As you can tell from my weight strip, I have very few yay me times. But I had one yesterday. I took my duaghter to her group tennis lesson, and one of her friend's dads invited me to play. He was really good and I thought I'd die before the hour was up. Then all the kids came off the court and wanted to play, so I did another hour of tennis (this one was a little less intense) - but WOW 2 hours of excercise . . . and I even enjoyed it.

One day at a time . . .

Maybe we should make this a STICKY topic so it stays at the top to remind us of how important it is to remember the small victories.
I am not having any Yay Me moments as I am in a bit of a slump but reading what we have all achieved reminds me of what I can do if I set my mind to it
Well done on your achievements ladies

I've lost 2.5 pounds since joining SP on June 24, 2008.

I just took my measurements today, so will have to report back on those later.

No has posted to this one in a long time. We need to keep it going.

I've only lost 9 pounds since I joined SP in January, but I've lost two inches in both my waist in hips since I started doing Dancing with the Stars Cardio a few times a week two months ago. Yay me!

I ran yesterday. Ok it was more of a jog but it felt really good. I decided to walk all the way home and just tried a little jogging. Jogged 400m the first time, 500m the second time and about 300m the 3rd time with about a 3minute recovery inbetween each set. emoticon
Today I forgot my running shoes at home so DH is going to fetch them at lunch time so I can try do the same tonight

I'm sick of Subway too. But I keep going there. Yay me!

That's great that you get to walk and still not have to worry about going the entire way - unless you are up for a challenge that day.

Last night we had a garage sale (made 185 in 3 hrs! I was happy!). Anyway - we were going to just "grab" something and our local options in our small town are mexican, chinese, pizza, Subway, or Dairy Queen. My husband never picks Dairy Queen, but last night he did. I immediately typed in my lowest calorie options (that I could live with) and found I would be over by like 200 calories for the day. When I told him that he said "ok, then we'll do Subway!". YEAH for him and me. Fries were sounding really good after all that thinking about them. :)

Hi everyone
I am back after a frustrating week
I walk home every day and my DH picks me up whereever he passes me usually about 3-4km. Yesterday he was late and I had walked 5km by the time he passed me. So I carried on walking and finished the whole 7km's home in 70minutes. It felt really good.

Yay! That's awesome. We have someone at work that brings food in every day. Cookies, donuts, what ever. I try to stay away from there until later in the morning. If he brings the Walmart chocolate covered donuts......I am so done for.

thats exactly what this thread is about. Doing something good for ourselves when we really don't want to. Hey 1 mile is great, every mile walked brings you a step closer to your goal of ultimate health and fitness.

I had an eye doctor appointment this morning. It seems my left eye is wearing out (old age). She suggested wearing one contact, as I am trying now and it feels like there is an eyelash in my eye all the time. Ugh!!!
Off subject, my appointment wasn't till 9 a.m. and my first thought was sleep late. But then I thought: I can get up an walk. So I did sleep a little later, suited up and walked a mile. Not the exercise of all time, but haven't walked in a while.

Ok so I have been sick and not exercising but now I am all better but stil not exercising. Emily woke up early (5:30) on Sunday morning and wanted me to watch her ride her bike outside. Instead of watching her I ran up and down with her and did some stretches or weights at the top every time. YAY ME
DH thought I had been for a walk when he eventually woke up. HA Ha Ha

Honestly, I rarely have a "yay me". Today I declined an invitation to go out to a free dinner (company dinner for an out of town visitor). It was steak at a VERY nice steakhouse, complete with drinks and expensive wine. Beef is one of my worst enemies weight wise. It took a lot of determination to say no. Did I mention cheesecake?
So I will be eating grilled chicken breast at home.

I had a rough 2 days taking our 2 kids to St. Louis for a mini-vacation over our spring break. It was not successful for weight loss, but I made some good choices:

1. We went to the Cheesecake Factory (ugh!) and my husband and I split a sandwich and fries (he had 2/3) and the 4 of us split one piece of cheesecake!
2. Yesterday morning while my husband and kids were at the pool I went to the hotel gym and had a great workout!!!

Yay me!

Hi everyone
reading an entry on Joni's Blog I noticed she said YAY ME and I got to thinking that we all have YAY ME moments when we do something good to help us on our weight loss path. So lets record these moments, when we don't give in to temptation or when we exercise when we would rather not. This will serve as a reminder to us of what we are acheiving and hopefully also motivate someone else.
An example:- When I started my fitness program my daughter and I were walking back from the shops 2,5km when a friend of hers stopped and gave her a lift. I had already walked 3km earlier that day but I choose to carry on walking instaed of catching a ride. YAY ME.
So what is your YAY ME moment. Please share.......
