Lori, it's always good to hear from you. Teenager, eh? My sister doesn't want to be reminded her oldest is now in high school, and her youngest will be there in 2 yrs. LOL What colour are you doing your hair? Please wish your daughter strong thighs and accuracy for the Provincials. And that's the only advice Mrs. Gutterball is gonna offer!

It'll be nice when the snow finally drops down to less than a couple feet. DogFace keeps getting his yard lead stuck on hard icy snowballs. I've learned to bring work gloves when I get him unstuck, because that lead is G.R.O.S.S!!!

One more sleep and Wifey comes home!

Hey ladies

I'm still alive. Ha ha. Boss was out sick/ stress and I was going it alone. Thank god she is back this week. Holy cow I'm not sure how people with more than one kid does it. Obviously they rely a lot on other people as I know I sure have over the past few weeks. I have been burning the candle on both ends to get it all done and now I'm burnt out. A lot of things going on and I'm not dealing very well. I hate the burden of other people's problems. But I'm still pushing through. I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I look forward to the day that it shines bright enough for me to see.
In other news my kid is a now a teenager. Downstairs is all done and she is all settled in and her party was a success. She is now getting ready for provincials and I'm just looking forward to having a morning on my back deck to soak up some rays with a cup of tea. Still a little chilly for that yet but rest assured my furniture will be coming out this weekend. Hubby is off.
Well gotta run. I'm dying my hair before work and the clock is ticking.
Hopefully the bosses appointment went well yesterday and she is not put out on stress leave. Fingers crossed.

Have a great day.

Well, another day closer to the end of snow for the season. :)

How are you all doing? I know it's hard to get here sometimes, so it's good I poke you about it.

Apparently today is Jo day, and the radio station was giving away stuff to those whose name is Jo. I called up, and convinced them I'm JoJo, so I got 2 prizes!! It was funny!

Back to the grind. Our ticket queue is small today, which is really welcome. Summer Student Hiring Season is close, and we're going to get hit hard with requests in the next few weeks. Joy.

Do you know who else has the Spark? The Transformers! :-D

You had thunder & lightening?! Wow.... all we got was another couple centimetres of snow.

Saturday evening, the last of the big snow fell off the roof. We had just come back from visiting a friend, and had brought the dog back in after a quick pee, when we heard the big rumble of the snow as it slid off the tin roof. Freaked out the cats! When we looked at the amount of snow that fell, it was 10' from the bottom step, as wide as the roof, and filled in the steps to the 3rd one from the top. The next day, we started shoveling -- one on the stairs, and one at the bottom. We only cleared as wide as the stairs, and even that took us a good half hour.

Later today, my sister & I are going to Miramichi to visit Dad's doctor. We want to make sure we know what the doc is saying, and we want to make sure he knows what we know about Dad. I also need to help out more to get Dad's assessment done by Social Development. Dad has a new girlfriend, and they're talking about moving in together in the fall. Personally, I think it's a horrible idea. Dad doesn't seem to understand that when he gets angry at a person, he can be very aggressive and verbally abusive. He never used to be like this, so we are assuming his nervous breakdown (nearly 20 yrs ago) is what causes his moods and reactions. His new girlfriend has been widowed for just over a year, and he's already called her by a previous girlfriend's name. Yeah, that doesn't go over well, and neither my sister nor I really want him to be mean to anyone else.

Saturday night was Tequila Night with a friend. Oh, it was fun! We didn't drink that much, maybe a couple shots within a couple hours, but it was good to get out for a while.

I've got about an hour left before my workday is over -- and the drive to Miramichi starts.

Spark it hard!

Just a quickie today ----

Our new team member is on the Autism spectrum, very high functioning, but has some odd social skills. I just remembered I have a FB friend who works in that kind of environment. She has awesome ideas on how to help him integrate.

I worked on a request yesterday that was not what it seemed. The other half of the ticket came in today, and I have a mess to clean up. Fortunately, the user was really understanding.

WIFEY COMES HOME IN A COUPLE HOURS!!! I'm not excited or anything....

I've started discovering some Acadian music, and there's a lot out there that's Chiac -- half English and half French. They're fun!

Gotta run... need to fix up that mess. :-)

Spark it all night long!

Glenda, I'm glad you survived. My dentist had to work hard to gain my trust and keep her fingers. :)

I slept great the night before, but kinda crappy last night, but anxiety wasn't the issue. It's that Woman Over 40 bladder thing. :-)

I have a supper date with my previous co-worker in Housing. I haven't seen her since December, and I do miss her. 2 nights ago, I had a dream and she appeared in it, where she saw me and waved at me. I remember waving back, and when I woke up, I realized I'm supposed to reach out to her. Supper tonight, right after work. It'll be good to see her again.

I'm not sure if any of you are FB friends with Nate-Janine. In the last couple days, she and her family made the trek out to BC to see her parents and the rest of some of her family. From what I can gather, it's her dad's birthday, and someone (Nate, I think) recorded the walk in and the surprise, and then posted it on her feed. It was really heart-warming to watch. I guess when most of your family is in the Maritimes, you forget how far some people have to travel to visit family. I'm 2hrs away from my family, so I don't feel that kind of distance. But when I lived on Vancouver Island for a couple years, I often felt homesick, especially for French conversation.

So Glenda, all that to say you'll be fine out there. You'll be closer to your family, and you will appreciate that closeness. And if you'll be in a southern location, you'll be able to ditch the snow clothes! Lucky you.... :-)

Meeting time with the team. It's a good team, we look out for each other. They just don't what me to bring in Spark cookies. *snicker*

Glenda, how was the dentist? Was it major dental work or just a cleaning? I bring my own mp3 player, and after the needle has been in & out, I find my heavy bass playlist and try to tune out the metal sounds.

I totally understand your anxiety around leaving home. I've done it at least 5 times, including moving to Port Alberni, BC the first time. It's hard to take the Maritimer out of the Girl! I know you're excited, too.

I had an ergo assessment at work today. My setup is pretty good already, but I knew the height of the desktop was wrong. So it will be RAISED (?!?) by 1.5". That's the first time I've ever had a desk raised for me! I'm hoping for later this week or early next.

Hey, what's that great big yellow ball in the sky? Oh! it's the sun, and it's here to help us Spark it up! :-D

Jo, yes the countdown is on... I am having lots of emotions over this... excitement, anxiety over leaving my home province, anticipation etc..... I leave the 26th of April... emoticon
I am trying to decide what to pack in my suitcase.... lol...

Tomorrow morning I have an eight oíclock appt with my dentist... Not so much looking forward to that... but it is what it is... I am strong and I will get through this(I keep telling myself anyway).. I have anxiety over the intrusion into my personal space... funny eh? I just have to picture myself as being somewhere else when I am in that chair... I try to watch the TV but the DR is always right in my line of vision so I just close my eyes and listen to it instead... lol...

So now that I have gotten that off my chest I will bid all a good Sparkly night tonight and all the best at Keeping The Spark tomorrow...

Hugs emoticon

Mexico was so much fun, and so relaxing! Now, once I get my training to become a Travel Consultant with Expedia (part time), I'm planning our next trip.

Glenda, your move day is coming soon, isn't it? April?

I just saw someone signed up for our team, and posted a hello. I'm not going to lie, I barely made it in here today to post! Could someone reach out to that person and welcome him/her to the group?

The snow is finally starting to come down! The back yard now has 4 1/2 ft of snow, instead of 6. Mind you, I fired up the pellet stove to get some of the snow on the roof to slide off easier. I didn't get to it soon enough on Saturday, but it's looking better.

Have an awesome day!!

The pooch and I managed a thirty min walk on one of the trails today. Yay..... It was a little icy in spots and there were some big puddles but hey we did it!!! Woo Hoo!!!

It was a busy day in general. I had a car appt this morning, and Marty had a check up this afternoon and in between I did some banking and we got our walk in.

It is raining here now so I wonít be going out much more this evening and the pooch will be making quick trips out. He doesnít like the rain...

Hoping I get to meet some family for lunch tomorrow. It will be nice to have a treat meal. I get tired of cooking for myself sometimes.

Well have a good evening peeps...

Hugs..

Jo, sounds like you and wifey had an awesome time. I envy you the horseback riding... but not the sore bum.... lol... The Tylenol I took was in tablet form... never again..... just sayiní...

It was a beautiful day here. I spent some time walking out around the yard. Most of the ice is gone.... Yay..... Unfortunately the trails still have a lot on them...but I think the upcoming weather will take care of a lot of that.

My countdown is getting closer... and I am getting very anxious. I still have things to do but I am getting there...

Well peeps tomorrow is another busy day for me, car appt, pooch appt, banking etc., so I will say goodnight for now...

Hugs

Hey Peeps!

Mexico was so AWESOME this time around! Wifey decided we weren't sitting around the pool and beach all week, so we had 5 days of activities. Horseback riding (owie bum bones!), sailing and snorkeling, visiting Chichen Itza (the only ruins we visited this time), an evening at the Travellers' Table, shopping at the silver jewelry and the tequila shop next door. My hips didn't have a chance to get really sore, and there was some good walking and swimming. I weighed in yesterday, and I am the same as I was just before we left. Oh, and I actually have a tan!

Generally, Tylenol can be taken on an empty stomach. That said, this year was the first time it didn't sit well on an empty stomach for me, and it's happened more than once when my stomach was already upset. Did you take a tablet or a capsule? If it's a capsule, it won't break down until it's in the intestines, and not in the stomach. (Wifey learned that last month.) Every time I've brought up the Tylenol, it's been a tablet. I need to pick up some capsules, too.

Holy cow! I started this at 9am this morning, and that's all I've written! I really want to get better at posting....

Hey Glenda. I recently was having issues with a tooth as well but because it was a wisdom tooth with short roots they had to pull it instead. No fun. And I never take meds on an empty stomach. Even if it's just some crackers or toast, I have to have something in there. I have a sensitive belly.

Yesterday I parked a little farther from work. The sidewalks are mostly clear, a few spots to watch for but it was nice with the sun beating on my face but the air still cool. Perfect walking weather. Too bad I couldn't have went further... I wanted to though. Spring is definitely in the air!!

So downstairs Reno is complete and I'm doing my final move. All my kids stuff is in place and now I'm trying to get all the bedroom stuff from downstairs moved upstairs as the room is painted and ready to go. Then birthday party this weekend. I can't believe my baby will be 13 on Sunday. It's crazy!!

Well hope everyone is doing well. Spark on my lovelies.

It was so nice to have it a little warmer out today. Still a lot of ice around here though. I have to be careful out walking.

My face is still bothering me. Thank goodness I have an appointment Thursday. I donít know whatís going on but I hope it gets fixed soon. I was quite sick Saturday night. I took a Tylenol 3 and it did not agree with me.. It made me sick to my stomach and I had a lot of pain. I should have taken it with some food but I didnít and as a result it made me quite sick. I wonít do that again! Live and learn, eh?

How are you Sparkies doing?

Hugs

Well I got the first phase of my root canal done this morning. I go back next week to have it finished. My jaw is kinda of sore tonight. I guess itís cause of keeping my mouth open for so long.

I hope we soon start getting some warmer weather. Those icy winds are no fun. The walking trails are a mess too. Lots of ice.

Hope all my buds are doing awesome...

Hugs...

Thanks so much jo for keeping the forum going.
I started a notebook to journal in just something else to help keep me accountable. I had made a commitment to myself to log into spark everyday no matter what. Then suddenly it's 1100 at night and I'm ready for bed after a long day of painting and I realized it was the second of March and my kid say " soon I'll be able to say that it's only 2 more weeks till my birthday and I'll be a teenager" and my 2 thoughts were omg I'm going to have a 13 year old in the house and then omg I didn't log into spark. emoticon
The bedroom downstairs is the last room in the house to be done and the kid is moving into that room when it's done. I have been prepping for the work for the past few weeks purging and making room. I'll be glad when it's all done.
I struggled this week with getting workouts done. But I figure with al the lifting that happen this week my body got S tenth trains instead. My boss broke her toe so had to go it alone this week so receiving 3 days this week was hard but I got thought it. Now this week I can shift my focus back onto my journey. Got to take my life back.
Have a great day ladies. My workout today awaits me outside with all the snow that fell. Ha ha
Have a great day.

Y'know how you go, "gee, what day are we anyway?", and you realize it's a new month?

Yep.

Creating this new thread was my first reaction to the new month.
