I am not a person that will try new products, a skeptic if you will. Having said that, if you know of some one that was helped by using one of the products you mentioned, you may want to try it, just to satisfy your own mind as if it would be worth it for you. I would get brave enough to try something I would check with my doctor first.

Hi Elaine - I had it tested earlier this year and it was just on the edge of being in the range where the doctors like it so my medication was not adjusted. I take Levothyroxine. Both my parents families have had thyroid problems and genetics passed it right along to me. Boo! Just seems like I'm getting to that age where my body is starting to show some wear and tear. Had x-rays of my back and they found osteoarthritis so that explains all the back pain. Now I have even more incentive to keep moving.

Max - Have you had your thyroid tested recently? Are you on medication to help your thyroid? My sister had a lot of thyroid problems and adjusting her medication helped for awhile until they just recently removed it.

I don't believe in "magic pills" but I do use Advocare products along with my healthy eating and exercising. They have a spark drink that I use instead of drinking coffee that is supposed to give you a little more energy without all the bad stuff. I also use their body cleanse at least twice a year.

I have a friend that swears by Isagenix but I have not jumped on that band wagon. For me, it is all about the eating. I use MyFitnessPal and that has helped me drop some good amount of weight. Logging my food and staying within my calorie range is what seems to work.

My answer to this would be that there is no quick fix, to changing your outlook on food. You have to go through the process of discovering that you want to eat healthier foods, that you want to exercise your body, and that it matters to you that you do this for the rest of your life.

Sure, you can find photos of beautiful models that "supposedly" took these magic pills and the weight came off. It is much better for you to rely on your mind, and your ability to become a new, better person, that cares about what you eat, and cares about making you as fit as you can be.

This process doesn't start in a day. Gaining weight isn't an instant process, neither is losing it. If you want to keep it off, you must change your mindset and KNOW you cannot go back to the way you were eating. Soon, you will realize that you CAN do this.

I guess I don't believe in the "magic" fix being offered with these products. So I don't purchase them. Healthy eating and living has worked the best for me.

Thanks for your response Sergeantmajor. I think nutrition is a big part of my issue. Having 2 special needs kiddos and a thyroid that isn't working has me tired so I'm not preparing all the nutrients we need. We eat spinach salad, lean meats and fresh veggies daily. The girls love going to the farmer's markets for fresh produce. I'm just lacking something. Not sure what - probably need to see the endocrinologist. I was curious about the Plexus because I had heard that others with thyroid/Hoshimoto's disease had more energy while using these products.

I am yet to be convinced that any over the counter "product" will jump start fat loss. While nutrition is 80% of a fat loss programme the other 20% is exercise with 15% of the exercise being some form of resistance training and only 5% cardio. Get on some form of resistance training programme even something as simply as a bodyweight programme and you will lose fat if your nutrition is good.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Eat well to lose weight, exercise to get fit

You can not build a six pack using twelve packs

I have friends that sell products from these 3 health and wellness companies: It Works, Plexus and Isagenix. Normally I would dismiss these products because I have lost weight in the past by just eating healthy, clean foods but now I need a little jumpstart. So I am wondering if anyone on the team has used products from any of these companies and if so, how did you like them? Thanks in advance.
