I did it!! I got one other person to join us at lunch workout!! Mind you, I have to poke her a little, but the other 2 had a lunch date, so it was just me and the 3rd one.

This is AWESOME!!!!

Friends are like bras -- close to the heart and there for support.

Lori I just completed week 1. That being said it's the beginner of all beginner weeks. I get shin splints so I'm starting off at the most basic. Walk 10 min. 30 sec run two min walk. .. x4. So a total of 2 mins running. Walk for 10 at the end.

This week I will up the running to 40 seconds. Walk for 2 minutes. X 4. Again walk ten in the beginning and end.

I used an app called gym boss that lets you set up the work out.. it's pretty good cause then you don't have to keep watching the clock.

Ok Samantha. Have you started this yet?? Is it too late to join you. I don't even know where to start with this. What app did you download.... Assuming that's what needs to be done. Lol

Running.... oh, such a lofty idea. I heard my knees crunch at the very thought of it.

I wish I could run or jog. I've had recurring dreams where I entered into a race in a small village, complete with little stone bridges and cute townhouses. The race continues on into the evening and night, and I'm on the bridge, running effortlessly, for the sheer fun of running. Full moon in the sky. That's how recurring it is.

So instead of taking up the Couch to 5K, I'm going to commit to finding one new person to add to the lunchtime workout each month until June. I think I'll lose most of them to the nice weather, but if I can keep them going until then, then I'll have reached my challenge. :-)

Anyone else?

So I did it! I got on the blessed treadmill and did the first day of a couch to 5 k! I have a coach this time and the app is set to beginner...very new beginner. It actually didn't seem that hard at all but I am sticking to the simplicity of it. It may take me longer to get to the end goal, but I need to get there!

I did discover that I need new shoes sooner rather than later. My cross trainers I purchased for Zumba are not going to be useful for running!

So my goals are to run a 5 K in July, and maybe a 10 k in October.

Anyone wanna join me?
