Hey all there is a pic on my Spark Page, not very clear cause we used the camera phone but it will give you an idea. And Hey you will get to see what I look like. I will replace it once the official photos arrive. Oh and Melissa and her date had their picture in the local newspaper as well. That really made her week.

Wonderful! I appreciate the report back and can't wait for the picture. I am so glad you found something you felt comfortable with wearing. Sounds perfect!

The ball was beautiful, the dress was finally ready on Friday at 7:00. I ended up wearing the black skirt with a black shirt I just had to buy on Friday. It was long sleeved with gold and topaz coloured beading on the neckline, loked good. I will post a pic later in the week. Thanks for all your love and suport the last few days it means a lot to me.

I do love a good marshmellow! :) I do like the idea of the pink with the black. Great idea!

Thanks for the help everyone. A lady in the church has leant me 2 outfits. A long Black skirt and Black jacket (Melissa asked if I was going to her funeral) and a lovely pink outfit but it makes me look like a marshmallow, just too much pink. I was thinking of wearing the pink blouse with the black skirt. I saw a lovely Suede suit yesterday with a calf length jacket and pants but it was R399 which is a lot for me so it will probably stay in the shop HaHaHa. Will let you know what I end up wearing and try post a pic of us all.

It does say formal - not "formal for girls". If your daughter doesn't want you to wear floor length, I'd go for a cocktail dress, like below the knee and dressy. Sort of middle road. Are there any other moms going you could ask?

I would think they the mother is expected to wear at least a tea-length gown.

I want to get to a healthy weight and stay there forever. I don't have to make huge changes all at once, just small ones consistently.

I certainly have never been in this situation, but I would absolutely thing you would need to be pretty dressed up. Maybe nothing "slicky" or anything. :) I am picturing a "mother of the bride" dress rather than a bridesmaids? Good luck and let us know what you end up doing! I love pictures. :)

I know that someone wil be able to help me. Melissa's Debutantes ball is this weekend. The invitation says Dress Code Formal. Mel will be wearing a Ball gown, Hubby is wearing a suit but big question what should I be wearing. My daughter says the mothers shouldn't be wearing evening wear but we are presenting our daughters to the invited guests and it is an evening function so what should I be wearing? Please help, I am getting desperate.
