Happy Valentine's Day!!!

So here's the hard question -- did you manage to stay out of the chocolate and other sugary treats today?

Me? I got into them, but I'm paying attention. One desk drawer is getting more and more chocolates wrapped in foil, but it's behind me, I only go in there occasionally, and I'm usually strong enough to resist. Today, there were shortbread cookies, muffins, jelly beans, soft chews, holy friggin' chocolate, and thanks to one supervisor, fruit kabobs with strawberry dip and sugar-free chocolate dip. I had to email her a thank you for staying the course and helping my chunky butt make better decisions. I swear, EVERY woman on this floor is on a healthy eating plan, but when the sweets come out.... !!!!!!

Wifey's EI came in yesterday, so I'll finally have enough money to buy her a card. This weekend, I felt so poor that my lint didn't even want to stay in my pocket. She had a few $$ last week and got mine, but I'm not opening it until she comes home this weekend. I just need to muster enough resolve to keep my hands out of the chocolate displays. If I see Godiva chocolate on sale, though... all bets are off. :-) I'm also picking up some fresh mushrooms so we can have steak & onions & shrooms with some veggies.

Back to documentation... I'm on step 32 of 59, and really hoping I can get it done before I leave today.

Good evening ladies. Well as suspected I got called inti work today, the flu is everywhere. It just seems to be just getting passed around. So I'm hoping to drop a load off to good will. Hubby goes to work early and my girl don't get home until mid afternoon so that should be enough time to get some stuff put in the van and dropped off.

Anyway my iPad is getting jumpy and I will be lucky to get this much posted before it reloads so I'm gone. Good night.

There she goes,
Radioactive Jojo!
Watch as she glows,
Radioactive Jojo!

:)

I had a bone scan this morning, and was injected with some radiation so the bones would show up on the scans. It was a good half hour, and there was a lot of focus on my pelvic area. I sure hope we figure out what's going on soon!

For the last week or so, when I get to my desk in the morning, I'll play a youtube video for inspiration and motivation. They're usually less than 15 minutes, which means I can get my day going on a great note.

Shirley, thanks for the tidbit on the tub & soaking. I agree about it not being a miracle cure, but I was already pretty relaxed before I got in the tub. Would you believe it actually stressed me out to get ready for a bath?! Maybe if I had a soaker tub, where the water could reach OVER the boobs, it might be different.

My evenings are becoming unproductive again, and I know it's the winter blues trying to sneak in. I'm working to do at least an hour's worth of stuff in the house in the evenings, because there is just so much clutter to go through. I don't like it when I feel lazy and do nothing about it, so I'm going to start doing something about it. One of my goals this week, before Wifey comes home, is to go through the 2nd storage room, and move all the stuff to the guest room, again. If my trend continues, I should be able to get rid of at least one more box of stuff, and hopefully not a little box. I also found another box of winter clothes, and I think I might actually have 2 more pairs of pants to wear to work!

Back to documentation, and enjoying my work!

Jo

Good morning Team..

Glenda.. .you would be an awesome teacher... !!! The weeks will fly by and that student is very lucky to have you :))) I just found out does not appear that I will be getting a summer student or help this summer..and then my boss decided to put all the work back on my plate... he hired someone else in our dept and they are like "Besties" now..so he's getting the preferential treatment.... so the work he was doing to help my work load is now back on me... Oh Joy !!!

Jo - The deal about the tub I think is for us to truly let the thought process go and relax.. now mind you that is a challenge for most of us .. especially women..but its a great way to relax and reduce stress. Just throw those thoughts to the back burner when they resurface. Epsom Salts will help with the aches - but not a miracle cure... I was told at least 2-3 cups of Epsom Salts in the bath...and 20-30 mins... but be very careful .. as the salts can make the tub a bit slippery - and remember to drink lots of water before and after!!

Sam - Nice to see you pop in.

Lori - I hope you enjoy your days off..and I bet you will have that Van packed up in a day with all the things for Good Will :))

Well another day no zzzzz with this cold/cough... I was up watching TV at 2 AM emoticon Hope I can stay awake at work today....

Everyone have a fantastic day !!!

Good evening ladies.

Glenda I bet you're a better teacher than you think. I too will be training 2 people next week. I dislike that part of the job because I'm a little ocd with certain aspects. Lol so I feel your pain. At least mine is only for the week. I couldn't hack it for 5 weeks. I'd be off my stick. Lol

I'm struggling to stay awake tonight and my arm is driving me crazy. Speaking of crazy .. I'll tell you this quick little story before I sign off. When mom and I were shopping the other day I had a near miss. Mom went into the dollar store while I quickly ran to get something for a store a few doors down. Anyway as I was walking to my van this idiot decided to back out of her spot before checking the empty spot beside her( which is where I was walking) She didn't back out straight. The spots on either side of her was empty so she got in started her suv, cut the wheel hard and backed up. If I didn't put my arm out she probably would have knock me down and ran me over. I put my hand out as to stop her and my rings made a noise on the side of her suv and she jammed the brakes. I was pissed and at the time didn't think much of it other than she was a moron. Anyway now my neck and arm are acting sore Know I really do need to see your friend Shirley.
Glenda I just read your post tonight too as I had missed some posts the other day. I can't believe that someone would actually put the vehicle in reverse to try to hit you. What the heck was he on!!! So glad you were able to get yourself out of that situation safely. I swear to god people are getting crazier everyday.
Anyway. I'm beat so I'm off.
Good night ladies. Stay safe out there.

A busy day at work. I will possibly be having a student shadow me for about five weeks... Not a fan of doing this... I don't like anyone leaning over my shoulder while I am doing things. I am not a very good teacher. It should be an interesting five weeks to say the least...

Well I just finished my T/C workout and finished tracking for today so I think I will take some down time before bed.

Hello to all my peeps... You all are doing awesome...

Hugs...

Hey Sparkers!

Well, I had a NSV this weekend -- I tracked all my food this past weekend ... at least the ones I remembered. And the calories were crazy high. In the spirit of tracking weekends and not letting them be trainwrecks, this was a good start. The next trick is to do it again next weekend, and remember to track soon before/after eating.

The weekend was good, but we had snow, and there was freezing rain just south of the city, so we didn't go to the baby shower after all. We stayed home and puttered all day -- it's been a while since I've had a real putter day. On Sunday, just before she left for Moncton, Wifey made sure I could start the snowblower so I could clean up the edges of the door yard. Mr. Plow came by, which meant 90% of the work is done, but he's horrible at cleanup and pushing snowbanks back. So I worked at that for an hour, while DogFace pouted at the living room window.

For the last 3 weeks, my Monday morning weigh-in has just been over 220lbs, so I jotted down a small weight loss for the month. Even with the crazy amount of calories from the weekends, I still managed to lose weight. Not a lot, but I lost some.

I was reading an article about medical cannabis usage, and came across the strangest thing I've ever seen: someone figured out how to get compressed THC in aerosol format into an asthma canister, and it can be used like an inhaler. At first I was like, "WOW! Like an asthma inhaler! This is GREAT!" And then I started thinking about aerosol, and didn't like the idea so much. I guess it's back to the edibles instead of puffing.

Is anyone else belly-button-lint poor this month? Holy cow, I mean I can't put $100 down on my new orthotics today poor. I mean putting in $20 in gas because you don't have $60 to fill up yet poor. February isn't my favourite month. That said, the only groceries I need for the month are milk and fresh veggies. Just about everything else was bought dry or frozen, so at least I don't have to worry about buying meat right now. It's also a good time of year to clear out the cupboards and get a head start on Spring Cleaning.

And speaking of cleaning & culling, I started deciding where some of the "Life Activities for Storage" would go. I was able to define specific activities or times of year that need us to store things, like camping gear, media (books, music, movies, etc), "Our Men's Memories", seasonal clothes and a few other items. The one I decided this weekend was the media, and it needs to go in the living room. Until we have a TV that can be mounted to the wall, I'll come up with an idea to keep them all in the living room, and out of the cats' reach. When I finally decided that item, I felt a lot better about the purging. There really is a lot to go through, and Wifey is a bigger hoarder than I am, so I'm working hard on getting rid of things that serve me no purpose at all. It feels good.

And finally.... can someone please explain to me the appeal of a soak in the bath? I don't mean a shower, I mean plunk your butt cheeks onto the bottom of the tub, let the water come over the thighs, and sit there bath. I've had 2 in the last 2 weeks, and ladies, I DO NOT enjoy it. I hear people rave about a long bubble bath -- I couldn't wait to get out after 20 minutes and the water had cooled off. I used Epsom salts because I knew I'd be sore from the snow blower, but it didn't seem to help at all today. What am I missing?? I mean, I get a lot of ME time, so that's not what I'm looking for. What are your thoughts?

Jo

I was having issues again with dropping my wifi so I didn't post last night.

So yesterday I gathered another load for good will. I'm off on Tuesday so I'm focusing on getting what I can packed up to get this stuff out of the house. My darling daughter is at a crossover stage right now and I have discovered if she puts something in the box for goodwill today it needs to leave the house rather quickly otherwise she is changing her mind on things that she already made decisions on.
So I decided yesterday after playing around with the curtains that I rely do like the new curtains better for the living room as well so off I went to GT to get more. As luck would have it the Halifax store only had 2 and the girl checked to see if more were coming in and no such luck sooo after supper last night I called mom and off we went again.. This time to sackville where I found 1 there and I knew there was 1 more at the Bedford location so we headed there as well.
However my luck ran out cause when I got there it was gone. Dumb luck. So today I am hoping and praying that the Woodlawn location has one and I pray even more that the freezing rain holds off so I can get there to check as the girl in Bedford told me the ones I picked are the older stock. Figures!!! Lol
Also I was on the hunt for just some really thin placemats at the dollar store. I had seen them there a thousand times and every time I checked there were none. Well last night I decided to stop into the Bayers lake location on my way back to Dutch village GT and I was lucky enough to get the last 8 in the color I wanted. Hopefully I can get that last curtain that I need and I'll be done with that.
Well mom and I had a good laugh at ourselves " runabouts" as she likes to call us. One phone call, we drops everything and we are going shopping. She was happy to get out and we always haves fun together.
I told her if it's not in Woodlawn we just might have to take a road trip..... To Truro. Can you imagine driving an hour away for 1 $6 curtain!! Well she just thinks that hilarious. I can hear her now "Costs more in gas than it do for the curtains"
Anyway it was a good day.
Wish me luck today.

Had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with my SL. We did our usual GT shopping, and had lunch at the TN Diner. When we were heading home we were stopped at a red light and the driver in the car in front of me started shaking his fist in the mirror at me and then decided to put his vehicle in reverse to try and back into me. Thank goodness no one was behind me and I was able to quickly shift mine into reverse and then the light turned green and he took off. I have no idea what his problem was but I am sure glad he didn't hit me. I couldn't get his license plate number as it all happened so quickly. You just never know what kind of crazies are behind the wheel sometimes.
Lori, I love the GT. I am always finding good deals there.

I hope you peeps are all getting your Spark on this weekend...

Hugs...

I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the issues I'm having with the site is wearing me out. Lol an error with the page being reloaded is enough to drive a girl bonkers. Lol

No big plans for this weekend. Our water meter guy was here and replace the meter so now it's time to put the basement back together. Good time for a spring purge. I love spring and getting all the cleaning done. It's like a detox. With all the stuff I brought to good will before Christmas it shocks me to see yet another pile growing in my walkin closet. Makes me happy though. Don't know where it's all coming from but I'm happy to get rid of it. My kijiji pile is dwindling and I've decided once the basement is purged and cleaned anything not sold will be gone as well.

Mom and I spent the day together yesterday which was nice. We went to GT and I got my curtains. The prices there are crazy cheap. The panels I picked out were $16 each, they had them marked down to $10 and when I got to the register I only paid $6.... I had a START THE CAR" moment. Lol I only needed 3 panels can you believe it..... $18 dollars for 3. I paid $29 for 1 panel for my living room and I don't like them nearly as much. I Just might go on the hunt for 4 more. For that price I'd be crazy not to. I'll have to try them in the living room first. My living room and dining room are connected and the windows are on the same wall and parallel to one another so I don't want to overdue it with the same curtains. I'll see.

Anyway ladies that's it from me. Hope you have a fabulous day. Chat soon.

Friday, Friday, FRIDAY!!!!!

We've got more weather events coming this weekend, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to make the baby shower. That said, Mom-to-be is also in Fredericton, so I'll have to check FB later to see if they've rescheduled it.

It was a nice drive in today, especially at 7:15am. There was a peek of the sun just on the horizon. Sam, you're so right, spring really is just around the corner. :)

I'll also be glad when the end of March rolls around... that's usually when the power bill goes down and we have a little extra cash.

Dentist appointment went well. No cavities, gums look good, and sensitivity isn't too bad lately. She did mention, however, that the bridge I have in the front may need to be replaced down the road. I've had it for 30 yrs, so that bridge owes me nothing. I'll have to start saving for that one.

The software project I'm on is going live with the next phase on May 18. We have over 100 documents to write up before then, translate them, take French screenshots, and do videos for some of them. We have 67 working days, including today. There are 6 subject-matter experts, 1 of which is bilingual, me and Lisa doing user support and helping where we can, and programmers up the wazoo trying to make it all work. No vacations allowed from end of March until the end of June, because of the training around the province. I see OT coming my way. ;-)

Step it up with a Spark!

Jo

Hey Gang!

February 9th! This month is moving along really fast :) Before you know it spring will be here YAY!!

Anyone have plans for this weekend? I have a ladies dart tournament tomorrow so that will be fun! A girls day with some great ladies is always good for the soul. I'm not much of a people person but it is nice to get out with just the girls once in a while.

Sunday will be prep day for the week and relax. I find it so much easier to keep on track if I have a couple of meals already prepped and ready to go and it's so much easier getting home from work when most of the meal is already prepared. I've been doing good lately with eating veggies rather than falling back on potatoes. I've developed a taste for cooked spinach of all things! My daughter calls me Popeye haha!

Dart practice in the next month is going to be on the agenda! Harold and I are going to Gander St Paddys Day weekend to try out for the provincial team! I really don't expect to make it but the experience will be fantasic!

Anyway gotta run!

Spark hard emoticon

Good morning peeps... my biggest problem lately with the site is actually from work not at home on tablet...

Jo - glad your all dug out... sounds like a busy week with all the appointments.

Lori - glad your on the mend.. I think you gave it to me..through the computer lol
I woke up with a sore throat today and now I am freezing and aching.. but all my
co workers are in here sick... hopefully I can get to bed early and that helps.

Glenda - a nice relaxing day sounds - Amazing!!!

Sam - yes sometimes a finding that balance is great.. I personally do not like to be working every day and out every night... some times it is nice to be home.

Well gotta get back to work.. Spark on Peeps !!!

Yesterday was finally without any appointments. I can't say the same for today (dentist/cleaning), tomorrow (truck in shop for a vibration I can't identify), Monday (picking up orthotic inserts) nor Tuesday (bone scan). And Saturday, we're headed to Saint John area for a baby shower (Wifey's niece). Oddly enough, my house isn't a complete disaster. :-)

Snow started around suppertime here, and it was maybe 10 mins of light snow, and then it was hard & fast snow with wind. I was glad to be home by dark, because it was nasty out there. I think we got about 30cm, but I can't seem to find the numbers anywhere. Does anyone have a good site for finding out how much precipitation your area received?

Shirley & Lori, you mentioned problems with the site on your tablet/IPad. If you have McAfee antivirus, and you had the Family Protection package, you will have issues, and you have to go back to McAfee for the fix. If it's not that, are you using the Mobile version of SparkPeople? I can't track my food with my tablet, since I'm on the web site, but I can with my phone, since it has the app. If it's not that, when was the last time you ran an antivirus/anti-malware scan? Is it the amount of ads that appear on the screen and it takes up the bandwidth? The only solution I have for that is to buy a lifetime membership (less than $40Cnd), and ads go away.

Ok, back to documentation and screenshots! I love my job. :-)

Jo

Today was uneventful really. Just my relax day for the most part. I did venture to the mall for a bit though. Nothing exciting....
Had a nice supper and did my workout this evening.

Now I am off to dream land....

Have a nice night peeps....

Good evening ladies. A quick hello before my hot toddie time. Lol feeling much better today. The snow came and went.. Now it raining so my headache is completely gone. I still have a dry cough but seems to be a lot less irratated today. I parked further away from work this morning my god it was nice out. So nice in fact I even went for a 30 minute walk around the loop just to get out in the air once I got home from work. It felt good to be out clearing out my head and lungs. I feel like I soon may need another air exchange in the house. That will happen Friday as I am off. Awee 1 more shift and I'm done for the week.

Anyway, the kettle is boiled and it's time for my night cap.
Sleep tight peeps.

Good afternoon gang!

Glad to see everyone sparking hard! Life is a little bit craZy here lately, so many meetings and things going on in the evenings and I'm finding it very hard to keep on track. I'm going to have t make some choices on what I'm involved in so I can tone it down a little!

We have a heavy snowfall warning for tonight and tomorrow. I just wish it would go away lol. I'm ready for spring now, and darts to be over.

We are trying to have a come home year for Mount Moriah in 2020, which is great for the town! We have our corporation in place and are gearing up for our first big fundraiser, a 50/50 draw and we are partnering with our volunteer Fire Department as they are in desperate need of new bunker gear for a couple of their members. Win Win for the town!

have a great day all!

Good morning team...Happy Hump Day....

Wow I am having the hardest time tracking and getting into the group :(( Keep getting
"Page is not responding"..took me forever to get my tracking in yesterday.

Lori - you have to be careful with that cough..and rest is what the body needs to recover.
Good call on the Zumba..that would not be a good thing with a cough for sure.... just make sure to listen to your body. Everyone here at work is coughing and it's one that seems to lingure for a while.

Jo - fingers crossed that your Mom continues to feel better and that they can figure out what is causing her issues.

Glenda - how are you making out this week ?

Sam - how are things on the Rock ?

Well gotta head back to work... tired to get on last night ..but kept getting booted out.

have a SPARKY Day peeps !!! Hope you all had a fantastic day.. snowing here now .. evening.. just tracking and saying hello ..!!!! Nite Spark Friends !!

Lori, be sure to get enough rest with this thing you got going on. It's probably among the best things you can do for your body right now. Look at me... I'm preaching to the choir. :-D

Yeah, Mom's out of the woods for now. She's sleeping a lot, and taking full advantage of my Netflix subscription. I think Wifey said she's on Season 4 of 10 with Heartland. Now if I could only get Dad to stay put long enough to get him set up with it too, he might be happier this winter.

CatFace is doing well too. The vet didn't like hearing about the raw diet for animals, and after hearing concerns over salmonella, I get it. But it's unlikely we will stay with him, since he can't/won't advise us on raw. He was going to give the cat another shot, but I said no, because it's too much for him. And going to a hypoallergenic diet is not where I can afford to go for all 4 cats. Wifey & I have some research to do to find a vet in town who will be able to advise us.

Mammo went well. Tomorrow, I have a dentist cleaning & checkup. I think I have nothing else on Friday. Next week is looking busy too. I'll be glad when the tests are done, and hopefully find out what's going on.

I think I have 5 meetings today. I have no idea how I'm going to get any work done today, but I'm sure I'll squeeze it in.

A little Spark here, a little Spark there, a lot of Sparking EVERYWHERE! :-)

Good evening ladies.
Jo I'm glad to know that your mom is doing better and they know what was causing her hives. Hopefully she continues to get better.

Well I passed up my Zumba class tonight. I did try doing by bike twice today. I did 12 minutes each time and that was enough to know that I couldn't pull off 60 minutes of Zumba emoticon
Still have the dry cough. .... Super annoying. It sounds forced!! Anyway another hot toddie for me tonight. I swear this is the most I've had to drink in awhile. Lol

Hope you all had a great day.
Chow for now.

Hey Peeps!

A quick note, since I have yet another appointment this afternoon. Yesterday, I didn't make it to work after the X-ray on my hips and back -- the table was so hard that each buttcheek started to really pain, and when I got up, it was no better. I had the morning off, so I thought I would try walking around, so I got groceries. That was a bad idea. I was more sore after groceries than when I got off the table. So I stayed home and piled on the meds. I'm still sore today, but not nearly as much. The workout at lunchtime, though, made me think my hip would fall off.

Today is Boob-Squishing exam, and I'm leaving soon to go to that. After my cancer diagnosis, I have to go in yearly for those.

After I get back from that, I will go home and shove CatFace into the kennel and bring him to be checked out one last time. We figured out what he's reacting to, and I was surprised when I found out what it was: Fish! A cat who can't eat fish. So I bought some canned chicken instead, and got some new kibble for DogFace, as well as some new treats. The kibble and treats are freeze-dried, and contain very little "breed unappropriate" ingredients. If you have the time, and if you have Netflix, look for Pet Fooled. It's a documentary on the pet food industry -- and it's scary stuff. I've wanted to feed the dog a raw diet for some time now, but couldn't get it started. Freeze dried foods are the way for me to get there, and I found some foods that ALL pets in the house can have. There's one more product I need to buy, that when it's mixed into the food, it becomes complete nutrition for the pet. Then they all will be on a raw diet.

Mom is doing much better, although she's quite weak. She lost 30lbs of fluid in 2 weeks, but she's getting around pretty good. The allergy was a combination of the antibiotic at Christmas and the blood thinner. The last of the hives disappeared on Thursday, so by keeping her an extra night, docs were able to determine she was stable enough to go home. So I think she's out of the woods.

The trip to Moncton was eventful. The drive there on Saturday was good, other than the highway roads were still crappy. Once at Mom's, I managed to jam my finger into the door and almost split it open. Almost. It's ok now. That afternoon, Wifey & I went shopping, since Mom needed some food too. Costco, on a Saturday in Moncton. Just shoot me now! ;-) But we got some good food. We watched "Moana" after shopping, and enjoyed Chinese food. I had to get a move-on for Sunday, but it was snowing when I left. And it snowed. And snowed. Cars wanted to pass but the roads were just not clear. Right up until I got to the halfway point and it seemed like the skies cleared up! Driving was much easier all the way home, even if we did have some rain.

*Looking at list for the week* Dentist.... truck in shop... orthotics .... bone scan.... Oooh! Massage at the end of the month! YAY!!!

Spark it like you stole it!

Jo

Thanks Lori. Almost there.... and then.... to keep it off... Today I tried on a dress that has been hanging in my closet for about five years, never worn, and today it fits quite nicely. That in itself is a big reward for me. I never threw it out because my LH had bought it for me and I was never small enough to fit into it. emoticon
I hope you get better soon, my friend. That has to be wearing you down. emoticon Hugs...
Shirley, I am so glad you found your path and the scale is moving... Keep it up my friend.. I am proud of you... Hugs...

Morning team!

Everyone seems busy busy!
Lori have you ever tried pink Himalayan salt for your headaches? Just a half tsp in the palm of your hand, flick it in your mouth, and chug your water. Wait an hour and repeat.

It does wonders for mine! and worth a shot for you :)

Shirley you go girl!!! Awesome stuff!

This is just a quick check in as I have lots of work to get done :)

Happy Sunday Sparky Team Mates..

Just heading into town to visit with my Momma... got in 23 mins on bike before I leave.

Well I am still in shock with today's weigh in.... (my new weigh in day)....
Down 3.6 lbs...and last week was 2 lbs down... I seriously stepped on the scales like 6 times
to make sure I was seeing the number correctly emoticon emoticon
I have made changes to my eating plan and stayed on target and tracked and have got my water intake in. I think the biggest change is getting in the proper fats and amounts (this I know I have been lacking)...so fingers crossed that this will keep going .. also thank to Lori I re-measured last week and am down 10 inches since I measured last ... Lori and I made a deal we will do measurements monthly (as this is another non scale victory) ..as the scales sometimes will tick me off !!!

So .. wanted to wish you all a wonderful Sparkly Sunday... check in later..

Hello teammates.
So this morning I still had a bit of a headache and a slight tickle in my throat so I stayed in bed and had a good nap. I never got up until 10 am. So not like me but I wouldn't do it if I didn't need it. So after lounging for over an hour again I felt like the head was feeling better so me and my girl headed out for and mommy daughter day. She had gotten some money and gifts cards for Christmas so it was time. After our shopping excursion was done we went to starbucks. It's the one treat that she can have that she loves. She can't have ice cream so so this is her icream. She gets a strawberry and cream frappuccino with soy milk and no cream. It's an expensive treat but she saves her own money .... I swear I could buy a cow for the same price buuuut.... She deserves a treat. Today she used a gift card that she got for Christmas.
Anyway it was a nice day but my head just would not let up. It didn't keep me from enjoying the day but by the time we picked up hubby from work I realized that this headache was getting a tad stinger and now I have a touch of sore throat. This is not what I need. I thought for sure it was going to bypass me as they both been sick and I managed to not get it.
Well with that said I'll call it a night. Hopefully this hot toddie helps and I feel better tomorrow.
Good night ladies.

Happy Weekend Team... emoticon emoticon

Weekend Sparking.. Got to Gym as my first priority today... knew my housework would still be there when I returned. Funny there were people in the gym commenting 'you go girl" ..they were watching me on the weight machines and doing stretches and said they could not believe how flexible I was.... lol They said they could not do it !! (Small victories) .. I work on my stretching and flexibility daily ..as it is vital especially with aging so one can get up off the floor etc... emoticon emoticon

Glenda - glad you got your things done before the temps went down quickly.. I got home just in time.. the temps dropped almost 3 degrees just on my way home in 15 mins.

Lori - oh no on the headaches again.. :( I hope today with the weather a bit more settled that you are feeling better. Get working on checking into your medical coverages and booking an appt to help with your pain and mobility. !!!

Jo - what a great visual.. you go girl !!! Fingers crossed that your Mom gets some answers and that you get to see her today.

Sam - h ow are things on the ROCK ?

Well just doing some tracking mid - day..... and wanted to pop in to say
H E L L O !!! emoticon

Keep Sparking Team.. weekends are sometimes a bit tougher...and remember a weekend can ruin a whole week of progress.... emoticon emoticon

I love that idea Jo. A great visual reminder of what gets done. Great job!!

So today I was totally out of sorts. After lounging on the couch and nurturing my head I finally decided I had to get moving. With the cold snap coming I had to get out and rid the walkway of the ice that was built up. Wayne had laid some salt so it was enough for it to become weak enough to get it up. It didn't take long. The fresh air helped with the head so once I came in I started my dance workout. After I was done it didn't take long before my head kicked back in so I decided to listen to my body and lay down for a nap. I slept for 2 hours. Obviously I needed that. Can't believe it but it's still lingering.
Anyway hopefully tomorrow the weather is nicer and I can spend the day with my girl.
How everyone had a great day.

Well, it's a good thing it snowed today... that rodent didn't see his shadow!

I opted not to go to the vet last night, the roads were just too crappy, and it would've taken me an hour to get there. CatFace is doing a lot better, so I'm not as worried.

Before 2017 ended, I read an article about journaling daily. I groan in pain when I think of doing that, however, this idea was a lot smaller. The goal is to capture a list of things/items/activities that went well for you. That's it. No whining, no wishing, and only the truth. Because I tend to forget what I've done at the end of the day, and don't feel great about myself because I feel like I didn't accomplish anything, I write them down as they happen. Even though I'm in IT, I still like pen & paper, so I use a steno note pad for my list.

Sometimes the hard part is remembering to write it down right away. It's helped, too. Last week, I felt lost and not sure if I was getting anywhere. A quick glance at my book and I knew that I had done good work all throughout the month.

Schools closed at noon today... the roads are slick and they're starting to freeze over. I'm not leaving early because I'm carpooling with Toddylicious at the end of the day, and I don't want to leave him stranded.

Mom is leaving the hospital today!!!! That's all I know right now, and that I'm only making the trip to Moncton tomorrow. It'll be good to see her, too.

Businesses and government offices are closing early, but I get to do a French recording this afternoon. YAY!! :-D

Spark the Weekend!

Jo

Good morning ladies. IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
So last night I went to check out an exercise bike. I love riding bike and I had an exercise bike years ago that I used regularly but some how my ex ended up with it ( A-HOLE... Like he needed that )
Anyway, after working out with Shirley last week and getting to try hers out it just lit a spark in me and increased my desire to have one of my own ... Yes pun intended. Lol
I had been looking for a second hand one as I didn't have the cash for a new one so there the search began. Well I got myself a new to me bike, which by the way, I don't think this bike got used much. It still has that new look and the seat in no where broken in. Lol
I do have to do up a workout out schedule now ( getting serious now ) I only ever don't the treadmill and Zumba which is mostly cardio so so to really figure out how all this is going to work. With all the excitement I had to get on 'er and give it a whirl last night though and clocked my first 12 minutes. Felt good last night and feels good today.
Have a great day ladies.

Hey Everyone! Happy Groundhog Day!

It's so awesome to see everyone checking and reviewing their goals! This is the most important aspect of the lifestyle change as far as I'm concerned! As we progress along in our journey things change, whether it be life or our bodies, and our goals need to be readjusted to reflect that so we continue to have the motivation to work toward them. So kudos to you all!

It's warm and raining here this morning! I'll take it over snow and shoveling any day! It's not a lot of rain so the flood risk is minimal thank god, but it makes one feel so refreshed when you can go outside and not be frozen! I'm so looking forward to spring :)

gotta run!

February, wow.....Time sure flies....

Today I did some shoveling and then some housework. I was going to venture out but I decided not to. I will need to go tomorrow though and get some grub. I need some fruit and veggies for sure, and then the boss (pooch) needs some treats. I should also check my mail. I haven't done that this week. I just love getting bills.... lol....

Just reviewed my progress over the past year. I also looked at my motivational plan that I made up and my goals. I do that every so often to remind myself of how far I have come and to give myself an extra boost to keep on track. It is time to make a few new goals and to make some strategies for staying in this lifestyle. That is my goal this month.

Lori did you check out the bike this evening?

Well it's almost midnight so I think I better hit the hay...

Have a good night peeps...

Hugs..

Good morning ladies.

Jo thank you for the new thread. Can you believe it's the first of February already. That was a fast month. I must have missed something along the way unless I'm just not awake yet but success of the day book??? This sounds interesting!! Please share.

So I did a backshift last night and now I'm completely messed up. Normally I would sleep 3 hours before I go in and then 2-4 after I get home but with hubby just getting home I got not a wink of sleep then I worked later also so I never got to bed till 8 when Rebecca left, my body is like wtf have you done to me. Lol I just got up at 1 and I'm totally messed up.... Feeling like I need more sleep.

Anyway, with the new thread and an almost challenge within the name I thought hmmm what goal will I set for myself this month??? I am going to look at an exercise bike tonight so if it ends up coming home with me my goal will be riding that routinely. And speaking of routine, I guess I will have to revamp what I'm doing to fit that in.

Shirley you have a bike.. Any suggestions on how I should start incorporating this into my weekly workouts. I can still feel the muscles in my legs from our workout last week. Ha ha.
Oh ya... I'm totally out of shape!!

Ahh, February.... the month that only has 28 days, a groundhog sighting, a celebration of love, a Family Day that government finally put in place, and some of the worst that winter can throw at us. That's ok, we're hardy East Coast Canadians. :-)

This week has been crazy so far. I was out Monday evening, then Tuesday we had snow, last night was a great niece's 4th birthday (like I was gonna miss that!), and tonight I bring CatFace to the vet. I'm hoping I have the energy on Friday to drive to Moncton after work, otherwise, it'll be Saturday morning. And I really hope that Sunday isn't snowing, too.

I'm still worried about Mom, but there isn't much I can do from here. I'm trying not to think about it too often, or I might get in the truck and drive there now. She's hoping the doctors will let her go for at least the weekend... and they still don't know what's going on.

The Successes Of The Day book is coming along nicely. I'm impressed with myself that I have kept it up. Journaling is not my strong suit, mainly because I'm lazy. :-P I'm going to wait until at least summer, or a day when I feel really bummed out, to read some of them. I'm not good at celebrating my successes, so this is a big deal for me. Here's to consistency.
