I am really disappointed - my council just announced when they will tell us all about it - right in the middle of my FL vacation in June. Bummer.

One day at a time . . .

Thank you for the information. We (Service Unit Yellow Wildflowers (GA)) will have our first formal taste of the new changes at our End-Of-the-Year meeting, June 14th.

I want to get to a healthy weight and stay there forever. I don't have to make huge changes all at once, just small ones consistently.

WOW, my head is spinning with all I experienced and learned at the Spring conference in NJ. It was an interesting mix of staff and volunteers from a bunch of Councils. I was surprised at some of the animosity between some people from councils that are merging. We (3 staff and 2 volunteers from VT) traveled down with four (2 staff, 2 volunteers) from New Hampshire and we found we're pretty close to being on the same page. We've been working on the merge for quite awhile though.
There is so much going on! Here are a few highlights:
SES/Single Entry System-all new volunteers will undergo the same 10 step process the the first 5 steps (from welcome to acceptance) taking place in a 10 day time period.
Trainers will have options to continue as face to face facilitators, coaches etc depending on their specialty. Orientation will be online (and it's really cool!) and Leadership Essentials (3 hours) will cover what is now done in Basic and age level specifics.
The Journey books are fantastic! I think the girls are going to love them and they will give leaders (especially new leaders) a kind of 'road map' for working towards the outcomes GSUSA will be looking for (with the ultimate outcome aligning with our mission) The new materials will be out this summer with another Journey series to come out in fall 2009.

I don't want to go into too much detail because each Council will likely have some kind of roll-out but if anyone has a burning questions they want to ask, I'll try to answer it!
