name of the show but I have seen the dog whisperer working with dogs that have behavior problems and he does a great job. Takes and rescues a candidate and then works with it and gets it to the appropriate family for adoption. Dogs need emotional support just as we do.

Do any of you get this show? I just noticed it late last week and have been watching it. I can't tell everything he does with the dogs, but today he got through to an aggressive dog. Main problem the people had actually started with the dog because they thought when they brought her home she would be exactly like the dog they had before and so they didn't work with her when she wasn't. Most of the time they have been programs where the people have basically been ignoring the dogs. The dogs have a ton of toys and treats, but they get them for nothing. It's interesting to see the difference in the dogs at the end of the show. The aggressive dog today was out in an open field playing with several other dogs.
