Angie- I can see how, with your lordosis, the shoes might help. Since mine is the opposite--I lack a lumbar curve totally--I'm thinking that might be my problem with them because my front-to-back balance is so off anyway. But I'm going to keep trying them in brief spurts, because I do feel the muscles working in my abs and working my abs is a major challenge.

I have the KMART Brand...30.00, got them on sale for 24.95. I absolutely LOVE THEM. Do they help you lose weight?? I seriously doubt that, but I bought them for heel pain and my spine pain. I can't rave enough about them. The kmart does tend to run smaller "i think". I have orthodics so I have to get a little bigger.

My heel pain went from 7/8 to a 3/4. Back pain with walking is reduced a few notches as well.

They look funny, but when your in pain, you don't much care. Least I don't :)

Hi, Steves6. I had my scoli corrected in high school. They fused in two rods, leaving me with less than 30 degrees in my curves. But the surgery left me with a condition called "flatback" where the normal inward curve in the lower part of the back is removed, causing other issues. I also have disc degenerative disease above and below the rods.

Hello, nuin64, how bad is your scoliosis? I have scoliosis, also crave of the spine. My spine curves out real bad. I am in my mid 50's now. I have to sit with my back leaning back on something.

So, has anyone tried the "fitness shoes?" MBT's are the oldest brand, but Sketchers has some and I just bought some nice lightweight Avias. I went for a walk today and came back with a backache. Time will tell if it's a "good" ache from muscle work, or a bad one from throwing my back out of whack. Anyone have experience with them?
