No Resolutions for me
But this year I am going to
1) Stop making excuses for my weight. I know what the problem is (ME) and what I have to do about it (exercise more, eat healthier etc)
2) Get Organised - Home, work, Guides everything
3) Do my campers licence so I can take my girls camping without asking the outdoor chairmen to come with.

Can't do the bootcamp as my computer is at work and I don't know if I can download the videos to watch at home. Anyone know if it is possible?

4) Chat to everyone more often so we can make this a really fun Team full of motivation and support.

We don't have the power to make rainbows or waterfalls, sunsets or roses but we do carry within us the power to make the world a better place.

I don't do resolutions, but this is going to be the year that I take care of me.
- I'm going to loose weight. Eating smaller portions, because I have always eaten healthy, just a little too much.
- I started the New YOU Boot camp, so am exercising everyday, which was hit or miss in the past, (mostly miss). My husband and I went to the park, and played softball with our kids for 3 hours on Jan 2nd, because my daughter wants to try out for the softball team next year.
- I'm also going to have a surgery I have put off for two years.
I'm determined that this will be the year that I become a better me.

I was sorting through emails last night and found the invitation for the New YOU Bootcamp. It looks great. Today's video was already posted so I watched and am so pumped about the program. It has a hint of competition which helps with my motivation factor tremendously.

I think the bootcamp here looks great. It only a 10 minute cardio video plus you do 30 minutes on your own. But I think it's just what I need to make me do something exercise wise. You can take a look at the team board and see the first video (it starts today) without joining and see if you like it.

1. I do resolutions every year. They are always the same. Eat better, exercise more, work harder at my job, get more organized. . . Sometimes I start out good, but end up losing track by the end of January. This year will be different on a few fronts though. I have the Sparkpeople advantage for eating better and exercise this year. I have found other motivations as well. I plan on playing soccer and softball again this year. Both seasons start in Feb so I am excited about that.

2. I have hit a solid plateau as far as weight loss. My weight hasn't changed much for the past 6 weeks or so. I haven't been eating the best lately. Eating out too much and having large portions. A consistent healthy breakfast and continued exercise has kept me stable. I think if I go back to what helped me drop the first 17 lbs I can get down closer to my goal.

3. My husband has started running with me or sort of competing for better running times. He continuously tells me how good I look. These are things that help keep me motivated. I am also looking forward to running in another 5K this year.

I have seen ads for bootcamps round town, I haven't checked into the Sparkpeople bootcamp. Does it look like a good program?

1. I don't do resolutions either.

2. My goal is to keep exercising and to watch what I eat and try to stay low in calories more then I have been. I want to get in a lot more exerise then I have been. There is a link for a challenge that is to walk 500 miles in 2009-I want to do that.

3. I just like to eat and I eat too much. I don't always make the best food choices either.

Not going to do the boot camp. I am going to use my videos more faithfully.

1. I don't do resolutions, but I have set some goals.

2. One goal IS to loose weight. I've been shooting for 175 for about a year now and I'll continue on that journey until I get there!!!

3. My weightloss issue is medications. So much so that I lost one Rx on accident and went a month limited pills and ended up gaining 8 pounds!!! Now that I'm back on schedule with that, I'm hoping to shed those 8 pounds by the end of January to get me back to the 180 mark I was at the beginning of December!

I'm still toying with the New You Bootcamp. I may join at the last minute.

I'd rather be camping!!!

Hopefully the New Year will get more participation in this group. To start us off, how about a discussion on the New Year, for example:
1. Do you make New Year's resolutions? Are they pipe dreams, or SMART goal setting? What were yours?
2. If you goal is to lose weight, do you aim for that ideal weight, even if it's not makeable?
3. In discussing weight loss with my hubby on NYE, he said something that really has liberated me . .. he said "your problem is not eating - you eat fine, not too much at all - it's obvious that your metabolism is not high enough . . . exercise must be daily". Well, I guess I knew that, but hearing it from someone else made me feel free from the burden of greiving over every bite I had. What about you? what keeps you from wight loss?
Hopefully one of these topics (or one of your choosing) stimlates discussion.
P.S. I am going to do the bootcamp on Sparkpeople - any other GS folks doing it?

One day at a time . . .
