with 3 days to go how is everyone doing? I have not done as well as I would have liked but I have still made progress. I will weigh on Wed night so I can give everyone an update on Thursday

Joni- How is your exercising streak going, the month must be complete now emoticon
Kris, I have been having the same except that our after hours business is the one keeping me busy so I can't even escape when I get home, seems to be calming down though, I really hope so cause going to bed everynight at 11 is starting to kill me

I did better eating today. Not exercising. I am so busy and so stessed at work this last week. It's driving me crazy.

WAY TO GO Joni, you are an inspiration to us all.
I have managed 5/7 days exercise for the last 3 weeks and drink my water consistently everyday.
WELCOME BACK Kris, sound like the trip was great. Just so you know the temp here was 39 degrees celcius yesterday. Not sure how to convert that to Farenheit, but it was HOT,

I have not missed a day working out since I started January 7, so I am almost at an entire month's streak! It's become more of a daily expectation instead of a chore like it was in the beginning.

Now I set myself up to meet the goal by working out BEFORE allowing myself to do something else that I want to do that day. Sometimes it's something as simple as eating breakfast. Others, it's a shower, or watching a TV show, or posting on the Sparkpeople boards.

But every day I pick something that I hold myself back on... and until I do my 30 minute workout, I can't do what I wanted. It's working quite well for me for motivation!

No one can make you feel any particular way, good or bad........ unless you let them.

Back from Mexico! We had a great time. Ate and drank way too much. But we did get mega exercise. Climbed ruins, walked all over the place, swam, road bikes. It was so nice to be in warm weather. -20 when we left Iowa and Mexico was in the 80's. 100 degree difference. I hated putting jeans back on.

I have been doing great with the exercise and the water. Food intake is a little more tricky but at least this has given me a focus

Hey, hope it's not too late to join in.

I have had a terrible time keeping up with exercising and eating right this week. This may just be the next kick start that I need.

I want to exercise 20 or more minute a day (cardio or strength ok)
Drink my 8 glasses of water

I am still refining my diet, but I would like to meet my calorie intake.

When I started SP, my diet was ALL WRONG. I ate no breakfast nor lunch and then, famished, eat everything I could find for dinner. This has been going on for years. If I could just stack the bulk of my calories before 2pm (my lunch is at a weird time), then have a very light dinner, I think I would improve my health/weighloss drastically.

My goal until Thinking Day is to devote 20 minutes of cardio on my off days. I will be exercising everyday. Today is my start day. I have done 60 min. I have started our GS meetings with stretches and yoga poses for the girls to pracyice respecting themselves and others.

Always be yourself -because the people who mind don't matter, and the people who matter don't mind. :)

Good for you!!!! Yeah! This is just a crummy week. So much to do. We are getting ready to go to Mexico and I want to be around to see the kids. I wanted to get in a couple more tanning sessions so I don't fry down there. But not getting anything done. I plan on doing a lot of walking in Mexico. And swimming.

Good News I have lost 1,8kg emoticon My tracker is moving at last.
ok so it is not a lot but my eating is not really on track at the moment so I am stoked.
Managed to run for 3x 1 minute intervals this morning on my walk, that felt really good

Please don't get me wrong South Africa is the most beautiful country but stuff like this is so frustrating. Now they are saying we may lose the soccer World Cup in 2010 if the problem cannot be sorted out and fast. Imagine the revenue we would lose if this happens.
Well I am almost ready to go home so have a great day and evening and keep Sparking.

The powers that be in this delightful country have been shutting down power stations instead of repairing them so now there is not enough power to go around. So everyday we have no electricity for 2-2.5hrs at a time. there is a schedule which is not always stuck to. When power is restored the power surges causing things like TVs computers etc to blow. On Monday night in Capetown the cable cars taking people up and down stopped and the Mountain rescue people had to be called in to get the people out. They had to climb out of the top of the car and onto the docking bay, the car near the bottom was too far from the docking station and people had to abseil the 4m drop. about 900 people were stuck ontop of the mountain until the generators could kick in and the cars could be reset. And this is one of our biggest tourist attractions. Way to go SA.
My problem is I run a small embroidery business from home in the evenings and having no electricity means no work which in turn means no money and so the vicious cycle continues. Thank goodness for computers or I would never have found Spark and all my new friends.
Thanks for letting me vent my frustration at least we have had our powercut for today so I should be able to cook supper tonight uninterupted.

No chance of fitting in any exercise tonight. Parents info evening for Emily at 5:15 and church at 7 so I doubt I will even get home before 8:30. Will have to get supper when I get home so really late night tonight, just hope there is no load shedding cause being without electricity is a major pain in the butt especialy when you are hungry and on a diet. No take out allowed

I got 30 minutes exercise in yesterday! I would have gone for 45, but my daughter was with me and was antsy.

Today I might not be able to do it. We bowl tonight and my son has a dr appointment. Oh well. It's on my agenda for Wednesday.

Last week was a crummy week. Strep throat. No exercise. Not much of anything. This weekend I had a baby shower I was hosting and a going away party and a GS event I was doing. Yikes. I don't have much this week. So will do my best. We leave for Mexico Friday!!! Yeah. I am sick of cold and snow.

My goodness where did this week go?

I can't believe that I haven't posted in here since Monday. I'm sorry ladies.

I did pretty well this week. I was within my calories all week until today lol. We get groceries on Fridays after work so we end up eating out. We went to Subway so it wasn't too bad. We went to the Y and walked a mile before we ate so we at least got a little exercise in. I didn't get to the Y on Monday and Tuesday but I have been there the rest of the week. I'm pretty proud of myself.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I didn't get any exercise in that was planned. Since I've been laying around all week I had a lot to do for this weekend. I am having a baby shower on Saturday and a Mother Daughter GS event on Sunday and am so busy with that. I did cut up glycerin for soap. My arms hurt today. 45 minutes of that last night and I have more to do tonight. So I did get in exercise, just not what I planned for.

Right now, mine is going to just be exercise. I am doing terrible in the food area. The harder I try the less I accomplish. I am going to focus on exercise. I know that I can do that and add goals as I go. I want to do 30 minutes at least 5 times a week. I've been sick all week so I haven't done anything since Friday. I'm ready to go!

I've challenged myself to workout EVERY day, for at least 30 minutes, to go along with the committment I made after reading "YOU: On A Diet."

So far I have done it for 8 days :)

Hi All
With just 6 weeks to go until Thinking Day I was thinking we should have a challenge from now until then. Is anyone else in. We can log in weekly and report on our progress. I am also committing to donate R10 for every kg I lose by Thinking Day to the Thinking Day fund.
I challenge myself to:-
1)Drink 8 glasses of water a day
2) Stict to my meal plan
3) exercise 5 out of 7 days a week
Please join me this will be both fun and motivating
