Less than 2 hours before my vacation starts!!

I have a package at the postal outlet, and it contains, among other wonderful things from Amazon, a new BRA!! I really need it for this trip!

I got tuna for the cats, and I need to pick up their crunchits so they'll have enough for the week. A neighbour is coming over daily to check on them.

And I have a TON of printing to do before we go! Things like the tickets, travel insurance documents, all the confirmation numbers, and a document for Dad. He needs his T4's reissued because he doesn't know which address Service Canada has for him.

My sister is at the Canada Game, coaching the trampoline gymnasts. She returns Monday, so I'm hoping Dad will wait until her return to get this sorted out.

I think I worked on 3 tickets today so far. That might be my limit. *chuckle*

Spark the Weekend!!

Well now... Hip Pain seems to be a common theme among us. I know Shirley has had foot issues, and often, foot pain and hip pain are related. I've always known I have arches that flatten when I stand, but it wasn't until I hurt my hip that I got orthotics. My feet can't live without them now, and neither can my hips. Some people prefer other types of therapy, but if your step isn't balanced, neither are your hips.

I'm off to pick up the US$$$ for Mexico!

Man is sure is cold these days!! That wind is awful!! I am making sure to cover my face before I go out.

Jo, I sure wish I was going somewhere warmer and I wouldnít mind having a mimosa either...lol... I will get those on my trip in a couple of months....

Lori, I get hip pain too. I toss and turn most of the night. I canít get comfortable for long. Unfortunately I also have trouble taking meds as well. Oh the joy!!!

Today was a good day to make roast beef and veggies for supper. It sure hit the spot!

Still sparking...

Hugs

Lori, I hear you about hip pain! My first suggestion is to get your feet checked out. All my bone body aches are usually related to my feet, and the lack of support my arches are getting. I'm not sure if I'll have time to call Blue Cross before we leave for Mexico, but I could really use another pair. And if you're taking pain meds and your stomach has had enough of Advil/Motrin/Aleve, switch to Tylenol for several days in a row. My hip pain is finally backing off!

I bought a pair of Naot sandals. They have an awesome insole, and the best part, it can be removed!! I put my own in, and the sandal felt awesome! I'm really happy I found a really good pair of sandals that will last me several years. For $200, they better last!

With the blowing snow we've had for the last 2 days, I couldn't get to my garbage box at the road. I highly doubt the garbage man will even try to open it. That's ok, as long as it's frozen, it shouldn't stink. :-)

Oh! and the pharmacy just called, my new compression socks are in. This trip planning is going pretty well!

Hang on to that Spark as the Wind blows!

Thanks Jo. It took me a few tries but it was worth the effort. I can totally relate on the pain level. Since the fall my body has been feeling worst bit by bit. I have pain in my hips every night when I go to bed. I'm living off pain meds right now. Got to get back to physio and trying to get back at this weight loss. Sigh!!! My struggle is harder this time but I'm not giving up. Not sure where to fit my workouts in when I work everyday till 5. I'm not getting away from the supper table till 7 at night.
Anyway I'm sure you can give up the smokes while you're away. Sure wish I was going somewhere warm. I guess my tub is where I'll get it. Lol

Congrats Glenda. That's awesome!!! 18 years is a long time!!!

Well got to get going to work. Have a great day.

Hi gang,

Checking in, since I've done a poor job of doing it most of the month. ;-)

This time next week, I'll be in Riviera Maya, waking up in a king size bed with Wifey next to me, and debating whether we are having a mimosa with breakfast or not. I'm excited!! I am emailing our banking officer this morning with our USD order. I called her last night, and she confirmed they have lots of $1, which is the main denomination we use for tips. Finally some HEAT!!

So, the next time I whine about a sore hip, could someone remind me to check my insoles?? I am calling Blue Cross today to find out if I can get another pair of insoles covered at 80%. I could really use one more pair, since my arch has dropped a little more in the last couple years. I've been wearing the newest ones, and my hip pain is backing off. I'm also off Naproxen. It's too hard on my stomach, along with the other 2 meds I take with food. So the Rx is now 4 extra strength Tylenol a day for 2 weeks, to see if it helps with the pain levels. I never knew how difficult it was to manage pain later in life. At least I have my humour and grateful spirit to get me through it. :-D

Lori & Glenda, congrats on quitting the death sticks so long ago! Unfortunately, I've picked it up again after last summer when Wifey started up during exams. One week in Mexico can set me straight again, because I won't smoke while we're there. And I am NOT smoking American smokes! Man, those are nasty!!

It's time to return to work and serve the GNB employees for another day.

If your Spark froze, get moving to heat it up!! :-D

Hey Lori, nice to see your post. 20 yrs in April no smokes.. that is awesome... It will be 18 for me in Dec. I am so glad I quit when I did. The health benefits and the money saved are so worth it.

Today I had to go to the dentist as my face wouldnít stop aching. It turns out that I need a root canal. Oh the joy! So I am on antibiotics for ten days . emoticon

I am hoping to get somethings repacked tomorrow, I havenít felt like doing much in the past few days. Maybe my meds will have kicked in by then..

Well I am soon heading to bed so I hope you peeps have a good night.

Hugs

God morning peeps. Just popping in before heading out to work. I'm obviously still struggling as I can't even muster it up to post her every day. I wish I could just get back into the swing of things. Why must it be so difficult. Really it just boils down to getting the clothes on and getting it done. I'm so disappointed in myself. In April it will be 20 years since I quite smoking, it's crazy to think I was able to do that but taking care of myself and eating properly is still a struggle.
Well I'm hoping on Sunday with a bit of prep on the agenda I'll get off to a good start. Tomorrow is my best friends daughters birthday and we will spend the night out there. I will have a few drinks and then tomorrow is shopping day. I plan on having a salad for lunch and then Sunday is the first day of getting back at it. I have to do this!!!! I know I can.... Just got to get at it!!
Have a great day y'all.

Oh and Jo, I love the working hands lotion. That and lanolin( mothers use it for cracked nipples) it more like a thick wax so you would use it at bedtime. It works great.

My sinuses have been acting up the past couple of days. It has been a while since I had any problems with them but the weather plays havoc with them.

I did go out to lunch today. My sil and I went to Swiss Chalet. It was really good. Very tasty and not overly salty.

I worked again this morning and I will probably go in on Friday if the weather permits.

Well I am heading to bed and hopefully I can get some sleep.

Have a good night peeps and an awesome day tomorrow...

Hugs

Just another quickie, since it's way past quitting time!

Does anyone else have issues with dry skin in the winter? Or worse, static electricity? How do you deal with them? My hands are starting to get rough around the fingertips, and I'm using lotion as soon as I notice things are dry, but it's not working very well.

Tips, tricks and laughs are requested! :-D

Ok, that's cold. Mother Nature, do you need a Midol? I still have some left....

Just a quick check-in. I tried to get in here earlier and post, but I let work take precedence. Yeah, I want to work on that. :-)

Treadmills and climbers.... last Friday, I was really sore, but decided to try a workout. I got as far as the warm-up and half a mile in, and I had to give it up. I couldn't continue, my hips hurt that much. Today was MUCH better! JoJo tip of the day: Protect your Pelvis!!

The weekend was good, and Valentine's was better! Wifey's class did extra on Thursday so they would get Friday off as well. She called me from the end of our road, asking me what's for supper. I mumbled "nothing yet", then she said "You guys sure got a lot of snow here." Ok, how the heck are you seeing this?! Then she pulled into the driveway. It was really nice to have her for an extra day.

Thaw out that Spark if it froze!

Today I did some repacking. I wish I would have packed it properly in the first place but alas it wasnít to be.
The weather was pretty good today. There is still some ice around so I had to watch my steps outside. Speaking of watching, yesterday I watched a coyote following a deer. I was looking out the kitchen window and couldnít believe my eyes. The coyote was quite large no doubt the result of crossbreeding.
Since I have been here I have seen a fair amount of wildlife and at quite close range. Of course I never have my camera handy.
Well I hope you peeps are having a good weekend.

RClyke- Glad yesterday was a good day for you. I hope you got out again today. I was working today and didnít get out for a good walk, just a couple of short ones.

Hey peeps. Just checking in before bed. My shift got cancelled at work yesterday so I was able to get my treadmill and bike put back into place and hopped on each of them. Boy oh boy, am I sore today. Sooo out of shape and this weight I got put back on is weighing me down emoticon Full steam ahead.

Glenda I sure do hear ya on those carbs. They are my downfall. Well who am I kidding... Food is my downfall. Especially if it's sweet.

Anyway it felt good to be on the treadmill even if it was a lot than the last time I was on there.
Hope I can get my mojo going and get back into the swing of it all. The wedding is in 5 months and I'd love to lose 25 pounds which I know is totally achievable if I can get back on track and refocused.

Well time to call it a night. Good night peeps.

We had snow and then freezing rain. Oh winter!!!

I went into my old job today. My old boss needed some help with the books as the girl who replaced me quit. No notice, just quit. Oh people, why do you things like that? It is so unprofessional. I will go in again tomorrow for a couple of hours. So much for being retired.

I got my hair cut after work. So far I am liking the shorter look. It is so much easier to take care of.

Howís the reaching Jan goals going Peeps? I am still fighting to keep my carbs under control. I think this will be a forever battle for me. It is so easy to let them get out of control.

Well peeps I am off to my nest again. Sleep tight and donít let the bed bugs bite.

Am I the only one who got like 8 feet of snow yesterday? No? maybe it was only 2 feet that I got. ;-)

Yesterday's storm took the city buses off the road during the worst of it. I called in Snowmaggeddon, It didn't look so bad to go in, but by 10am, that storm was in full swing, and the plow had already gone by. We didn't get any freezing rain, it was all snow. Thank you Mr. Plow for getting the dooryard finished up before I went to bed. :-)

I shoveled a little bit yesterday, more like shoveling off the steps. I'm a little sore today, but my hip was sore before that. My massage therapy appointment has been rescheduled to today at 1:30, so I'm hoping I'll feel better.

If the massage goes well today, I'm going to stop taking the Naproxen, and let the doctor know that Tecta is not cutting it. My tummy feels yucky at the best of times, and most evenings, I have to "puff" in order to feel hungry enough to eat supper. Naproxen is a 2nd drug that I'm taking that's hard on the stomach, so I may need something stronger or different. I'm looking dreamily at the Tylenol.....

If you got freezing rain last night, please be careful today. Our roads are still snow-packed, despite the plow drivers' efforts.

Find that little Spark under all that snow! It's there! Really, it is! :-D

I hope all you Sparkies are getting ready for some more nasty weather tonight and tomorrow.
I am not looking forward to more freezing rain.
I am going to make sure I have my phone charged up. Just in case. We are expecting some wind with this storm as well so you never know... right? Better to be prepared.
Tonightís supper was a turkey omelet and veggies. It hit the spot!
Jo, glad you got some new sneaks girl. The feet have to be comfy. I bought some new slippers for on the train.
I am off to bed now. Been a long day.
Keep the spark my peeps...

Hey my favourite Sparkly Sparkers!

Lori, it's GREAT to see you again. I know how it is with time management, I still have to work on getting here once a day.

Glenda, I hear you about Marty! With 6 cats in the house, I have an under-the-bed clothing container (with wheels) for a kitty litter box, and I'm sure DogFace has looked at it longingly. Now that he has radial/sciatic nerve pain down his left front paw, he's not always willing to go down the stairs outside. Sometimes I have to let him figure out how to move to not hurt the leg.

It was a rather uneventful weekend. Wifey studied, then worked Saturday evening, and was home on Sunday till we headed for the mall. I really needed new sneakers, and I bought 2 pairs for under $130 taxes in at Source for Sports. They have a lot of sneakers on sale, and the ones I wanted were on for half price. That's awesome! I wore one pair at home last night, to break them in a bit, but they need NO breaking in at all! I wore them to the gym today, and I happily noticed my hips didn't hurt quite as much. They always hurt, but the new sneakers have more cushion, which makes my bones happy. :)

Time to wrap up my work day.

When you Spark it, Keep it REAL! :-D

Lori darliní so happy to see you post. Missed you girl. Miss that gingycat too. We really need to get together. Time goes so quickly before you know it I will be on the train. emoticon

It is so cold out there you really need your woollies on. I am not venturing too far in this. I have been out a few times with Marty but they are quick outings.... I wish he knew how to use the throne...lol...

Had some left over stir fry for supper tonight. It is always better the next day.

All you peeps have a good evening and keep the spark.... Hugs...

Hello peeps.
So glad to see you guys sparking along. I had some catching up to do. I've spent the past hour reading through the old posts. A lot has changed in the last while. I'm so off track and out of the loop. I'm finding it hard since being back to work with close to full time hours. I've lost my way for sure. I've been on here a few times and spent time writing out a post only to have me get booted off and the post disappears. Nothing more aggravating since it's an effort just to come on. Anyway!!
Glenda we have to get together before your big move. How exciting for you. I'm so happy for you. Xo hugs and Jo I see you are back at your old job as well. Hope things are going well there with you now. RClyde you are pretty active here. I hope you are enjoying your journey.

Well I'm off to do the housework. Got to make hay while the sun shines as they say.

Have a great day. Hugs. Xo

RClyke, I leave the end of April... Not that far away.. So exciting and a little sad as well. I will miss my trails and beaches here. This is where I grew up, but I will find new places to enjoy. It will be such an adventure.

That wind today was very, very cold. My pooch did not want to go very far on our walks today. Me neither...lol...

This evenings supper was a turkey stir fry. That warmed the belly I tell ya... Now I want to take a nap.. Want to, not going to. If I did that I would not sleep tonight.

So I guess I will work on sorting through some stuff here.

Have a good night my peeps... Hugs..

The temp is going to drop this evening. Be careful out there ladies. Tomorrow morning will probably be icy again.

Yes Jo, I had my duckie spikes on today... lol...

I was supposed to meet a friend for lunch today, but we cancelled. We will reschedule maybe for sometime next week.

Keeping my carbs under control this week.

Live dangerously -- don't put snow tires on when living on the East Coast.

Ok, I made it to work, and made it to here. I want to work harder on making time for the important things, like posting here. It's tough, but I'm still trying.

4WD and a slower drive in got me to work on time. The roads were more slushy in most spots, and it should be turning to rain anytime now. Wifey is still in Moncton, today's test is delayed till 1pm.

Today is Strength day, since I forgot it on Wednesday.

Wear the Studded Duck Boots today!

Ooh, look! Warm weather! YAYY.... oh wait.. that means precipitation. *sigh*

Morning Peeps!

Not much new going on here, just the same ol' same ol'.

Glenda, your day is coming. Are you riding coach or getting a berth?

I'm heading out shortly for lunch with some former co-workers. I know they have salads, but I'm hoping they have an exciting salad, like the Little Hippie Salad at another location.

Did I mention our trip to Mexico is booked? I need me some serious sun.

Spark it all time!

I am so glad you got this girl.... I actually forgot it was February...lol...

For this month I am going to keep a closer rein on my carbs... It is so easy to let them get out of hand.

I picked up my tickets for my trip today. I am soooo excited.. I wish I could have gone today. So close to the train... I actually envied the people getting onboard today. Sad but true..

Well off to see what I can rustle up for supper. I think itís an omelet night, with a few veggies on the side.

Have an awesome evening peeps...

Hugs

Oh man... I can't believe I didn't clue in until just now that we didn't have a February thread.

Let's make this a FABULOUS February and Spark it!
