I'm sure your heating system is made for Florida, not Iowa. I usually keep our house pretty chilly, but when it's so cold, I want to turn it up. I don't even want to see the electric bill. Ouch!

This week we are supposed to get up into the 30s and 40s. Of course the three feet of snow will start to melt and create a massive ice skating rink on the roads. But oh it will feel so good to be warmer. Yeah! Pretty pathetic when you're excited about the thirties.

I'll second that one. We didn't get snow, but it's sleeting here in Florida. We have had freezing temperatures 4 mornings this week, and are supposed to get our coldest temperatures in the next two days. I' don't mind it being cold when I go out, but I hate being freezing in the house. Our heat pumps aren't made for freezing weather according to my husband, and that's his business.

We're both thrown out of our elements. Whether its 32 degrees or 32 degrees below. It's cold!

We went into freezing temps last night and it's supposed to stay below 32 for 3 days - I know it's not much compared to the north, but it's not supposed to be like that in so tx. I only have a trench coat with a zip in lining. I am freezing too, so we can whine together.

My kids have missed more school already this year then in the last two years put together. We haven't even started semester tests yet. Which is a good thing for my son. He needs every extra minute he can get. But for crying out load we are already over our yearly normal snow amounts. I've had my long underwear on for four days now. And I hate to wear long underwear, but it's cold. Now I'm whining!

As I said in my cookie post, we start sales this Sat. and it is to be one of our coldest days. So my husband made a huge pot of chilli. It smells wonderful and tastes so good. Hello to another pound.

I grew up in the north and I miss snow, but that's a little extreme. It's been below freezing here two of the last three mornings, and it's expected to get colder this weekend. In fact it could even snow over the weekend, the first time in 22 years. I live in central FL between Tampa and Orlando. Since my kids have never seen snow except in pictures, I hope it does.

I hear it is cold in Florida. Yikes! Coldest Rose Bowl in history. Our Iowa Squakeyes had a good advantage on those Georgia players. It's been around 10 below here with wind chill of negative 25. It's been record lows for most of December. I'm sick of it! Supposed to get 9 more inches of snow tonight. It really makes it hard to go outside and do anything. Yes, makes you want warm soup and hot chocolate.

I work out in the morning, after the kids leave for school. I have two hours from the time they leave until the time that I can start job hunting, since they catch the bus at 6am.

My problem right now is that we are eating all wrong, because it's really cold in Florida and we are eating soup, chicken and dumplings and all those warm and fat foods.

I did terrible today already. I've had a rough couple days at work and my friend said she wanted to go eat somewhere fattening today, since she might have to start chemo soon. So I indulged with her.

I wish we had something at work to do at lunch - times I have worked where there was something there, i was much more dedicated. Went to the Y last night to get set up on their tracking machine. Pretty cool. Of course the programs me in for 3 aerobics a week, plus who knows how much weight training. It make me stress just to think of trying to get the gym that many times. Tonight we have a leaders meeting for GS, so no workout tonight. That coconut cake in the fridge will be calling my name all night.

That is my problem too! Time! And when I do find a little extra time, excerise is the last thing on my mind. I'm trying to use the treadmill at work on my two 15 minute breaks. But I don't want to break too much of a sweat there.

When I had a Y membership I used to take my daughter with me. She played downstairs in the playroom they had for kids that were members - and it was free. She played or did whatever she brought with her. Sometimes she did homework others played. Also, while a member I took a class as she had a class. If she didn't want to go downstairs she came with me and sat and watched.

I agree with you that there just isn't enough time in a day sometimes. Now that she is older and her 1/2 sister is living with us too I am more free to go while they stay at home. Mostly now that I don't have a membership I kick them out of the basement and I get my workout in while they find something to do.

Mondays are a no go for a workout. We have our Girl Scout meeting from 6:30 - 8 so by the time I get home from work and take the dogs out and feed kids it's time to go. So that is my day off of working out.

I went to Zumba at the YMCA last night. Thought I was going to die. Shows how out of shape I am. Spark doesn't have Zumba as an exercise logging choice. I am surprised as it's very popular now days. The tough part is, I got home from work, dressed, went to the "Y", got home at 8 p.m. That meant a late dinner for all the family and no time to get anything done. Don't know how people do this and have a life. And this only worked because my duaghter is on Xmas break - otherwise I would have needed that time to help her with her homework. Just not enough hours in the day. How do you manage your workout time?

I have been trying to do my Denise Austin and WATP videos, but lately I've been better about walking on the treadmill at work. I don't like it, but there's not much better to do on my 15 minute breaks, so it's a little motivation. I've been watching what I eat so far since Saturday. I want to do more work outs at home. I've been thinking about joining the Y again. It's just so much money though.

I have a few Wii games I enjoy to keep me motivated. The Wii Fit Plus, EA Active, Gold's Gym, DDR, and now I have Wii Biggest Loser. I did it twice now and it made me sweat and swear at Bob. lol

Well, it's almost that time . . . goal setting. For me, it's always about weight. This year more so than ever - after working nights and weekends since Sept., my weight is the highest it's ever been. Does anyone have any new ideas? I had hoped Sparkpeople would have one of those challenges (like the swimsuit one) but don't see anything. I asked for the Jillian Michaels WII game, got it and it's really lame - not nearly as good as the DVD. Just wanted something new to get me motivated, as I am pretty down about this.
