Yes, it did take until around 1pm here for the fog to burn off. -- Took advantage of a break in the rain to care for our assortment of critters. (Been able to sell the poo for people to use as garden fertilizer. Think we're done for this year! -- 15 bins later!)

Definitely been a couple of "bonus" beautiful Fall days! I've enjoyed watching the trees / colors as I drive here, there & elsewhere!

We've had a couple of really pretty days. Yesterday was foggy here until mid-afternoon, but just a quarter-mile away (on the north side of the mountain) it was bright and sunny. The park that I frequent is on the north side, so I really enjoyed my walk yesterday.

Yes, I woke up at about 5:30 to thunder and lightning. It reminded me of growing up in Ohio.

Did you get all that thunder & lightening Thurs. AM? -- Woke up w/ a "bang" & then couldn't get back to sleep. Sigh....

Then we had some more rain in the late afternoon.

I will have to check the 10-day for the East side of the state. We leave Monday AM. Should be a nice change of pace.

Enjoy your reunion next month. I went back for my 50th (it's the only one I attended) and it was interesting to see everyone again and see how much the area had changed.

Thinking on locations for "exploring" further in the state. Planning to head out in Sept. for a week, w/ a stop in Spokane to coincide w/ a 40-yr High School reunion. It's been at least 30 yrs since I last saw any of my former classmates!

Crazy that the weatherman tonight, suggested that the long-range forecast showed the possibility that NEXT week will bring a string of the higher temps for the summer! ....just in time for school to start!

How disappointing to not be able to hike where you expected.

Last week I hiked Mouton Falls from East to West instead of from West to East. It was fun to see parts of the park that I haven't seen for a long time.
Today I did my normal West to East. The river is running more quietly now, but it is still running fast.

We drove up to Dougan Falls. Thought there would be places to hike. Every place needed a Discovery Pass & then one special kind of pass for Naked Falls?! -- Nothing was what I remembered from many a year past.

Pretty much all dirt road. Just a few sprinkles here & there. -- When we got home, there was a flood warning for North Clark County. Said there was an inch of rain w/in an hour. Indicated that streams & other low lying areas could be at risk.

Happy to have the 3-day weekend. Thankful for the many that have served our country.

We've visited 2 different restaurants recently. One was new-to-us: Biscuits Cafe. (just off 162nd Ave. SE) We will probably visit again. The food was overall good, but it closes by 2:30 pm so plan accordingly.

The other was called Szechuan Bistro. I guess if you want a fairly small amount of food, this works. The taste was fine, except I'm not much for deep-fried items. It would work for a "snack" or small-bite to tide one over.

I was able to go for a walk at the park again today. It did rain on me, but that was only for about 2 minutes.
We have a new flower in bloom this week. It is a tiny yellow flower with five petals that have brown streaks on them The flower is about "1/4" inch and has a lovely lobed leaf. It stands about 2 inches tall.

It was a day to "attack" our chest freezer & get it cleaned out & defrosted! Long overdue. It can be quite a chore, but thankfully, it is DONE now!
emoticon Life changes & shifts when the kids move out & on. -- Now that I know what all is there, I will be better able to plan meals around our meat!

Sunday will be a birthday dinner out for DD. She is the last in the family to leave the "teens". -- I'm so thankful that all of them are gainfully employed.

Hope you enjoy your "outside" time @TOWHEE !

The first of our daffodils opened today. They've been showing color for quite a while now, but today they opened.
I'm really loving the warm weather. I had an inside activity today that I couldn't change, but tomorrow I plan to spend a lot of time outside.

March is clearly arriving in "lion" mode. The wind is really "biting" and making it difficult to get outside for a walk. Br.r.r.....!

I have a whole flat of primroses waiting to be planted. They are already past their prime due to the extreme weather we've been having.

We got another 4" of snow last night. It's fun to watch the neighbor kids enjoy the snow. We have a different group of kids now than we've had in the past. Some of the kids have grown up and others have moved away. The new group is significantly different from the old group.

We had 2" of snow when we woke up this morning, but it was melted from the driveway and road by mid-afternoon. We still have a blanket on the roofs and grass.

Another week has passed. It's been a challenge to walk outside - given the rain we had and now the fog, but I've been lucky enough to find a bit of time each day to be outside.

Glad to have a 3-day weekend. Will be crossing the bridge into the next-door state on Sunday.

I really enjoyed today. Yes, it was a bit windy, but the sun was out and the "bite" in the air that we had yesterday wasn't here today.
I can't ask for much better weather for January!

The following is more of a reminder as we get through the darker days of Winter in the Pacific North"wet". emoticon

Just an FYI... building / creating "good" health! emoticon

IMO the more things you do to build & support a strong immune system, the better your body will be prepared when exposed to viruses, bacteria, and other "attacks" from within & without!

* stress can cause a LOT of harm to the body! -- learning to manage it in healthy, balanced ways can definitely boost your immunity
* adequate sleep -- the body restores itself during sleep; without healthy sleep, the body will wear down quicker
* adequate nutrition -- the more one-ingredient foods one can take in (without added chemicals), the more the body can be nourished with vitamins, minerals, and fiber
* regular movement of some sort! -- Move it, or lose it!

2018 was a tough year but some great things occurred too. Going to make sure 2019 is a great year with some new goals committed to and will be achieved

I am not so much into resolutions as creating new awareness's to life. I like to focus on a word that will focus my awareness. My word for 2019 is LOOK. I want to make sure I take time and quality resource to LOOK at new things an appreciate their beauty and value.

I hope 2019 is the best year yet for all....

Well it was a busy day today. We took down all the ornaments and decorations and boxed them up for next year. Earlier this year we bought an artificial Christmas tree. It doesn't have the character of a "real" tree, but we don't have to worry about remembering to water it or to deal with needle drop.
We had rain this morning, but it cleared up this afternoon, so I was able to go outside for my walk. We had horrible winds the other day, so there is a lot of cleanup to do. If it is clear tomorrow, that will be my "project of the day".

Hoping that the shorter work week is agreeing with folks! emoticon
I have a half day Thurs. Then back to a full day on Friday. Working to make the best of it, whatever turns up.

I don't have any awesome plans for the year. But we do plan to keep working on getting rid of more stuff. -- My target is Spring Break to get through the rest of things stored outside. It will have to find a home somewhere else!

Maybe adult son will be available to help empty out the garage...since he would like a place to work on his vehicle.
