I didn't do my whipper snipping this evening. I was feeling a little on the tired side. Oh well, it will wait for me.

Sam, 40 minutes is a good walk, especially when you are still not feeling up to par.. Way to go...

Lori, the baseball field lap idea Sam had is a good idea... emoticon

Well I have to go to bed. Too tired.. Hope I'm not coming down with something. I was sneezing a lot today..

Have a good night all....

Great job on the morning walk Sam. emoticon

I did walk away the pounds 2 mile this morning for work to try to make a little for not getting to Zumba. Nothing in comparison but it's something at least. Mom and I walked tonight for an hour so that felt great. And I parked at my usual spot away from the store to help a little. Every but counts right. Hopefully it helps on Friday. Lol

Hope everyone had a great day. emoticon

Morning team!! Got a 40 minute walk in before work so I'm pleased with that! Lungs are still recovering though...certainly noticed it.

Lori guess you will have to start lapping the softball field! Every time Rebecca gets on base you gotta run a lap!

Wow!! Congrats Sam. That's awesome. Loved your pics. Sucks that you got rained out and sick too. Hope you are feeling better now.

Glenda, glad you got a plan to stay out of trouble while getting some exercise. You go girl!! Lol

Tonight I didn't get to Zumba. Rebecca had her first softball game. They lost but played very well. She was pretty hard on herself as she never made it on base. Not from a lack of trying though. Lol she must of hit the ball a half a dozen times and she kept getting fouls. Even the back catcher said she was determined. Lol not sure how I'll manage not getting to either of my Zumba classes for the summer.

Oh well I'll have to make a summer routine.

Have a happy hump day tomorrow ladies. emoticon

Hey Team!!!

Well as you all know I had plans for the past weekend to go Iceberg hunting! At work on Thursday I felt like I was getting sick, hot and cold, and just a general feeling of yuck. But I was determined to get out of town...lol

Our adventure started out great! We left Thursday evening to drive across the island. It was absolutely beautiful driving, clear blue sky all the way! Got a some pics of a couple of moose along the way.

We drove as far as Goobies and camped in the car Thursday night. Finished the drive into St. John's on Friday morning and got there around 7.30 Am. Went to Cora's for breakfast. OMG it was so good! Bacon and eggs, pancakes and fresh fruit! Dear lord I thought I was going to explode haha!

After breakfast we drove to the campground. It was called La Manche Provincial Park. We spent the morning setting up the gear and getting cleaned up at the comfort station. It was cold though...only 5 degrees. And no cell service...lol

After lunch we went to the Witless Bay crab plant to meet everyone. The company that I work for owns the plant and I have talked to these people on the phone for years and it was great to finally put some faces to the names! We did a little tour and got us a feed of crab. It was sooo good!

That evening was camp fire and BBQ hamburgers for supper. It was cold but we has such fun! I still felt off...but took some cold meds and advil and carried on. But alas Saturday morning brought not only rain and more cold...it bought Sam the flu as well!

I felt that miserable that we packed up the gear and drove back across the island. I slept the whole way and haven't moved off the couch until this morning to get back to work.

So there ya have it..lol I will post what pics I have later tonight and catch up on all the news.

Oh..on a up side...got on the scale this morning and I have lost 3 pounds!! Down below the 200 mark! YAY me!

Keep the Spark team!
Sam

Shirley happy you're still up and running. How'd did you make out today??

Sam where are you?? Did you get lost?? We miss you girl!!!

Jo how was work today. Hopefully you had a great day.

Last night I got my weekly call in. I was supposed to be off and it never ceases to amaze me that every week on the day I make plans I always get that call. Happy to get the hours but wish I would get called in on a day when I have nothing planned. Other than work I only got a short workout in as I had to get groceries. I couldn't put that off one more day.

Now to make a meal plan for the week. But that will wait till tomorrow because it's soon my bedtime and I'm not done tracking yet.

Hope everyone had a great day. emoticon

Shirley I was wondering where you were. Glad to see you're back up and running. Welcome back girl. Xo

Glenda that was very sweet of you. Very thoughtful indeed. You are a busy little beaver getting all your work done and burning lots of calories. Great job girl.

Today was the beginning of another major cleaning day. I have a pretty small kitchen and when we bought the house it had doors on either side as it was the first room you seen when entering the house. I guess she either didn't like her kitchen or it was a mess. Lol anyway I always wanted to open it up so my brother and hubby did one side a few weeks ago and did the other side on Saturday. There is plaster dust EVERYWHERE!!! I swear I'll be a month of Sunday's trying to clean it all up but I got to say what a difference already. Gonna be some nice when it's done.

Jo, how did you make out the weekend. Hopefully you got the info you needed from your dad.

Sam, how was your trip? Hope you guys had a great time and didn't freeze your buns off. Lol

Here's to a great week. Cheers. emoticon

Hi team... sorry have not been able to log on for a few days.... just internet issues blaahhhh

So logging in this AM and working so fingers crossed !!!!

HOpe everyone is going well.

Lori - what is going on with the roof - is it shingles only or is there wood to replace ?? I have lots of info on roofing... as I had to do this to my house a couple of times..and one roofer took the time to sit with me and work out all the pricing so I could go and price it up myself... and there are MANY roofers that are not honest and take people to the cleaners... also found a good company that does metal roofing...if I had to go back I probably would have gone that route if planning to stay in the house long term..as the warranty and length of time is amazing.... one may not have to roof again. A friend just did her roof in Prospect and she did not really pay much more than asphalt shingles !!!! OMG and let me tell you.. when it rains it pours so to speak.. at my place was roof, furnace and washing machine all at once.. it was NEVER just one thing !!! Remember to breathe !!!!

Glenda - so sweet to take your friend out.. I am sure the distraction was just what she needed !!!!!

Mom - was with her yesterday afternoon and evening...she wanted to go to church..so I took her and I think that made her day !!! She had a great day yesterday..her feet seem a bit better..my sister bought her a foot massager and it seems to be helping with the bit of swelling and circulation. I contacted the local hospital this week and have a Home Assessment set up..they actually called me this week - so they will come to Mom's house and assess for safety and see if she requires help etc.. Also will review meds, and maybe refer her to a foot clinic ? had a great chat with the gal and she is very compassionate and knowlegeable..so will see what if anything will be required.

Sam - are you hiking this weekend ???

Jo - I hope you are doing well.. keep SMILING !!! :)

Well have to get back to laundry..have a few things to accomplish before I head out

Chat soon Spark On !!!!

I spent most of today with my sister in law. She lost her mom this week. I know how difficult that is, so I took her out to lunch and around to some nursery places. She loves to garden. It took her mind off of things for a wee bit.

I bought a little lighthouse with an LED light for my new garden patch. Now I need to get a few pieces of drift wood to help with the look and some bigger rocks from the beach.

I hear both you ladies. I love my house, I love the neighbourhood, I have the sweetest kindest most thoughtful neighbours in the world but sometimes, just sometimes turn key just seems so appealing, especially when there is so much work to do and no money and of course it always happens at one time. This year was the first year in many that my hubby didn't get a good bonus AND we got next to nothing back on income tax which always pays for summer vacation and anything major around the house of vehicle. This year van is acting up, roof got to be done..... Just all about bad timing. I'm trying to teach myself I don't need food to make it better. That's the headset part. I need to find my go to thing to replace the unnecessary eating.
Somedays I feel like I got a handle on this and I'm figuring it out then BAM!!! Something strikes and I lose all my senses.

So yes Jo.... YES!!!! I am in.... 100%!!! I'm ready to get off this ride and figure this out once and for all, so yes let's do this. There were a few days I didn't quite make the 8 I think it was 6. I can go back to check for sure but more importantly I'll make sure that I will make it 8 everyday starting tomorrow. Thanks so much for reaching out to help me with this. I really appreciate your support. Xo

Oh, and I hope you make out ok today with your dad.

Hey gals,

A few updates since yesterday morning. My truck is in the shop. I know it needs at least a bearing in the front, the muffler pipe possibly rewelded, either fuel injection line is dirty or it's a much bigger problem. I've put off the bearing for a while this winter so it's time to fix 'er up.

Gkenda, I hear you about house vs shabby apartment. Some days, I just want less worry, but then I'd have to give up the yard. I need to call a foundations company, because one of the cement pillars under the house is still crumbling, and there are tree logs holding up that corner of the house. I'm really hoping 1-2 days worth of work.

Lori, it's gonna sound crazy, but the emotional rollercoaster is fueled by carbs. Yep. Fruit too. I just had some watermelon, and I had a small hot flash. Caffeine feeds it too, and anxiety loves that. Come with me and we will get off this ride. Are you drinking your 8 per day? That's the first one we need to do. Are you in?

Shirley & Sam, hope you're Sparking it!

Later today, we are going to Upper Blackville to get pics & info about the camp so I can insure it. I hope Dad knows info about the water & septic!

Put your left Spark in, put your left Spark out, put your left Spark in, and SHAKE IT all about!

:-)

Jo

What a day!!! If it don't rain it pours... No pun intended. I'm glad it's over. I have got to get rid of the emotional eater that's taking over. I think I may take a drive to the ocean if the temps are warm. I don't care if it rains as long as it's not cold. I feel like I need a vacation even though I won't be able to afford one if I don't find a cheaper quote. Oh my!!!!!
Hope you all had a great day.

Jo, my feeder is one of the smaller 8oz ones. The male has been here today as well.

Boy, did it rain today. It came down quite heavy at times, and it was cold out. I came home at lunch to take the pooch out and just about froze my butt off..

Glad it is the weekend again. I imagine I will have to mow again, after it dries up. Good exercise though.

Talking about getting roofs done, I have to have mine done this year as well. I also have to get my chimney redone. It never ends.... but it beats living in a dingy apartment.

Well, I gotta go, my TC is calling me... I also have dishes to do...

Let's keep the Spark lit.....

Dear Voltaren, how I love thee.....

Lori, the cost of a new roof depends on how many peaks are on the house. We had ours redone in 2014, just moments before Hurricane Arthur blew through NB. We have 2 peaks, and we had it done in metal instead of shingles. The cost was just under $6000 -- shingles would have cost us $600 less. For the price difference, we chose metal roofing. There were a handful of boards that had to be replaced on the roof, and it was included in the price. My house is 25'x40', and that will also affect the final price. If you've got some questions about it, ask away.

I think I need to make smaller goals to reach, especially with food right now. The anxiety is what keeps me eating too much, and eating foods that cause hot flashes. It's also affecting my self-confidence, so when I get a few good wins under my belt, it's easier to believe I can do this long term. As for bread, Lori, your body probably hasn't had it in so long that when it tasted it, all the old triggers came back. My Wife really likes white bread. I don't, but I humour her by letting her buy the occasional white loaf of bread, usually at the farmers' market. I will eat some of it, and I often realize after the first bite why I don't do white bread -- it lacks serious flavour. But I'm still drawn to it, especially if the bread is really fresh.

Glenda, how big is your feeder? I have one that will hold 6 cups -- yes, that's SIX cups -- of sugared water. It's a little too big, and I think the next ones will be much smaller ones, the ones that hold about 8oz. We have at least 2 hummingbirds in the yard, and I'd like them to keep coming back after the rhododendron has finished blooming. Which, by the way, should be in another 3-4 weeks. Our blooms are always a week or two later than the city.

This morning, the Fitness Rooms Committee is getting together to wash down our cardio equipment, and I still need a walk. Maybe I'll do 10 mins now and another 10 mins after the washing, just to stretch my legs. Bummer it's raining today.

Spark in the sun, Spark in the rain, Spark every day!

Jo

Even though it has been a short week, it still feels incredibly long. Must be the weather..

I finally have a hummingbird coming to the feeder. I was a little concerned they may not like the new one, but there was a little female one there this evening. They are so cute.

I am quite tired this evening so it is off to la la land for me.

Night all.... Hugs

I'm not sure what it is either Jo jo. I blame everything on menopause lol I had another ciabatta sandwhich today for supper with pulled pork this time. I think I was groaning like Homer Simpson at one point. What the heck happened. I was doing so good... I was feeling so good. Now I'm on a roller coaster ride. Food is winning. ... Sigh....

Sorry to hear you are having so much anxiety love. I hope you can to chat with someone. Glad you got out for a walk. Fresh air is always good to clear the head. Good luck with that.

Well we recently discovered a small hairline crack in our living room ceiling.... Our house us plaster so you know that's been brewing for awhile. So after a little investigating we discovered we have a leak.... And I'm having a heart attack on how much a new roof is going to set us back. I can't even bear the thought of having to go in debt that much.

Oh god I think I just had a A HA MOMENT...... Crap!!!! My emotional eater is taking over!!! This is not good!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Bread, why must you taste so good? And why do you have to have so much yeast in there to taste amazing? *sigh*

I don't know if it's spring, or something in the water, but Lori, I sure hear ya!

I think it's time I called EAP again, because my anxiety is way up and I can't seem to relax enough to bring it down.

On a good note, I walked outdoors for my lunch hour workout. Up & down some hills, not very far and only a half hour. My butt sure feels it! And happily, my lower mid-drift isn't feeling it yet.

Jo, Lori it's difficult when you have those cravings. For me it has always been the potato chips and chocolate.

Sam, I hope your adventure is awesome.

Shirley, how are you doing? And how is your Mom?

Nothing new for me today, just the same old go to work, come home, cook supper and look after his majesty...

Going on my tread climber now...

Chow babes...

Hey everyone!

I swear, one day, I will give up bread -- or only have it 2-3 times a week. I'm not even gonna mention the chocolate. :-P

It seems so hard to stay away from carbs this time around -- or maybe I'm making it harder than it has to be. After the weekend, I was up 5lbs. I had 1 bottle of Mountain Dew, half a bottle of Coca-Cola, and half the Dew was with 1 shot, and I mean only one shot, of tequila. But we had pasta nearly every supper, and bread for every breakfast. And after the purchased chocolates were eaten up, I started making cookies. I really gotta figure this out, and soon.

I just got back from the optometrist, where I'm trying bifocal contact lenses for a week. Wearing Mulroney glasses to do my job is getting annoying, so I made an appointment. The one eye with oblique astigmatism (geez, even my eyes have obliques!) is having a harder time adjusting to the new lens, mainly because the material is different. Do I see better? Kinda, but my astigmatism eye is not happy right now. It's having to adjust a lot. Reading test was better than 20/20, but it feels weird.

Ok, last ditch effort to get this day to be somewhat productive.

Spark it like you mean it!

Hello ladies. I was lucky enough to have and extra long weekend. I don't back until Thursday. Rebecca was back to school today so mom and I went shopping. I need to get new clothes. I was trying to hold off but I'm gonna need a whole new wardrobe for summer. That's the worst part of weightloss is its gonna cost a fortune. Guess I'll hit the second hand stores.

Tonight I'm more tired than normal and my god I can't get enough food today. I'm right in the middle of calories, high end of protein, low end of fat muddle for carbs but I'm telling you I'm craving bead. It's killing me too cause I have fresh ciabatta bread out there and its SCREAMING MY NAME!!!!! ugh!!!!!

Shirley, I agree today did feel like Monday.. It's hard coming back from a three day.. I was quite busy today at work as well. Lots to catch up on, but that's a good thing. I would rather have lots to do than nothing.

I found it so damp and chilly today. This changing weather is hard to keep up with.

Well I am off to bed as it is getting late.

Everyone have a nice evening and a good nights sleep.

Good morning team... happy Tuesday.. sure feels like a Monday here...

Lori - what awesome pics and beautiful girls and awesome pool.. You are so lucky the inlaws and pools are close by :)))

Glenda - sounds like you had a busy and productive weekend. I did not accomplish as much as I'd like - did get floors scrubbed etc..and went back and forth to Moms most of the week3end.

Jo - who hoooo awesome work.... you guys got lots done. Mom - not sure what is going on with her swelling.. I think the other day it was humid and she is not moving enough and not drinking enough water. Keep trying to get her to realize that she DOES have to get out of her rocking chair more... The episodes she has .. I am still not entirely sure it is her heart rate racing (which she has)..or if some is low blood sugars..then she gets anxious etc. She has her doctors appt soon..so will make sure she takes a LIST with her - if I am unable go go, my brother usually takes her. Also decided to get the Hospital in to do an in home evaluation.... time that maybe she could use some help at home.. she is not much into cooking these days and has pretty much zero appetite etc.

Sam - sounds like a nice relaxing weekend... guess no iceburgs this weekend... hope weather co operates for next week !!!

Well just a note to SAY HELLO and wish you all a fantastic day...and week !!!:)))

Lori, that pool looks wonderful... Nice place to exercise..

Today I just did normal housework and sorted through more stuff for donation. I was going to do some more yard work but I decided the inside of the house needed some attention.

I enjoy those pics ladies.

Well it's getting late and it's back to work tomorrow... Have a good night all....

Thanks so much ladies. I'm still on cloud nine here today.

Well today was a busy day. I'll have to tell you my long story tomorrow but the short version for now was Rebecca and I went for a walk. A 5 km walk today. Can't wait to share that tomorrow.
Then when we got back we had lunch and headed to the i laws fir a swim. I wish I had their pool. It's gorgeous. Just deep enough that I can do Zumba ha ha

And She can do handstands.

We then came home and mowed the yard as hubby worked all weekend. Then had a beautiful supper. Now I'm beat and can't wait to crawl into the sack.

Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.

Now that was a decent sweat. :-)

Lots of little things done this weekend. Well, it would be little to most people but I'm still building up my strength. I'm sore all over, too. :-) Moved metal barrel to back yard after emptying most of it across the road, cleaned out parts of lean-to so the winter tools could be stacked against the wall. Pulled out lots of recycling that we dropped off, refundables in the shed, and cleaned off the deck. We shoveled crushed rock under the greenhouse and moved out paper to the barrel for burning. This will allow me to have very small fires all summer and I don't have to worry about it spreading on the grass. Clipped some big branches, dragged them to the fire pit. My Wife did a cool craft with coconut husks and some metal basket shelving.

Sorry for the messy background.

She repotted all indoor plants, including herbs like basil & oregano & rosemary. Now boiling up frozen chicken, thawing/cooking them enough before charring on the BBQ. Some logging road exploring, and it was a little jaunt away! The roads are mostly in great shape, lots of offshoots to check out later, and Google maps works well out there when I have the cell too. When we pulled onto main road, I laughed because I really did know where we ended up. It was a lot of fun, and going to check out other offshoots this summer.

Lori!! OMG! You did it! And from the heart of a slow walker, thank you for waiting with the rest of the pack. How are your feet today?

Does anyone have today as a paid holiday? I do but I'm also a civil servant. Wife is salaried, so she is home. Anyone in retail had to work today?

Shirley, sorry to hear your Mom is having a rough go right now. If the swelling is still there, what have they checked for? Has she come out of her anxiety attack yet? My Dad called 8 times in 2 days -- I called him back about an hour ago. The ride-on quit and he isn't able to do the yard with the push mower without working hard. We are all now working on making barter deals for Dad, so he can borrow the mower or give some of the stuff he would sell in exchange. I understand why my sister has a twitch over her left eyebrow. emoticon

We saw 2 hummingbirds today so we put up the feeder. Happy little birds they seem to be.

Sam.... Sam? Hello? Hope the hiking and hunting went well!

Glenda, doesn't it seem early to mow this year? How big of an area do you mow? I haven't mowed the whole yard once yet, but it's coming. My Wife has a spot picked out to plant the spring bulbs that we never seem to get in the ground. There may be a few fall ones, but I'm ok with having a surprise in September. I'm hoping there are gladiolas in the bunch for next fall... they were my grandmother's favourite.

Ooh, I'm gonna be sore tomorrow too. A little Advil tomorrow and walk a couple minutes every hour, and I know it will help.

Chicken is bubbling over, and My Wife is snoring on the couch. LOL

Spark it like you own it!

Jo

Good morning girls.. / team....

Thanks Glenda,, yes the "Mom" thing has been a rollercoaster since before Xmas so to speak. She can get herself very worked up when she is not feeling well... I think she always kind of things the worst.. probably does not help that her fav sister/her best friend has cancer and was diagnosed to live approx. 6 months - but has passed that... I know that has to be always on her mind for sure :((( She was in good spirits yesterday and she had some swelling in her ankles that was better yesterday.. I again re-inforced - water, water , water, exercise and staying away from Sodium... she had not had swelling often...so it worried her.

Clam Harbour... aweeee love all those beaches... Martinique I think is calling my name :)) LOL bet the pooch loves it when he has the beach to himself!!!

Jo - how are the bugs and yard work ???

Sam - are you Iceburg hunting ??

Lori - I hope you took the time to have a nice long Epsome Salt Bath..
You Go Girl !! Whoooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooooo
To bad my feet won't co operate..uggghhhhhhhh Hopefully they will not continue to cause me grief....

WEll gotta get some stuff done around her... SPARK ON TEAM !!!!

Lori I am so glad you enjoyed the marathon experience. There really isn't anything like it. The satisfaction of completing it with all of those people.... Wow.... congrats girl.... You deserve a high five for sure.....

Shirley I hope your Mom is feeling better. That is stressful for you too.. You went to Victoria Park yesterday. I am thinking on going two Saturdays from now. I have always wanted to go there. Take care of those feet my friend.

Well today I went to Clam Harbor beach. I so love it down there. Anyways the wind was really high and so there weren't too many others there. I like it when it's not so crowded. My pooch was in seventh heaven. He even tried to take me in the water... Burrrr... Too cold for me....

Jo, how's your yard work coming along?

Sam, did you get any hikes in this weekend?

Well goodnight my friends. Enjoy your evening and keep the Spark....

WHOO HOOOO Lori.. congrats.... I am so proud of you girl. emoticon I was hoping my feet would co operate as I'd like to train for that one and/or the Soul Sisters. I went for a walk yesterday in Victoria Park in Truro and I paid the price last night :( I truly hope the feet calm down and dont always cause me grief !!! Mom had a very sore ankle and I was called at work by my younger brother .. were all set to go to ER and she layed down and the pain subsidded. I was concerned that should check for blood clots etc and 811 nurse suggested she get checked - so that part seems ok (fingers crossed) .. she has had a few o her "epoisodes" this week with heart racing etc...so trying to keep a close eye and get there as much as possible.

Jo - funny I stopped at a local veges stand yesterday and was talking to him about Fiddlehead...He described as earthy, kind of like asparagus and said people like them steamed ... but they do need butter and sometimes people like spices or garlic.. I picked up some to thy tonight . never had them before.

Glenda... another bright sunny day... breezy again.. probably will have to bundle up for those beach walks..but would be lovely just the same.

Sam - hope the sun is shining and that your having a great weekend.

OK.. gotta run..have housework to tackle..then strength training then over to check on Mom

Have a SPARKY DAY all !!!!

Ok then Jo. I guess I might pass on them. I recently tried Brussels and guess what. I hated them. My god they are as gross as people say. I don't like veggies in general so I guess I'll stick to the few that I do like and I'll just keep eating lettuce. Ha ha.

Glenda the marathon was AMAZINGLY!!! I walked a moderate pace because I went with coworkers. My Zumba buddy and I took a bit of a lead from the other walkers but I know on my own I would have shaved another 8 minutes off but it totally wasn't about that. It was about the experience, and to be apart of something bigger than my 5 km walks. this is something I will blog about. I was moved and I will do it again.

Sam I saw the pictures of the snow my friend. I could not believe it. I hope it didn't last long. Hopefully you got to do more than shovel it.

Shirley girl, how's things going??? How's momma??? Hope all is well.

Well peeps. Gotta try to finish posting and get my tired butt to bed!! emoticon

Busy day today. Went grocery, clothes, gardening supplies shopping. This afternoon I mowed my front lawn, whipper snipped and then this evening I worked on a new garden bed..

I am pretty tired but I enjoyed the day.

Thanks Jo, for the info on the fiddleheads. I do like most greens.

We really are a busy bunch! :-)

Fiddleheads are delicious if you enjoy most green veggies because they have the texture of asparagus and the flavour of an earthy, deep green veggie that is most enjoyed with butter and vinegar. Butter, because it's like lobster.... not going to waste the flavour. Easy read:
rn

I can't eat them. They remind me of Brussel sprouts and bitter veggies. It doesn't work for me. I strongly recommend buying them at Sobeys or Superstore, and look for bright medium green stalks, a sturdy and tight fiddlehead, and as clean as possible. Before cooking, rinse and rinse and rinse the veggies, unless you enjoy very earthy (dirt) flavour.

Gotta go. Outdoors is calling.

:-)

Lori, that's exciting to do the Blue Nose Marathon. My friend and I did the 10k (walked it) a few years back. It's just so exciting to be a part of something that big. You make me proud my friend. I wish I could do it also. I am aiming for next year though.

Jo, I don't think I have had fiddleheads. They sound good though.

Well it was another nice day today, and it looks as though the weekend will be nice. I am planning on getting some more yard work done and of course on Sunday I am thinking of going to the beach.

Enjoy the weekend all.....

Hugs.....

Ok Jo so tell me about the fiddle heads. I see them come and go every year but I've never had them but always wanted to try them. Like asparagus. I don't cook it myself but had them once and enjoyed it but never put them into my diet. I guess I really should put an effort into.
As for running, yes,, I would love to run again. I used to when I was younger then I moved to N.S and stopped and never got back into it. Then in 2010 when I started sp I did c25k and enjoyed it very much but hurt my leg and that set me way back so if I do start again I want to make sure I don't make the same mistakes as before. Keep in mind I'm not marathon running. Most people could probably walk as fast as I'm jogging. Lol but it running to me. Ha ha

Shirley girl.... Hope your mom is doing better.

Glenda, Sam how goes the battle??

Anyway ladies. Tomorrow is the big day... Bigger than I thought cause I found out we have to walk to the starting point and once we're done we walk back lol it will be more than 10 km total. Should be fun though. My first official marathon. WOOT, WOOT!!!!

Hey ladies!

That was a hot one yesterday, wasn't it?! Wow.... The Wife was so happy to get out of the store because the AC didn't get turned on until 5:30 yesterday. Sticky & stinky.... I also dug out some of my capris for work. I really need to get some of them shortened... they look like clam diggers! #shortgirlproblems :-D

Shirley, I'm so happy VW came through for you. Car manufacturers and dealerships can be so difficult to honour recalls, so I'm happy this worked out for you!

Lori, running. Really? You think you'd enjoy that? Actually, I'm jealous, because I'll never be able to run for fun. I have 2 vertebrae that are slowly compressing and causing the sciatica to pinch, and things like running, jogging and jumping make it worse. I can pretend to run, but it looks funny being in a lunge position and just running with my arms. :-D

Sam, the hike sounds promising! And it just seems so wrong to mention that 4-letter S-word after May 1! I think I might have to add iceberg hunting on my bucket list, since it sounds like a lot of fun and adventurous enough to give a little rush.

Glenda, yesterday, I said the same thing about the heat. Actually, I didn't dare go outside for a walk or I might not have come back inside to work!

This weekend, it's Fiddlehead canning, bratwurst BBQ'ing and gardening, and if it's too hot or too wet to work outdoors, we'll go for another drive out the logging roads. And this time, I download the Google Map on my tablet!

Spark it like you own it!

Jo

Lori funny that you should mention bears. I just had ordered bear bells for Hubby and I and a mini cow bell for the dog. The noise alerts bears and they are long gone before we get close!

TGIF team! Raining here this morning so no walk before work. It's supposed to change to snow tonight UGH...see how that pans out.

Shirley hope you Mom is feeling better!

Jo and Glenda enjoy your long weekend!

OH Shirley I hope your mom is ok Hun. Keep us posted Hun.
Glenda , Jo, how are you ladies making out today.

Sam, hope the snow is off the trails so you and hubby can get out exploring. All I've been thinking lately is I pray to god there are no bears up on top of the old man.

In laws got their pool opened up just in time for this hot weather. Oh, oh,.... And guess what else. Be and my Zumba buddy signed up to do the 5 km blue nose marathon. We will be walking as I'm just not will to try to run that yet.. Next year maybe. I'm pretty excited.

Anyway ladies it's past my bedtime.
Good night. Hope you all had a great day.

Plans for the weekend? Well I hope to do more yard work on Saturday and then Sunday I am thinking of going East to visit some friends and get a walk in on the beach. Other than that, I hope to get some time to just relax.

Today was a beauty of a day... Sooooo warm.... I go home at lunch to take the pooch out and I just wanted to stay home and stretch out on my deck. But alas, I had to return to work....

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday..... yay.....

Good morning everyone!

Beautiful day here in Newfie land. Got a 35 minute walk in before work so I'm pleased with that! Another walk this evening hopefully.

Anyone have any plans for the long weekend?

We don't really have plans. Next week is clean up week in our town so I'm hoping to take a day and declutter the basement. Hubby is bit of procrastinator when it comes to that so I have to kick him in the behind to get him started haha!

Lori we may go have a look at the Man in the Mountain trail. See how much snow is left on it and how far we can get..weather permitting of course. Someone said it was calling for rain/snow so I haven't even looked at the forecast, it's too depressing.

Maybe if it's not nice out I'll cook a turkey. I want to bottle some turkey soup for lunches anyway.

Anyway have a great day all!

Hey Lovely Sparkers!

The stress is still there, but I'm working on letting it go. Self care, like you said, can be hard to practice, but I'm working on that too. Sam's mid-week challenge was perfect today.

I had a Yoga session. And a massage. And I need my foam roller. Happy places. :-D

Day's done, it's Radio Bingo tonight, and I need to get a few groceries before heading home.

Spark on!

Jo
