I feel your pain, my boy goes off to high school next year...heís only going into grade 8 and he still seems way too young! I didnít feel that way with my older girls...Iíll probably bawl like a baby once itís the twins Ď turn! Best wishes to Rebecca - hope you get answers soon!

It was a busy day at work and I really just felt like laying around in my PJís when I got home. But it was such a nice evening I couldnít resist a walk...took my camera with me as I always do and got some great pics along the water and at the Rhododendron garden that is now in full bloom 🙂

Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow!

@ANLYNN Welcome welcome!!! Glad you could join our crew. emoticon

So another month gone!! Crazy how fast the time is going. Next month be a busy month with school whinding down and so many ceremonies to attend for the grade 6 graduation. I can't believe my baby is going to junior high in September.
Speaking of which, I got some not so great news today. Rebeccas test results came back and she will need to get an ultrasound done on her spleen as it is enlarged. The number 1 reason is usually mono and they tested her for that and it came back negative so I'm just trying not to let it consume me.
Anyway just wanted to give you the update.

Hope everyone had a great day.
Hugs my friends.

Sunday evening. It will soon be Monday and back to the grind. Oh yay.... I wish I didn't have to work anymore, but alas, I need to pay the bills.

I am so happy my daughter has joined our Canadian East Coasters group. She lives in BC now but is still an East Coaster at heart...
Now I really have to behave on here. lol... just kidding like I know how to behave, ya right!

I didn't do much today, other than the normal house work and some meal prepping.

How was your weekend, peeps?

Well tomorrow morning comes early and I need to get my beauty sleep. Have a good day tomorrow peeps and emoticon

Pooch was afraid of the very loud thunder today. He shook all over, poor boy.
Needless to say, I had some mopping to do.
After lunch though, I went for groceries and a peek at Value village. Not a bad thing to do. It helped me get some steps in.
This evening I caught up on some laundry, and recharged my batteries up for my lawn mower and whipper-snipper. After all this rain the grass has really sprouted up and I will have to mow when the yard dries up.
Well off to bed now so have a good night peeps..

Hugs.

Hey peeps. Hopefully I can post this. Having a very nice time. The kids didn't win, they did place second though. Rebeccas partner rolled his foot on Friday and had to have his foot wrapped and Rebecca was sick over night and was not feeling the best this morning. So proud of the both of them for pushing through it.

We got in a bit of shopping this afternoon, we all went out for supper and the kids had a swim in the pool while the parents enjoyed a wobbly pop.
All tucked in for the night. Not tracking a thing ....as you can imagine.
Hope you all had a great day.

So busy today... and now I am very tired.

My day started by taking my vehicle to get the tires changed over. After that I did some errands, which brought me back home for lunch. After lunch I went outside and finished raking and cleaning up my yard. Three hours later, I took pooch for a walk on the beach. Came home had supper and then this evening I did my TC.

Lori, all the best to Rebecca in her nationals..

Sam, I hope the rain takes the snow away for you.

Jo, I hope you don't get flooded. Keep your head above water...

Shirley, darlin' what are you up to?

Hello to all the other Sparkers out there in cyber world..

Hey team!

If anyone sees Noah with his Ark, could you send him up the Saint John River? We're starting to flood. On & off ramps on one side of the river are closed, and the other side will close before the end of the workday. There was an accident on the main road that takes me to the city, so I had to turn around, take an alternate route that took an extra 20 minutes, and deal with WAY too much traffic... on top of the ramps being closed. But I made it to work safely, and I'm parked in a lot that doesn't flood. One of the parking garages had to close because the flooding is right at the entry and exit areas. NBPower's head office may have to relocate to another part of the city, and we're next door to them. This might be a short work day.

So yesterday, we discovered a problem with the Reregistration process that Housing staff use to reregister applicants waiting for subsidy housing. There are some dates that don't connect, and something like 800 applications were "cancelled - failed to reregister" when actually, they did reregister by calling. So I'm working on the screenshots and documentation to fix it. It's not that it's broken, it's that we didn't realize one number field wasn't the same as the one used to cancel registrations. We found it, so while my colleague is calling the offices to let them know how to go back into the system to find their cancelled registrations and correct them, I'm redoing all the documentation for this process. In both languages. I *just* finished the English version, about it update the document, and then try French. I'm hoping to have both done before the end of the day.

I hope everyone stays somewhat dry this weekend!

Hey ladies!

Just a quick stop in as I have a funeral to attend shortly.

Raining here today, I so love it. Hoping to get rid of the rest of the snow in the yard faster.

Lori- wish Rebecca luck at the nationals!

Glenda- congrats on the medal, not so much on the mopping up!

Shirley and Jo have a great weekend!

Spark hard my friends!

Just another evening in the neighbourhood. Saw a huge racoon in the yard. I guess he's lookin' for some grubs. Thank goodness Marty didn't see him. I would have had fun trying to hold him back.
I had some mopping to do in the basement this evening. Just a certain way the wind blows the rain finds its way in.
I am hoping the yard will try up tomorrow so I can finish my raking.
Well gonna go for now my peeps.

Have a nice night peeps...

Omg... Omg..... I'm so excited. We don't have to pay in.... And we both are getting back. I am so excited. Now I can actually pay off my Plc cause this year that is how I paid for my car and house insurance. I am determined to get that paid off this summer so when the roof gets put on it in the fall that will be the only balance owing. Fingers crossed I can pull it off.

So I've have been run ragged the past two days. I swear to god my body is slowing down. As much as I have to do and as fast as I can move it just seems to be taking longer to get thing done. And guess what little present I got today after 11 and 1/2 months of no visits..... Ugh!!!! Menopause is no laughing matter. This is NOT was I expected.

So tomorrow we are off to New Brunswick for the nationals. In the last 4 weeks Rebecca earned $60 dollars from her grandparents for strikes and spares. Lol they were not expecting her to do so well.. so I guess we will have to find a mall to go to while we are up there.
We both have to work in the morning but I'm hoping to be on the road by 2- 230.

Anyway, I have laundry to fold, clothes to pack and lunches to makes so I'm off. Hoping to get to bed by midnight.

Thanks Shirley on the tip. I just assumed they were only opened during the day. I'll be giving them a call on Monday.

Good night.

EEP! I almost forgot to check in!

It's raining a lot today, snow in my yard is actually going away, and I think I pulled a muscle in my jaw earlier this week.

If you still think Shred is too hard, look for the video Beginner Shred. It's still Shred, but the modified moves are better.

And this is me, committing to working on income taxes tonight. *ugh*

Spark it here, spark it over there, spark it EVERYWHERE!

Morning Peeps...

Oh my nerves... I thought today was Friday :(

Jo - work is on and beyond and girl there are days I even look on line for other jobs...just difficult at this stage with almost 31 years to find anything comparable. My boss said he is hiring another person in the summer..and that he hopes that new person will free up maybe 30 mins of my day.... the more I think about it the more I am like that will not even make a dent in my workload.. sounds like the new person will free up the new guy that he hired that used to be our personal lines manager... they are like having a Bromance and they are talking consistently day in and out and I think he has been complaining about how busy he is..so most of the work the new person will do is stuff that he is now doing.... uggghhh

GLENDA - OMG girl CONGRATS !!!! So so proud of you... I wish my feet ex would co operate..not sure if added steps and walking is in the cards right now for me :((

Lori - I meant to tell you there are also evening and Saturday appointments... so you can schedule appointments that work for your schedule... I do evenings after work or sometimes even a Saturday.

Sam - hope all is well on the rock.

Well work is at me again... so will sign out.. just wanted to say HI

Hey peeps!

Happy AP Day to Shirley who is probably having a sucky day. You do hold that office together.

Is there anyone else here an AP? I'm in IT, so that's not me today. :)

Sam, you're wondering about the low carb eating plan and carbs like veggies, fruit, milk and others? I had the same thoughts when I considered Atkins. Then I found Somersizing, by Suzanne Somers. Say what you want about that girl, but her plan works. I'm being very lazy and planning poorly, so like you, it's hard to find the substitutes you need. But I did it for many years. My specialty was Hamburger Stew, which was essentially homemade spaghetti sauce beefed up with a TON of veggies. That reminds me.... I should pick up some broccoli and run it through the blender... I don't digest it well, so overcooked and mashed works the best.

Lori, what is up with this pain?? If the Doc can't figure it out the first time, I hope you won't stop asking for more tests.

Sam.... I swear, our street is the last one in the WHOLE AREA with over a foot of snow on the ground! It's close, though, and with today's temps and tonight's rain, I sure hope most of the lawn snow is gone soon. I could see an almost line forming from one lawn spot to another near trees last night. :-) I think there's poop-raking in my future... and probably my weekend.

Glenda, I am spoiled. I've always known it with Wifey, and I knew it with My Guy. When she's home, I almost never cook, and don't have to do the litter box. It gives me a little more time to either do housework that doesn't get done often or something more pressing for the family, like taxes. On the flip side, I spoil her too. I do the taxes. I decide what the meals will be for the week and buy the groceries. I let her sleep in when I'm awake early on the weekends. Stuff like that... it is special.

Speaking of groceries & stuff, is gas going up this week in NS & NL? "Industry analysts" are predicting a 4Ę hike tomorrow, and that we could see gas prices be in the $1.40's before summer is out. Next Tuesday I get the tires changed to summers, which should help the gas mileage, but I still have a gas hog. I can't go 500km's on a tank of gas if I'm not on the highway with winter tires, but it's a little better with summer's.

Back to work.... I have some training to plan. I'm so excited!!!! :)

Oh what a Sparky World!

Good morning peeps. It's been a few days. Our friend that lost his father left for Alberta yesterday morning so he came by to visit the night before last. He absolutely broke my heart. His mother has been in long term care for years and they thought she would have passed years ago. She is a cat with nine lives that girl. So frail but yet so strong. His dad on the other had was a marine, strong and handsome. The guy had it all. He only went into health care facility less than 2 years ago. So I guess Paul has been thinking about relocating back home and now has regrets of not doing it sooner. The whole situation is heartbreaking.

Last night I was in so much pain. I'm not even sure what happened to set me off but after eating supper on the back deck my neck/ shoulders just started flaring up. I got out the tens machine it got that bad. I took pills and even did ice and heat. I then hopped in the bath hoping that would relieve some pain but it didn't so at 830 I slapped the voltaren on it and went to bed.
I'm feeling better today but man the muscles are super sensitive.
If my manager ever decides to come back to work I'll actually get a day off to go see about this.
Anyway I won't even get into that one.

Anyway , I'm still here, barely hanging on but I'm here.

Have a great day.

Morning Ladies!

OMG I think spring has finally sprung! Hubby and I took the dog and went for an hour's walk and it was fabulous. I really needed the sun, I think I might have a bit of that seasonal depression you hear about. I have absolutely no get up and go in the winter time and would rather just sleep all the time. A bit of sun and I'm all about making changes and recommitting! I actually hit my 10,000 steps last night and it felt great!

I'm trying to figure out the eating. I tried the low carb and it made me feel great, no sluggishness or sugar spikes but very hard to find alternatives to bread and potato. And pizza and yogurt and cereal! Well I shouldn't say hard, more like more time consuming, therefore harder to stick too! But I definitely felt better. But it feels weird not to eat fruit and veggies freely, I mean we need all those vitamins right? I might look into meeting with a dietitian as our health insurance does cover this. Actually it wouldn't hurt for hubby to go with me either.

Jo your doggies are too funny! And it's so nice to be spoiled, I know because hubby spoils me all the time. It is so different from my first marriage that even after us being together for 5 years I still stop and say "wow I didn't know it was supposed to be like this!"

Shirley tension at work sucks big time.

Glenda I wish I was close to getting yard work done. The most I get to do is pick up dog poop as it comes out of the snow! HAHA

Lori when does Rebecca go to Nationals is it?

Anyway, I'm going to do a meal plan for the next week, slowly getting back into the low carb way.

Take care peeps!
Sam

Jo, you are spoiled in a really nice way, girl... and I bet you deserve every bit of it too...

Shirley so sorry those bosses of yours are a..holes! Some don't have a clue how to treat dedicated employees..

Lori, how was your day?

And Sam, what are you up to girly?

I was going to do more yard work this evening after work, but I opted not to so to save myself for tomorrow evenings training walk... The backs of my legs are sore from all of the bending I have been doing picking up leaves. I will give them a little time to recuperate.

I am off to bed soon.

All the best tomorrow peeps...

Hugs...

Hey everyone!

Shirley, I'm sorry your bosses are d!@ks. I know what that's like, and it's why I managed to change jobs within GNB. My partner in crime on the other side of my wall just got her position permanently, and mine is next. I'm on temporary reassignment, so if I don't want to go back, I have to apply for the job I'm doing now. I even worked on my resume & cover letter yesterday, to get ready for the posting. I'm not going to tell you to hang in there, because I don't know your situation at that workplace very well. But I am going to tell you to find the courage to do what you have to do, whether it's wallop the boss & his son with a 2x4, or call in sick, or spruce up the resume, so you can get through this. I know you can.

Glenda, there are days when the critters are just a story waiting to be told. :) My favourite time with them is when I first get home from work. Most people don't want their dogs to bark, but when I'm home, I want them to bark as loudly and as much as they can, before I open the door. I want to hear how much they've missed me. Meanwhile, the cats are all hiding because they think the house is being invaded -- except for one cat, who loves everyone, and he hurries to me so I can pat him before the other cats. It's quite the brood. I'm still laughing about yesterday's doggie antics.

The snow is quickly disappearing!!! OMG!!!!! I took a picture last night of the back yard.
When I get home, I hope to see the bottom of the wooden bin.

Wifey got her homework handed in online in time last night. It was some hard to not distract her! I decided it was high time to sort out the rest of the papers for our income tax, so that took up most of Wifey's homework time. Depending on her homework, I think I might hook up the XBox to the TV and pull up Netflix, and watch a movie with her, snuggled on the couch, while the dogs pick sides. :)

Oh! and I think she's making a roast pork for supper. I truly am spoiled! :-)

Hi team!

Sounds like a good weekend for all!

Friday night's dinner with friends was a hoot! I haven't done something like that in ages, and it was good that one of our hosts is a talker, because we laughed all night long! We'll be doing that again with this couple. I had forgotten what it's like to have dinner at someone else's house!

Saturday, Wifey & I tried to find her certificates she had earned while at Irving and Circle K, for her professional portfolio. We've been looking for a month now, but to no avail. However, we did get rid of 1 big box and a large tote container filled with ... well... stuff! We've got some new rags (as in cut in strips that horrible t-shirt with holes!), I found MORE garbage bags (I swear, My Guy had a garbage bag fetish!), lots of odds & sods that got tossed out, and a box of personal items her son Chef Son was looking for. That felt GOOD!! There are a few more items for the Bibles for Missions store, including some clothes. That really did take most of the day. Later that night, when we put the dogs out, DogFace decided to bark his head off, letting us know Mr. Gorgeous King Dobe is in the yard. So we brought in BellaButton & DogFace, and moments after, King Dobe is at the bottom of our steps, HOWLING for us to let her out or him in. It was just too funny.

Sunday, Wifey & I went to Moncton in separate vehicles, because I had to come back home. My nephew had his Confirmation at church yesterday, so I had to go. :) Tante Jojo doesn't like missing stuff like that. I was home by 7pm, and it was a really nice drive.

The Saint John river is starting to rise, but there isn't concern for flooding just yet. Like most years, it's difficult to predict if there will be flooding, and where along the river it will happen. EMO has created an app for phones to alert people about the River Watch. I haven't installed it yet, mainly because I don't live in a flood zone -- the best advantage of living halfway up the mountain. :-)

Wifey just emailed me. She said if I left her alone long enough for her to do her computer assignment that needs to be in by midnight tonight, she'll come home tonight until Wednesday. I'm like.... "Yes, I can leave you alone to get that done!" She just left my Mom's and is headed home. I wasn't expecting that!

And finally, my biggest chuckle of the day.... Even though DogFace has no balls (literally), he still humps. And he's managed to hump BellaButton a few times, but she usually walks away before anything fun happens. Well, this morning the "fun" happened. I could hear thrashing next to the bathroom door, and I knew it was the dogs, but I didn't expect them to be locked! OMG! I was trying so hard not to laugh at their plight! I had to keep BellaButton lying down, and calm DogFace down, so they could separate. At one point, she stood up, and poor boy, his back feet were off the ground! Normally, he's the one who whines because she walks away too soon. Not this time! She whined and whined, and wanted to get up, and whined. Meanwhile, DogFace has this sheepish grin on his face. I had to leave for work a half hour later, still laughing.

Oh, the joys of dogs on the Hurlett Rd. :-P

Spark like the sun!

Hey gang!

It's been a while :) Glad to see everyone is thriving and moving forward!

Yard work is still a while away for me... I still have a couple of feet of snow to melt! So ready for it to be all gone now!

Glenda such a cute story. I can just see you now up to your eyes in snow emoticon

Shirley I wish I knew someone that could have trained Sophie to be a hunting dog. She certainly got the instinct.

Well today was a busy day of yard work and dragging limbs, bows and trees. We are building a new shed so we decided at least one tree had to go. I'd like to cut them all down cause I don't like them. They are old, spindly and not the nicest looking things but it's a lot of work when it's not being professionally done and we have to burn the wood ourselves. I swear it will take us the summer to get through the pile. Anyway the most important tree is done.

I also got my workout in and now it's time to get a shower and call it a night.

I hope everyone enjoyed the day. Spring has sprung in Halifax. emoticon

Such an awesome day!!!
I spent the greater part of it outside. Lots to clean up out there. So many broken branches and leaves.
I should sleep well tonight.
Can't believe the weekend is almost over.... urgh!
Back to the grind tomorrow.

Let's all get our Spark On this week....

Awee Glenda... our Dads and beagles would have gotten along so well..... it was sad when Dad passed we found new homes for his 2 beagles.... my 3 brothers still enjoy hunting.. but they don't do rabbit hunting much.. mostly deer.. Dad enjoyed the Rabbit hunting as it was "not boring and he did not have to keep quiet" lol

Lori - sounds like a productive day... temps are supposed to rise this week.. I hope to get some of my patio furniture from downstairs storage room onto my deck..maybe later today.... wind is still a bit cool in the shade here.. I do not get the sun till mid afternoon.. then my place will go up to 27-28 degrees lol

Jo - Sam - hope you are enjoying this SparkY Weekend !!!

Hey peeps. Just a quick note to say hey.

Today was a full day of tree trimming and getting caught up on laundry. Our set tub was out of commission for a few days so the laundry was piling up. It was a great day to be outside. Hoping for another great day tomorrow. Hope you all enjoyed your day.
Xo hugs

Shirley, my dad also had beagles for hunting. My dad and his bros loved to hunt.

I am hoping to do some yard work tomorrow. We shall see how it goes.

Have a nice night peeps and keep the Sparkle.

Hey peeps. Just a quick note before bed. Rebecca made out good today. She is feeling ok, just tired and concerned more than anything. I could not believe we never left to go to the hospital till 140 and left again by 3 and did blood work and an X-ray. Both places were empty. We walked in and got registered and seen right away. She us gone for a birthday sleepover so hubby and I went to Mezzas for supper and watched a show. Now it's time for bed.

Have a great weekend ladies.

Jo, and a Happy 420 to you as well...lol.... A little funny story about my hubby. We went rabbit hunting together and the snow was quite deep in places. He managed to jump from one large boulder to another, no problem of course. I was following him, or so we thought. I went to do the same thing as he did, jumping from one boulder to another only, here it comes, only my legs are much shorter, totally miss calculated, went down between the boulders in the deep snow and I was only visible from the eyes up. I can still see him bent over in a gut wretching belly laugh.. lol... I wasn't hurt, thank heavens.. Needless to say, we never got any bunnies that day... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy 420!

Oh, right... wrong crowd. emoticon

Shirley, I'm glad to hear you're going to enjoy your Friday, one way or another. :) TGIF Girl!!

Lori, I wish Rebecca a speedy recovery, that these lumps are not dangerous, and that they go away on their own quickly.

Glenda, thank you for sharing. I know when My Guy passed away 5.5 yrs ago, a lot of people didn't want to say his name in front of me, out of fear I'd break down. But it would've been nice to hear others talk about him. Do you mind sharing 1 or 2 favourite times you had with him? One of my favourites with My Guy was our trip to Montreal. Imagine, 2 little New Brunswickers in the big French city of Montreal! We had a fabulous weekend, including the A-HA! moment I had about my weight. We went to bars and danced. We ate some good food. We visited some new friends. And we drove there and back.

Sam.... Sam.... Sam??? Oh right... crab season started. Well, when you get the smell of shells off your hands to type us a note, it'll at least tell us you didn't fall off the boat. :)

One of the ladies who works out with me (Lisa) brought in a Beginner Shred video. Oh. My. GOODNESS! This came out 4 yrs ago, and after watching it last night, I know I can do this video with the ladies! It's still hard, but much more low impact than ever! I have a half hour to wait before we try it today. I can't believe I'm actually excited about doing a workout video!

Happy Friday 420! And if you choose to enjoy this wonderful and healing herb, remember to eat first, and lock the fridge & cupboards. :-)

Jo, yes, yes I did... I introduced myself to her as I recognized her from here. We hugged. She is such a sweet heart. Jo, I don't mind you asking about my LH at all. In May it will have been three years. I still miss him like it was just yesterday. emoticon

Lori, I signed up on line for a total of $66.94 which includes my race shirt and the wrap thingy. We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:00 at Graham's Grove for the training from last night until June 06 the Wednesday before the race/walk. I would love if you could join. That would be awesome. How is Rebecca? Give her a hug for me.

Shirley, 9:30 doing your bike workout. Way to go girly. emoticon

Hey peeps.

Sorry I've not been posting. I swear if it rains it pours. Things happen so fast sometimes. So after that crazy day/ night with my bil and sissy that day they left we got a call from our good friend and his dad had passed away and he was on his way to the airport.... Whatever day that was.
Last night after rebeccas teacher interview we b- lined it out to sackville to the celebration of life for him. Today they left for cape Breton where he will be buried.
Rebecca has been complaining about pain in her neck and legs. I just chalked it up to all the tournaments she had bowled in. Well I found these these pea sized lumps in her neck so off to the dr we went. He checked them and wanted to see her in 2 weeks. Then yesterday she wakes up rubbing her leg complaining again of pain as as she is rubbing her leg/ groin she finds a lump. I call the dr he fits us in today but when she wakes up this morning that lump is twice the size and now she has a lump on the other side in her groin. Sigh.... And her neck is straying to swell. Sooo tomorrow I've got to take her to the hospital for blood work and a chest X-ray.
I swear I need a drink.... And I don't mean water. emoticon

Glenda I was going to look into the soul sisters. I want to do it. I just haven't had the time to even check. Can you tell me off the top of your head how much it cost ... And when is it you meet???

Hi Team!

Glenda, did you meet Nate? When you mentioned Soul Sisters, I was hoping you'd get to meet her, pink tutu & all. emoticon

Shirley, would you like to Flick my Bic? emoticon I can get the lighter fluid, too.

Last night, Wifey was working on her cover letter for the career development module at school. It took us about an hour, but we got some wonderful action words in there, and even managed to tie in her retail managerial experience with what she is studying now. My mom was going to go over it as well and make some suggestions if needed.

I'm heading to Global Pet Food to get some crunchits for all the animals, which means 2 separate bags. Then I'm off to get DogFace at the groomer's, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Boston Terrier side of him again. He's got Pomeranian butt fur and although it looks ok, it's hard to see the Terrier in him. I'm especially fond of that look on him.

Glenda, I know you mentioned it before, but I can't remember. How long have you been widowed? I hope you don't mind me asking.

Time to head for Global, then groomer's, then HOME!! YEAH!

Sprinkle some of that Sparkly sh!t everywhere!

Shirley, I had an awesome time this evening at my training walk... I met one of our Sparkies there... Yes.. I was so excited... I also met one of the nurses that took care of my H in chemo, we hugged and shed some tears... and I met another lady I knew from a few years back.. I feel so emotionally high right now that I may not get much sleep. I can't wait for next Wednesday.. Oh, yea, there is a lady in her eighties doing this and apparently she has been doing these and other walks for years. I really got the motivation put to me this evening!! I am soooo glad I signed up for this.
I still came home and did my T/C so I am pumped!!!

I better go for now and settle down for the night...

I'd say happy hump day, but I have 2 dogs at home and one is in heat, and well.... humping... :-P

Lori, sorry to hear about your BIL's mom. I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Sam, Glenda & Shirley, hope you're not drowning under paperwork over there!

Last night I managed to not have any bread or pasta with supper, and had spaghetti squash with the meat sauce I made. I wanted that Knorr Sidekick, too. At least I know how Dad feels when he struggles to figure out what to eat.

Speaking of which, he found an apartment! I'm so happy for Dad! He can afford it, and it's in Dieppe, so he's close to the family. He moves in June 1, because he has to give 30 days notice at his current place. Now to look into Meals on Wheels so we can get his diabetes under control, and I think he'll be set.

Oooh! Quitting time! Gotta go! :-D

Lori, sorry about your BL's Mom. You must be tired my friend! That was a very quick visit and you having to work all day. Hope you get some rest.

I had a pretty easy day today at work. Thank heavens.
This evening I of course had some water to mop up in the basement. I expected that though the way the wind was blowing.

Tomorrow evening, if all goes well, I will be going on my first meet for the Soul Sisters' training walk. Yippee!! I am looking forward to it. emoticon

For now my lovelies, I am needing some Z's so I am off to my nest...

Night night

Good evening peeps. A quick hello before I call it a night. It was a very late night last night and a very early morning this morning. My brother in law lost his mother so he and my sister were flying home and they missed their connecting flight so they had a lshiver here in Halifax. They were supposed to get here at 10 but didn't arrive until 1230 last night and had to be at the airport again for 545 this morning. A quick but bittersweet visit. I then worked all day. Boss if off for another 2 weeks.
Anyway time to head to bed before I completely wake.
Good night.

Good morning Peeps! :-D

We have freezing rain today, and although the roads are pretty good, I am taking the afternoon off to see the Doc for refills, then the Car Shop to get my heat shield replaced, and finally off to the Massage Therapist to finish my day.

The heat shield on the truck has been hanging for the better part of a week, but I keep forgetting about it, because it's not a huge issue -- except when driving in cross winds. I notice it a lot more when I drive by open spaces and the wind rushes through. Yep, enough of that.

The dogs aren't happy about the wet weather, but I don't think they mind the shrinking snowbanks. They both tend to get stuck on little bits of hard snow, and when it's this yucky out, I just pull on the rope, they backtrack and eventually run back to the deck. You'd think after living here for the better part of 15 yrs that I'd have clothes that work better for the seasons. Nope. The 2 pieces I really need are windbreakers for the top and for the bottom. There's always such a breeze at home that it's hard to stay warm. Assuming the finances are ok, I'm going to try finding windbreaker jacket & pants this spring, even if they're not lined.

Don't let your Spark fade when the sun dips away.... :-D

Ah, Monday! Such a joy filled day! Actually it wasn't a bad day. I had lots to keep me busy and that helped with the tension that was floating around me. Kept my eyes focused in my own little space and the day went by.
It was a chilly day, weather wise. Oh Spring where are you?? I need to feel some sunshine in my face and to warm my bones. I want to get out and do some yard work and get my deck furniture out.
Here's to a wonderful Spark Day tomorrow.... emoticon

Night peeps...
Hugs..

Hey Team!

Glad that some of you got together for some celebrations! Cheeks that hurt from laughing is a great feeling. :-)

This weekend was nice & quiet again. We headed to Best Buy Saturday afternoon so she could buy me a Bluetooth headset for my phone. We found one for less than $50, and I got to try it last night when she called home. I like it! :-) I also booked a reflexology session for Wifey, and that happens on the 28th. Then we went for supper. If you're ever in Fredericton, one of the most popular and tasty places to eat is the Diplomat restaurant. They have buffets as well, and although it's Asian-themed, there are some Canadian foods too. So I really enjoyed some chicken, beef & pork, and even tried a snowcrab leg. I had NO idea the snowcrab legs taste similar to lobster! So even though I had no pasta, no bread, only some breading on the pork and no breading on the chicken balls, I still managed to overeat. And I didn't feel great. *sigh* I'm not going to complain, and this makes me realize that much more that I really need to be better at choosing foods.

And that may be a little harder than I would have imagined. I can't have soy anymore, and there are SO MANY foods made with soybean oil or soy lecithin! I decided to read up on lecithin, and it's a soybean by-product that looks like sludge, and is often bleached, and the beans are usually GMO. So as I go through the rest of the prepared foods at home, I'm checking labels again.

Got BIL & SIL's taxes done, going to work on nephew's, and then start ours. I was impressed I got that much done. :)

It was our pleasure Glenda. Xo

So felt like a gong show. I did everything from poo duty to tear down shed, strip beds to washing a few windows. I can't wait to have a few days off to get at my spring cleaning. I am usually half done by now and this year I'm just getting started. I managed to get a quick 30 minute workout video in there but that's it. I just had to get some work done.
Back to work tomorrow. Hopefully the manager is back this week.

Have a great week everyone. emoticon

I think my cheeks are sore from the laughter yesterday. Thanks Lori, Shirley and Rebecca for an awesome time. You are the besties....

Today I took his lordship for a good walk on the beach. We met lots of cyclists, other dogs and owners and three beautiful horses with their riders. I wanted to go horse back riding after that and thought of our conversation (Lori/Shirley) yesterday. Funny how things happen.

May we all have a good Sparky Monday tomorrow...

Hugs to the best team on Spark....

Love you peeps...
