Well, my kids are eating them... maybe not the best thing. I am not sure if there is anything like that around here...I am new to Germany. I get lost here so easy I don't get out to much unless I have a very good map with good directions.

I do bring some to work and I give some to my neighbors. They love them.

Hey Sophia
Is there an old age home or shelter near you that you could donate them to. I am sure there are lots of people who would love to get some of those cookies.
So glad we don't do cookie sales, Its hard enough staying on track without that extra temptation LOL

If your not going to sell them maybe you can give them out as gifts to friends and neighbors. I would never make it with the cookies in the house. I would eat the whole box at one setting. Good luck.

Cookie season is over but I still have 2 1/2 cases in my kitchen. I had to put them away in a closet because each day I wanted to eat 4 or more. I purchased these from my daughters troop so we could be done with selling cookies and now I have to hide them from myself. LOL...

OK ladies no more Snake talk. I got home from work on Friday to find a grass snake in my dining room. My cat had brought it in and was playing with it. UUUGH I hate snakes LOL

I wish I had Cali weather! I miss it, grew up there in SoCal. Now I am in Texas, and honestly it's either 40 or 100 degrees. It's like there is no middle of the road. Right now and for the next few weeks is about the only time period throughout the year where it's not too humid or too hot to do outdoor activities (unless it's swimming). I really am fond of my treadmill and elliptical for this reason. We have copperheads here, but been living here 3 years and I have only seen one thank God!

I am not a snake psychologist or anything. But I am coming to the conclusion that their really nothing to worry about. Just got to make sure you know where your footing is. They don't seem to be that aggressive. Its not the first or the last one I will probably run into. I practically have stood on them in the past before I realized they were their. Never got bit.

Thanks for your reply. Have a good time at your church retreat this weekend.

Hey Obosage
Glad I didn't meet the rattler with you, I can't stand snakes.
Crime is a big problem in South Africa. This means that things like hiking etc can be dangerous as you are an easy target. A friend of ours was held up and stabbed in a local Mountain Bike reserve on one of the trails recently. They took his bike and his cellphone. Unfortunately this happens often here. It doesn't put me off, just means we have to be more selective and careful about where we choose to go for outdoor recreation.
Going away this weekend to a Church retreat so will be able to do lots of walking etc while I am there.

I live in Southern California along the foothills. Summers here gets to hot that I will probably be making it up to are local Mountain to hike instead. Its a little cooler up higher. But I wont have to worry about that until summer. Though yesterday it was hot enough I got a sunburn and ran into a rattle snake on our hike. I feel pretty safe, but I always bring a phone. How come you don't feel safe hiking?

Hey Joni
Welcome Back. Baby steps are great just keep at it. Consistency is the Key. Please let us know how your food tracking is going.
Sooooooooo glad we don't have Cookie Sales, that would have been too much for me to handle.
OBOSAGE where do you live? sounds Idealic, mountains, nature, hiking. I love hiking but here in SA its not always safe especially to go on you own.
My exercise of choice at the moment is Water Jogging but getting a bit cold now. Soon I will have to go back to walking on the road. Bummer, I hate being hot and sweaty

I never said that's exactly what you have to do. I just said make it something you enjoy or purposeful. And to let you know its not easy even now I get out of breath. But at the begging it was hard. But because it was something that I enjoyed(being outside) it gave me pleasure. Did you really think I just hiked up the mountain with out it be hard especially at the begging? I like my where I was at. Or when I walked to my kids school I knew they had to get to school and it actually made us closer. I understand that you may live far away from the school. But their may be other ways you can use purposeful walks. Like walking to the post office or the store to buy groceries. Something other than thinking just about the exercise at hand.

I doubt if you weighed more than 275 pounds you'd be hiking 6 miles straight up mountains LOL! I am all for exercise, but I'm not so much into suicide. I'll try to make it fun.. I'll listen to music or watch TV while I walk. I'll tailor my exercise program to suit me and be effective. But I can guarantee I won't enjoy it, and I may never enjoy exercise. Everyone is different!

I hike five to six miles every time I go out strait up mountains. I bring my camera witch makes me more in tune to my surroundings and sometimes my binoculars. In some of my pictures you can see where I hike. Its a pleasurable experience. I breath heavy and my legs are tired when I am done, plus the dog gets walked. I always feel better after I have walked. A lot of the time I am out their I see something like deer, coyote, butterflies, flowers, etc. It makes it enjoyable.

I started this year off small steps. Jan was watching my food intake. Feb was to exercise atleast 15 min every day. By end of the month I was trying to add a couple 30 min in too. I did get all my 15 min in. March is to wake up earlier. Not going well at all. I still can't get my rump out of bed.

LOL I don't mean to laugh... but the thought of walking my kids to school did crack me up. I know you have no way of knowing this, but I live in rural South TX and the kids' school is over 8 miles away. That would be one HELLUVA walk! haha

Exercise *IS* a job... it is effort, it's not meant to be easy or enjoyable... it's damn hard and because of all that, it's what makes doing it meaningful. I'll get there, but right now, it's TOO HARD. I just have to take things one day at a time. Controlling what I put in my mouth is step 1, exercise will come soon enough, don't I know it!

I Read your topic. My husband never even saw the Girl Scout cookies. He had to go away for a week for work and I had a stressful week that week. So I ate them before he got back. But then I bought two boxes the day before he was scheduled to come back and I managed to eat them too. Their are no more cookies in the house and that is the way it has to be. I have lots of bad days, but I also have lots of good days. The one thing that does help me is exercise. I burn about a thousand calories every time I exercise. I also do it at least four times a week. So in the end I think it helps for those bad days. My exercise has to be distract able too for me to be consistent. So I hike in my local mountains. But if you make it pleasurable exercise or make it purposeful like walking your kids to school, etc. Then it will help to motivate you. Don't make exercise a job.

Weight Watchers BOMBED for me. I dont want to go into the reasons why, they are all on my Sparkpage and in my blog entries.

But as of this week, I am committing myself to jumping back in the saddle again here at Sparkpeople. For this week I want to make the vow that I will AT LEAST log in my food to the food tracker. I can't commit to anything else right now.... baby steps. Next will be exercising for a certain amount of time, 3 days a week. I haven't thought any further ahead yet. That's enough for me right now.
