We used www.freewebs.com.......I didn't set this one up so I have no idea. The one we paid for was pretty easy to use. It was self explanatory. But it was $80 a year. Not sure how much the free sites limit you.

How did you build your troop site? Even though I work in IT (mgmt) I know nothing about setting up a website but would love to learn. Just don't know how to go about it.

Great site! We had one, but our girls don't meet much anymore and the parents never used the site anyway. I had it so each girl had their own page and I listed out what badges they earned and what badges were hanging with just a few requirments left to complete. We posted permission slips on the site so parents would have access to them handy (no addresses or locations were listed). It was a great site, but only the leaders used it. It was too much work and money for nothing. Our SU has a site. It is a free site, but there again the leaders don't utilize it. It's very frustrating.

Spoke to my Service Unit and Council members today and they will forward the guidelines.

I want to get to a healthy weight and stay there forever. I don't have to make huge changes all at once, just small ones consistently.

What a terrible thing for them to have gone through. You would think that with all the technological advances we have that we'd have a better way of warning about tornadoes so that people would have the time to get to a safe place.

I am very sad too about the Boy Scouts. My son is Thirteen years old. If any group was more prepared it was the Boy Scouts. I completely trust in all they do. I have camped during the summer times in their big camps beside our own troop camping and know how they are run. I have always said to others how impressed I am about Scout camp and that no matter what I know the Boys will be safe because they are their and not at some other kind of camp. But Their are things that simply are out of are control. So I am sad for them and their families.

OBOSage,
it is nice that the boy scout troop will allow your daughter to go along, with my sons troop they did not allow tag-a-longs except parents for certain overnighters.
Please read my blog entiled fragile life regarding the boy scouts we recently lost to a tornado.

50LB2LOSE,

Thanks. These Boy Scouts do some fun things. I hope are Girl Scout troop will do things like they do. Are leader is a outdoor person and went on the river rafting trip with us. Both of our own Girl Scout girls went river rafting too. When my son goes on a trip I go to and I have a option to take my daughter with us witch is really cool this weekend they are climbing Mt. Whitney. Were not going, but I hope they bring pictures back.

Great Website Congrats
We do not have one for our units or our Region. Only the South African Guiding one. There is some great info and recipes on it though so come over and take a peak www.girlguides.org.za

We don't have the power to make rainbows or waterfalls, sunsets or roses but we do carry within us the power to make the world a better place.

Please look at Safety Wise for the rules about troop websites. I don't have the newest edition handy but in the 2000 edition it's Chapter 11 starting on page 128. You might want to run anything you have by your Field Director (or whatever your Council calls them!) before actually posting it to your site.

We don't have a troop website. I really, really wish we did. I did organize a service unit website - you can see it at www.pearlandgirlscouts.org.

It does look great, you have taken care in making it I can tell. It is especially helpful to have links to the council and times for the shop to get items such as sashes etc. Great job! emoticon

It looks good to me. Our Girl Scout troop doesn't have a web site the Council does of course. I wouldn't know how to do one anyways. Now my son's Boy Scout troop has a Website, but I didn't create it. Yours look really informative. www.claremonttroop402.org

It looks great! My only suggestion is not to list where the meetings are held. My council is big into not disclosing too much info about location, times and the girls due to safety reasons (on individual troop sites). There are lots of coo-coos in this world and you definately don't want one just showing up at your meeting. It looks great though! I should make one for my troop! I'm impressed how organized you look by already having your meeting dates planned for next year. I haven't even thought of when our first meeting will be after summer. lol.

I've created a website for my troop.
Please stop by and take a look.
Tell me what you think.

Anyone else have websites?
I may need to 'steal' ideas.
