That is FANTASTIC. My Cadette Troop just held a "Daisy Art Day" for daisies in the area, and we had 3 disabled girls at our event. They were SO sweet! It's fantastic that you're signing up to do this!

I left 3 registrations with a family today. The girls are adopted from China! Two are 5 years old and one is 7, but they all be daisies. Now I will have enough girls to start a troop of Daisies & Cadettes.

I sent an email to the girl placement director for my area asking to send me girls, especially disabled girls. We will see what happens.
I am so excited to be hopefully starting a troop.

As far as I know our council doesn't have anything. I have been told in my training to feel free to adjust requirements to meet what a girl can do - you still want the flavor of the IP/badge/try-it but to feel free to substiture. That is really neat that you are able to offer these girls the chance at scouting.

What a great idea!!! I don't know of anything around us, but I'm new to it all.

Do you have any disabled Girl Scouts?
I am opening our troop to any disabled girls (Non-disabled too).
My own daughter has physical limitations. She seems normal then suddenly she falls from severe joint & muscle pain. She also has heart defects.
Our council used to have a camp just for disabled girls. Do any of your councils offer this?
I plan to use all my skills I acquired from my career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant years ago to adapt girl scout activities for our disabled girls. My daughter is so excited.
