Shirley I know what you are going through. It's not easy to get through the work day let alone put up with crap. So sorry my friend . I hope you had a better day today.

I am glad Halloween is over. I made it through unscathed. No treats here...

Thanks Jo yes it was a terrible day and no words today ... I work put my earplugs and listen to music to try to tune them out and all the noise :((

I passed on the work pizza party / donuts and treats ... I got salad and ate snacks I prepare and bring / much easier than not having food and giving in !

I’m heading to have a hot shower to wash off the stress

Happy Halloween !!

Wow tomorrow is November !!!!

Oh Shirley! How awful! I know what it's like to be in an office where bosses have inferiority/superiority complexes, and it's just not fun. You're right.... it's time to focus on your business.

How are the rest of you? Have you stayed out of the treats for today?

Me? Nope. We had a 1hr break for Hallowe'en, which included several types of cookies, my personal weakness, along with other sweets and salties. I did ok with the sugar, and the cookies were really rich, so I barely finished the one I had. A few Doritos, and I was good to go. When it came to lunch, I couldn't eat until 2:30, and I'm so thankful it was salad!

The Spark is Spook-tacular!

Hey team... please tell me the day is done :(

One of the toughest work days ... if I had the $$ I’d probably would have left work and not returned.

Guess it’s time I truly focus on building up my business ... tired of bosses with control issues and being treated like a dirty door mat :(

Here’s hoping you all had a Sparky Day

Hi gang!

Just a quickie since I'm leaving for the day.

Shirley, good for you! At least the cans of pop are in another room, so I'm not tempted often either.

Not much on the go today again. Submitted my vacation days for Christmas holidays, and even had time to finish my performance evaluation. Yep, it's that slow right now. And it feels so WEIRD!

Make your Spark shine, even at night. :)

Hidey-Ho there Neighbours! :-D

Although I didn't track nutrition this weekend, I did manage to eat less than I normally do, and the scales this morning showed it. I'm still working on the weekend eating, and here's hoping it keeps getting better.

Work today is a crawl. Or slower. I have 2 little things on my list of accomplishments for today. That's it. Now, as soon as my testing account is unlocked, I could go do stuff. But for the moment, I'm waiting on (wait for it....) a man. *ugh!* ;-)

Our new dishwasher arrived on Saturday. I still need to call the installation company, but at least it's in the house. I had to keep the box for it, so the unit would be covered up until it was installed -- otherwise, the cats will get into the insulation around the unit.

I'm hoping to have enough energy tonight to do some clearing out after regular evening chores. I saw some stuff that I can heave out the door soon, and I want to get to that sooner rather than later. I feel like procrastination is my middle name, so I'm working on getting past that.

Glenda, would you mind sharing the MLS number for your house? I'm just nosey. 8-)

Shirley, you're not giving anything out for Hallowe'en?

Lori, I wish that bug leaves you for good soon!

Normally, I would waste a chunk of my evening with games on the tablet. Last night, I decided to work on my cross-stitch project. I actually felt better for not being on the tablet. I'm working at that, one day at a time.

And on that note, it's time to shuffle on.... :-D

October is nearly done, and the ground still has 3" of snow. Mother Nature, did you take your Midol this week??

Well, I finally made it to bed before 1030 last night. I need to work on that more often.

Shirley, I read on one of the travel sites that they now catering to the Singles, and it had several options for vacations -- with other singles. If you are interested, a travel agent can guide you.

I will have winter tires put on Nov 5. That was the earliest they could get me in. I also need an alignment, especially since I live on a dirt road. Here's hoping there are no big storms between now and then.

Have you started planning what to give out for Hallowe'en? I bought cans of pop, since so few kids stop by.

Rock this Friday!

Snow Snow Snow... LOVE it on lol Got my snow tires on last weekend :)))

Jo - good for you guys for booking a trip away.. I can't remember the last time I had a trip away or much time away from work... I need to work on finding a travel partner... not much fun going solo. I was talking to a girl at Trivia and we talked about going to Italy.. not sure if she can afford a trip like that . but a great thought and a place I would love to see.

Working on tons of meal planning and tracking... work is beyond nuts.. but what's new.

How is everyone else doing... can you believe October is about done !!

Happy Thursday all xoxo

Hello Sparkers!

Yes, Shirley, there is snow in Fredericton. *sigh* 4" at home on the way in this morning, and I was driving in 4WD, since I don't have snow tires on yet. I didn't hear of a lot of accidents, so I'm hoping everyone is trying to drive slower today.

Glenda, heated seats are AWESOME!! My truck doesn't have them, but Wifey's car does. *jealous*

Wow... this slow time in Housing sure feels weird! I'm so used to be go-go-go! that when it's slow, I struggle to stay awake in the afternoons. Like now.

Wifey & I decided to do a trip down south in March, during her March Break. It's the only time we can manage to get away and that it wouldn't affect her schoolwork too much. And it'll be our Christmas & Anniversary gifts to each other. (Student in house = poor people in house).

Time for a break.... and visit the tablet repair store next door. I would rather pay these guys to buy a battery for me than to go through Amazon and have no one locally benefit from my purchase.

Spark that Stuff!!

Loving my new ride. The heated seats are so nice on my back.

No news on my house yet. It looks like I will be spending another winter here. I really do love my house I am just tired of the work. If only I was younger and had lots of money. It's nice to dream right?

This evening after supper I raked my back yard and bagged the leaves. So far I have fourteen bags ready to go with lots more leaves to fall yet. It is great exercise though.

Sparking every day peeps...

Happy Monday!

Ok, so I dragged my chunky butt out of bed this morning instead of jumping out. It'll get better.

Today is a slow day at work, so I've been doing online searches for me. Tomorrow looks slow too. Because it's slow, I am taking advantage of the time and seeing if we can plan a trip south for Christmas. It doesn't look good at the moment, so the trip may be during March Break. We can't simply pick up & go with Wifey's classes.

Toddylicious (my best male friend) is heading home to Grand Falls later today. His father has been in & out of the hospital since he had a heart attack about a month ago, and he was readmitted this afternoon for internal bleeding. He's not doing well at all. His mother is not taking this well at all, mainly because she has dementia that is now too difficult to manage at home. So he heads up after work today. I would be honestly surprised if his father survives the month, and Toddy is taking this hard, understandably.

Tonight, I'm going to stop by Walmart to pick up a pair of sneakers for home. I'm hoping for $50 or less. Either that, or I'll do it tomorrow and get my produce tonight at Sobeys. I haven't decided yet. :-D I'm only making one trip tonight, not 2.

The weekend was good, but not nearly long enough. We've been thinking about going away for the holidays, but it's not looking good. We may have to delay until March Break, when she has the week off.

I'm off to figure out why we can't get sound out of the speakers from the laptop we use at lunchtime for working out.

Keep it Sparkin'!

Friday, I had no idea how much I loved you until you weren't here.... :-)

Good morning Sparkers!

@GINGYCAT40, Shirley, now that it's legal, you know you could have a little puff-puff or buy some oil and make really small cookies to have one before bed.... :-D Seriously, though, the cookie (or something else baked) works very well for good longer sleep. I have never tried melatonin (is that the one for nighttime?), but the right mix of THC and CBD in a cookie or hot chocolate will put me out cold for several hours.

Today is a slow day, so I'm going to work on some analysis. There is one region that struggles mightily with getting addresses correct, so I'll be doing another training session with them in a few weeks. Now I need to figure out WHY they struggle, and come up with ideas to help them.

Oooh! A meeting in 15 mins! Something exciting to do! LOL

Have an awesome Friday!!

Hey Sparkers!

Yesterday, I heard from the employees in Campbellton that there was white all over the place, and it was sticking. emoticon Fredericton is expected to get some flurries this afternoon. I'm not ready for this!!!

Since last week, I've been thinking a lot about my grief process, because I seem to not want to do ANYthing when I get home. I don't usually get this way until end of February, so I know it's grief. There have been a small handful of things I wanted to get done before Wifey comes home Friday -- I've gotten only one done. So when I get home today, I'm going to try changing things up a bit, like having supper at a different time, so I have more time to do stuff before Wifey calls tonight. I'd be really happy if I could change the bedsheets and set up the (new) bedroom fan tonight, on top of the regular chores. And for the record, I hate doing the cat litter box. I'm sure with one cat, it isn't so bad, but with 6, it's a nightly chore that takes no less than 10 minutes -- because the litter box is a large under-the-bed container. Trust me, I need the wheels! Between that, and making supper and making sure the animals have food too, I often feel like I have nothing else to give. I've been talking about making a schedule, and I think now is a good time to come up with one. And being a perfectionist (sigh), I have to remember that this plan changes weekly, and that it's ok if it has to change at the last minute.

I have a massage this afternoon, in about an hour, so I'm wrapping up my workday early.

If we throw some Spark on the snow, does it become Sparkly? :-)

Morning team!

Quiet here this morning after a night of wind and rain. I didn't find the wind bad but most people here in Corner Brook thought it was really bad. I come from the Wreakhouse wind area, if you haven't heard of this before you should google it. It's famous for flipping a locomotive off the railroad tracks back in the day. And it's getting progressively worse as time goes by. One time 120 km per hour winds were considered horrendous, but now they clock at 160 to 180 km per hour.

Zumba tonight! Seems this is the only exercise I can talk myself into right now so I will go with it! Hoping that we get enough to have the class but it's hard because there isn't a lot in the community that goes.

Anyway that's my two cents for this morning! Loves ya all!

Hi everyone,

Ok, now that all that training is done, and we've got a few weeks at least before going Live with the new phase, I can concentrate on a healthy lifestyle again. Not working out for 5 weeks gave my hips a chance to recover, but it didn't help the sciatic pain. So now I'm back to the workouts, back to tracking nutrition, and back to taking the bus to work. I actually missed that part.

It sounds like you are all leading super busy and active lives! Do you realize that we are among the lucky ones who can stay active while the busy life pushes us along?? :-D

On Friday, I decided not to have a drink, although I debated it for several hours. It was never my thing, and that's not really how I want to commemorate My Guy. So I did stuff around the house instead, and just took the time to think of him and remember the good times. Thursday was actually worse, and I shouldn't have come in that day. I have noticed that the 11th is the day I have a hard time with, and when the 12th rolls around, I'm not nearly as emotional. Why? Because he actually died on the 11th, but was pronounced dead on the 12th. I need to remember that so I can plan for grief days.

Back to spreadsheets and emails. :-D

Hey ladies. What a very pleasant surprise to see you all here. Yaaaay!!!! emoticon
@JLDACQ hugs you my darling. I could not imagine dealing with that type of loss. Do what you got to do to get through it. We all need a good drunk once in awhile. Have a drink in his honour.

@GLENDA2017 sounds like you have a lot going on there girl. Good luck on selling your place and I hope your vehicle don't run you into the ground sort a speak. So proud that you can stay on track and not totally do a nose dive. That right there us what winners are made of. Good fir you girlfriend. Xoxo

@SMUISE turkey at the cabin sounds sooooo perfect!!! I can almost smell it in that fresh country air. Mmmmm and talk about being off track... It happens to the best of us but you have what it takes to find your way back.... And having that sweet little pooch but be helping right?? I mean he does need to be walked emoticon And good luck with the tires. I had to get new ones last year. Can you guess what we gave each other for Xmas last year. Lol

@GINGYCAT40 girl I don't know where you get your energy. You don't stop. You are like the energizer bunny. And can I just point out your pure stubbornness. Who buys a pizza for their kid, delivers it.... And doesn't even have a piece.... Holy cow girl I would have been face first into that box. Great job... GREAT JOB!!! so proud!! Xo

So I have been down for the count since Thursday. I came home from work feeling blah.. I took Rebecca to bowling and by the time it was over I didn't have it in me to even eat supper. I could feel the pressure in my head mounting but nothing could have prepared me for what was coming. I had forgotten just how bad my migraines could get. I was like a fish out of water. I tried all of the tricks I have, nothing was working. And the only thing that would help me, which never EVER worked for me before was laying in the tub. Normally I sit in the shower, we installed a stand up shower with a built in seat just for me, for times like this... I'm a shower girl, my husband is the one who lays in the tub, which is why we installed a soaker tub for him. We both needed something different to deal with our migraines... But this time his trick is what gave me the mist relief... Albeit only temporary. I was in the tub 4 times Friday night... Four!!! It was by far the worst I have been in almost twenty years. Yesterday was the first time I could stomach the thoughts of eating anything. It's been a rough few days to say the least. I'm so sore from the coughing of this cold and being sick to my stomach, I feel like I've done a serious workout with too many crunches..... Too bad I never count the times... I could have track it as so... Ha ha just kidding. Anyway, I'm hoping today I can find the energy to get outside for some much need fresh air.

So nice to see you all here. I've missed you all. Xo

Hello to anyone else who might be out there reading this post. Please jump on in and say hi.

Spark on ladies!!!

It has been a very busy time. Having my house on the market, working, and having the transmission go in my vehicle has kept me going in circles.
But if I have learned anything from this life journey, it's that you have to keep your chin up and don't dwell on the hard times. Sparking everyday and doing the best I can has made me stronger and given me better coping skills.
I am so glad I am a part of Spark People and have met some awesome fellow Sparkies.

Keeping Up The Spark

Hugs.....

Hi everyone,

I'm in a sad mood today, and will be tomorrow as well. Tomorrow marks the 6th year My Guy passed away, and it falls on the same day of the week that he died. This morning was rough, too. Just trying to hold it together until I decide I've had enough. I've already spoken to my supervisor and my co-worker, so I'm not stressing about being out tomorrow.

Wifey will be home tomorrow afternoon, and she's not working tomorrow night. I'll get to spend some time with her, and hopefully my mood will lift. Thoughts of getting completely s#!t-faced tomorrow keep popping into my head.... what makes it weirder is that I don't normally drink.

I'll be ok.... it'll just take a few days to move forward. :-)

Hey team! It's chilly here this morning, high today is 4 degrees. I expect flurrys at any time! We have to buy new winter tires this year so I guess it's time to get on that as we could need them at any time.

Zumba was great last night, nothing like a bit of high cardio to show you how out of shape you have become! God, it's hard to believe that you can go backward so fast! Talk about an eye opener that's for sure but the only thing to remedy that is to get back on the wagon, although really I should push it for a couple of weeks to get more out of it HAHA!

My parents are coming to town tomorrow so we will go to my sister's house to see them. Hubby wants to go to the cabin Saturday for the night and I really don't mind but man my house needs such a good cleaning. Being gone every weekend and working all week doesn't make for a clean house I can tell you that. Oh, don't get me wrong it's livable but the little things need to be done. My bedroom needs a purge like you wouldn't believe and I guess it will happen eventually.

Anywho, I got to get back to work..chat soon!

Hi everyone,

Temperature seems to have dropped to below 10C... c'mon AC at work, switch to heat!!

Thanksgiving was quiet, and for the first time ever, we tried a turkey in a box. It's only big enough for 4-6 good servings, it was already stuffed, there was some turkey skin around it, and I was surprised at how MOIST the meat was! Ok, so it was probably brined, but it really was tasty.

Today is the last day for training for the new Housing application. It'll be nice to get back to my regular work, instead of multitasking. The training went well, so well that I started listening to Radio-Canada just to stay in French mode before class would start. It was fun, but I know I couldn't do that for a living.... my introvert half needs a break from being social :-D I was always so mentally drained when I came home, so I know teaching in a classroom setting is NOT for me.

And today is just about done. I'm packing up shortly and heading home.

Drive safe
and
Spark on!

Hey everyone!

I'm glad to see that everyone is slowly trickling back after a busy summer!

Thanksgiving was quiet, we cooked turkey at the cabin. It was yummy but I sure missed my dishwasher!

Good for you Shirley on the willpower! And the exercise!

Zumba starts this evening YAY! I so need to get a kick start into some sort of routine for exercise. The sad part is I don't even really go home to sit on the couch, I'm always doing something, alas just not actually exercising!

Anyway... gotta run. Chat soon!

*trying to peek in without being noticed.... then notices the bright light in the room. Damn.*

Hey Peeps & Pervs - oh, wait, that's another group. :-)

How's it going ladies? I'm back (mostly) from delivering training. I'm sitting at my desk and realized it's almost the end of the day and I haven't posted here yet! There's another full day of training over Skype tomorrow, and then I think that's it until Go Live -- which got pushed back. Office of the Comptroller wants to look at our coding and how things are being passed back to Oracle. OoC has been very particular about any new software touching their environment, especially after the Phoenix payroll system fiasco. At least now, we might have time to correct the documents where we found errors.

I'm also getting back to tracking nutrition. I hadn't done any real meal planning, and I had no opportunity to work out at lunchtime, and I'm lazy after 5pm, and I was sure I'd be up several pounds. Nope. Just 1. So today was back at WATP and a very slow speed. My hip sure didn't like it!

Time to Spark a move to catch that bus!

Hope you have all enjoyed your weekend.
We had a beautiful turkey dinner yesterday. It was lovely be be with my family.
Today I took my mom and dad and moms bestie from home for a drive to Peggy's Cove and St. Margaret's Bay Area. The sun was shining so it was nice... Wind was cool but it was gorgeous.

I'm missing my peeps. Hope everyone is doing well. Xo hugs.

Hoping everyone had a really nice Thanksgiving. I had a nice quiet one. For my meal I had roasted duck and a moose roast with parsnips, carrots, potatoes. It was delicious.
Today I had a beautiful long walk.
It is back to the grind tomorrow emoticon
I hope I get some good news on my vehicle tomorrow as well. It is in the shop. I swear I have the worst luck at times. I also have to get after my land line service provider, as I am experiencing problems with it as well.
Keeping my chin up and pushing forward no matter what. :)
Anyways I hope all you peeps are doing well.
Shirley I am so sorry about you friend. Hugs.....
Hugs to all my Sparky friends...

Happy Friday Team.. !! And Happy Thanksgiving emoticon

Sam the cabin sounds wonderful... enjoy every minute :)

Looking forward to a long weekend...still tired out from this cold.

No weekend plans here Sam - waiting to see if a friend is available for a coffee...she just told me the other night at Trivia she has colon cancer...so hoping can meet for a tea/chat and hugs. Other than than..will be focusing on meal planning/eating clean and exercising. I have a request from my daughter to make them another batch of goulash - so I will probably make that tonight for her and my mom...Then I bought 2 turkey..waiting to see if Mom wants to come to my place or to her's - I will probably cook one regardless for meal planning for the week and to give my daughter left overs etc...

Hoping every has a FANTASTIC FRIDAY !!!!

Hey peeps!

Man is it warm here! It was 17 degrees yesterday and not that bad this morning! Hope it stays that way for a while to save a bit on the heating costs, but I highly doubt it!

Anyone have plans for the long weekend?

Almost Friday!! Long weekend to boot!

We were talking the other day about what we would do if we won the lottery and some people were saying that they would probably keep working because they would be bored. How could that possibly be? I can never find enough time in the day to keep my house clean and do all the things I would like to do at home now, so not having to work would mean I could do it. Add travel and the extra money to do things I normally wouldn't even contemplate there would be no way I could be bored! Wishful thinking right?

We are heading to the cabin this weekend as I expect our weekends out there are getting short. Once the snow comes we can't take the chance on getting caught out there in the car as the roads aren't plowed in winter. Hubby has a moose licence so he will be hunting all weekend and hopefully gets the moose so it's over and done with. I told him he has three days this weekend to get it done!

Anyway...got to head to work. Have a great day all!

Happy Sparky Tuesday peeps. I'm still Sparking along. It seems that there is always something to do and not enough time to do it all.
Sam those are nice pics of your pooches.
Lori and Shirley thanks for keeping the team going during busy times.
I am back down to three days a week at work, thank goodness. It has been a very busy summer for me and I am still trying to see my house which keeps me extra busy keeping things just so for viewings.
I will try to check in more often but I must head off to my nest for now as it is getting late and I have to work tomorrow.
Have a good night peeps..

Hugs
