I usually give our troop their star/year pin at the end of the year. This is mainly because I don't live close to our council shop, and it is easier and more cost effective to order all awards at once than to do it bit by bit through the year. We also generally have more funds available after cookie sales (our council does them in January & February), so it works better from a financial perspective as well.

Our current troop earns their stars at the last Court of Honor each year. Our first troop earned them at the beginning of the year. I don't know that there is a right or wrong way to do it because like another said, they're for years of service and once registered, you're registered for a given year.

We do the year star pins AFTER the end of a year, at the final Court of Awards.

We do ours at the end. The star is a recognition of years active in girl scouts, so you could do it at the first meeting once they've registered for the year. I think that is your call.

Our girls earn the wages pin she. They have done a project (it can be as simple as make
Ing a food, playing a game, or doing some research) related to a wages country. We used to have the girls pick something to do and then had a inking day event where each girl / group of girls had a 'booth' where they presented and then had a ceremony at the end when they were awarded their pins.

Can someone explain to me if the girl scouts get that star shaped pin AFTER a year in GS or during their first year? I asked at the store, and she said after, but read something that made me think once they were registered, they got it.

Also, the WAAGS pin, when/how do they get that?
